Re: [JAWS-Users] MS word 2003 and spellcheck

2010-01-24 Thread Stephanie Smeader

Are you running jfw 11 and XP?
I had ms word 2003 sometime ago and jfw5 and windows XP and sometimes I had
the same problem but it usually fixes itself up the next time I did a
spell-check!

Although this was on a desktop not a laptop!
I honestly wish I could help you there but maybe someone else knows what to
do!

When I highlight a word to spellcheck it and MS word 2003 makes
suggestions it only offers one choice all the time. I recall when using MS
word 2003 at work I would be offered a list of words to choose from. Don't
know why MS word 2003 is doing this on my laptop at home.

2010-01-25 Thread Larry Stansifer
Leonard,

You didn't mention the version of windows or jaws you are
running however try maximizing the application window with
Alt+spacebar and then hit X. You might also try refreshing
the screen with insert+escape.
These usually solve that issue with JFW 9.latest and windows
XP-Pro.

Re: [JAWS-Users] MS word 2003 and spellcheck

2010-01-25 Thread David
Hello Leonard;

this is how I do the spell check, with MSWord2003,
using Jaws.

I use, alt+shift+l,

you will hear jaws say;
"please wait, processing x items". now the number of items obviously
depends on how many mistakes.

once the list comes up, arrow to a miss spelled word,

press enter, then press the application key, you should see choices choose
the correct one, and press enter.

note, you need to use the keystroke, alt+shift+l, for each correction.

I use this procedure if I want to correct on the fly, and not wait until the
end of the project I'm working on.

Hello Susie;

just to illustrate how it works,

1, open MSWord, type a few words,
purposely making some mistakes.

after you've typed a few miss spelled words,
use the keystroke, alt+shift+l

you will hear jaws say something like,
please wait processing, then, a number of items.

now that the list is up,

choose one from the list,
press enter,

find your right choice,

as I indicated, you need to do this for each miss spelled word.

or, you can wait until you have finished typing your document, and use f7,
as you mentioned.

2010-01-25 Thread Leonard Morris
I like that solution. I did not know about that keystroke. I also if I only
want to check the word I just typed, I highlight the word with shift ctrl
right arrow and then press f7 I can then check just that particular word and
answer no for checking the rest of the document since at this point I have
not typed anything else yet.
