[JAWS-Users] System tray volume control not working
Hi All, When I open volume control from the system tray Jaws reads " layer menues " and nothing else. How do I remove volume control from the system tray and reinstall it so that it works correctly? All advice will be greatly appreciated and stress releasing. Thank you all very much. How long has this been? Perhaps if you restart your computer your volume will be in your System Tray in its usual conformation. Also, why not open the volume control via Start menu, programs, Accessories Submenu, Entertainment Submenu, or Control panel etc., and manipulate it there. - Original Message - From: "Mike & Barbara" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "jaws-users-list" Sent: Saturday, August 23, 2008 2:14 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] System tray volume control not working Hi All, When I open volume control from the system tray Jaws reads " layer menues " and nothing else. Re: [JAWS-Users] System tray volume control not working
Hi Mike, It sounds like there could be something obscuring the window. Either unload, and reload Jaws, or try a re-boot. As for the volume icon, control panel, sound and audio devices when that opens, tab to the checkbox to show the volume icon on the task bar, and uncheck it. Tab to the okay button, and spacebar it, and close out of the control panel. HTH, Richard Q. Re: [JAWS-Users] System tray volume control not working
Hi Richard, That box was already unchecked, so I checked it and volume control in the system tray is now working correctly. Also Richard, a couple of months ago you helped me get Narrator running again. Well, I installed new XP operating systems on both computers and Narrator is now working correctly also. Narrator doesn't sound as clear as Reed on a telephone in an outhouse, or does he? But I do like the navigation ability of this one over MS 2000. Thanks for all the help.
