Re: [JAWS-Users] Router question
They talking about the Service Set Identifier SSID. Open your router, probably with Uverse it is 192.168.1.254. Go to wireless settings. The SSID is 2Wire followed by three digits that are the last three of your serial number. Change it there. When you save your changes, you'll need to enter your Modem password, which is different from your uVerse account Pin. Re: [JAWS-Users] Router question
Hi Richard, You do not actually change the name of the router, you are just changing the SSID. The SSID, or, service set identifier, is how your wireless network is broadcast, so you know which network you are attempting to connect to. You have to access the router interface to make those settings changes with a user name and password, which are commonly found on the bottom of the router. Once you have gained access you can find these settings under Wireless Settings. Cisco Lynksys E 4200 v1 I specified version 1 because they came out with v 2 a year later which has a faster processor but a little shorter range. I like the v 1 better.
