Good afternoon Jaws Users.
Below my comments is a OneDrive link for the Jaws Users group, this
email will be followed by another email with instructions on how to
download from OneDrive.
Please give me your feedback on my tutorials either on or off list.
This takes up my storage, if many of you are using it then fine, if not
I will need to make changes.
Using the iTunes program is easy if it is set up correctly.
One must after importing his or her music into iTunes, turn on the
column browser press Control+Shift+B, this is a toggle.
Also, set the view options to Songs, you open this by pressing Control+J.
After pressing Control+J, Shift+tab to the list box, down arrow to
Songs, press enter.
I have also added three audio tutorials on using Windows live mail.
I have added 2 audio tutorials on using mcafee with Jaws as well.
These are in addition to the 5 Jaws lessons.
Again, all feedback is welcome.
This Using iTunes part 3, is demonstrated with Jaws 17 with the smart
navigation turned on.
I show you around the main iTunes window, set up with my artist list
displaying when I open up iTunes.
I show you how to navigate the iTunes store with the smart navigation
turned on.
I show you many other things.

Re: [JAWS-Users] An audio tutorial on Google Chrome

2015-11-18 Thread David Ferrin
I have not heard this tutorial as of yet. Those of you who have what are
your opinions of the recording? I only know that JAWS is very clearly
recorded along with David's' voice.

It is somewhat of a large MP3 file but I might have the space to post it on
the server if I obtain permission from the author. Obviously boys and girls
I don't do such things without prior consent.

  Hi all,
I forgot to mention that you do not even need to have dropbox to

use it

page and
there will be a download link, and press enter on that. Now, you can
save it
where you want on your computer. That is it. If you guys want to
learn how
to use Drop Box, I could teach you that in my next tutorial. Take
care, and
I hope you can download it and all will learn a lot about Chrome. I
am now
using it as my default browser. It is an hour audio tutorial and I go
over
all the basics of Chrome from browsing, to saving and getting to book
marks,
saving pages in different formats, downloading and saving files, and
much
more. Let me know how it goes downloading it.

  Hi all,
I forgot to mention that you do not even need to have dropbox to
download
the tutorial from the link I gave you. You don't have to know how to
use it
or anything like that. All you guys need to do is enter on the link
in the
email, and a page will come up. Go to almost to the bottom of the
page and
there will be a download link, and press enter on that. Now, you can
save it
where you want on your computer. That is it. If you guys want to
learn how
to use Drop Box, I could teach you that in my next tutorial. Take
care, and
I hope you can download it and all will learn a lot about Chrome. I
am now
using it as my default browser. It is an hour audio tutorial and I go
over
all the basics of Chrome from browsing, to saving and getting to book
marks,
saving pages in different formats, downloading and saving files, and
much
more. Let me know how it goes downloading it.

list was shut down. This is an hour tutorial that goes over all the basics
of Chrome like browsing, downloading and saving files, saving pages in
different formats, and I take you through all of the options in the Chrome
menu. I hope you learn and try Chrome, because it is very fast, great when
streaming, and it is more accessible than it has ever been. Here is the
link. Just enter on the link, and a page will come up. Arrow down to almost
the bottom of the page, and enter on the download link and you can save it
to your computer. Here is the link.

I forgot to mention that you do not even need to have dropbox to download
the tutorial from the link I gave you. You don't have to know how to use it
or anything like that. All you guys need to do is enter on the link in the
email, and a page will come up. Go to almost to the bottom of the page and
there will be a download link, and press enter on that. Now, you can save it
where you want on your computer. That is it. If you guys want to learn how
to use Drop Box, I could teach you that in my next tutorial. Take care, and
I hope you can download it and all will learn a lot about Chrome. I am now
using it as my default browser. It is an hour audio tutorial and I go over
all the basics of Chrome from browsing, to saving and getting to book marks,
saving pages in different formats, downloading and saving files, and much
more. Let me know how it goes downloading it.

Hi all,
Yesterday, I sent all of you a Drop Box link to a tutorial that I did on
Google Chrome. I am not sure it got through, because I just read that the
list was shut down.

Hi all,
I forgot to mention that you do not even need to have dropbox to download
the tutorial from the link I gave you.
It is an hour audio tutorial and I go over
all the basics of Chrome from browsing, to saving and getting to book marks,
saving pages in different formats, downloading and saving files, and much
more. Let me know how it goes downloading it.

hello;
not sure how you do the creating shourtcut for network connections,
but, here's how I did it for windows 8.1.

1, go to desktop,
and press ctrl+spacebar, to unselect any icon which is highlighted,

2, press the applications key, up or down arrow until you hear;
new sub menu,
either enter or right arrow to open,
next choose shortcut, press enter,

3, now type in:
ncpa.cpl

tab next press enter,
now, give the shortcut a name,
example, network connections,
now tab finish press enter,

now you should see the shortcut on the desktop, connecting you to your
network connections.

Interesting, I did not do it in this manner.

I show how to create a shortcut to each item separately. This command gets
you to the list of connections and to be honest I did not know it until now.

I got there by typing:

View network connections

in the search box. Thank you for teaching me something.

2013-11-15 Thread David Ferrin
The recording I mentioned earlier went much faster than I expected so it is
already posted on the server.

[JAWS-Users] an audio tutorial

2011-06-21 Thread David Ferrin
I just posted a brief tutorial covering ripping an audio CD with media player
11. Next I hope to post such an animal using gold wave this week some time.
With luck and time permits there are a couple of others I have in mind that
hopefully will be of some benefit.

A question for you on doing the recordings. What type of mic and device
are you using to record these and if one wanted to record in MP3 format
in good quality what would one use?

Re: [JAWS-Users] an audio tutorial

2011-06-21 Thread David Ferrin
I just use a headset microphone, the brand varies depending on what is on
special price at any given time. I use gold wave as my recording program of
choice. I record in wave format and only when I am comfortable with the
final result convert it to MP3. The major thing is you need a sound card
that has an option on the recording tab of what you hear or possibly wave /
MP3 to obtain the desired results of hearing your own voice along with your
screen reader.

Some people use a mixer but I never got that fancy since of the 9 sound
cards in this house 4 of them have that capability. Each system has an
internal and I also have 5 external cards.

Re: [JAWS-Users] an audio tutorial

2011-06-21 Thread Paul Shallbetter

Robin, I can't speak for David, but here's what I am using.
F
or portable recording, I use an Olympus DM-4, which records and saves files
in .WAV, .mp3 and .wma formats, at a variety of bit rates. (The higher the
bit rate, generally speaking, the higher the fidelity of the recording but
the more storage space required.

For microphones I either use the built-in mics (very good) on the Olympus,
or a pair of electret condenser microphones from Core Sound, or a lavalier
microphone from RadioShack and/or Sony. It depends on the kind of recording
you want to do; for voice, podcasts and audio blogs for instance, the
built-in microphones might be enough. For concerts etc. I use the binaural
condenser microphone pair.

I also have a Tascam DR7. Bigger, bulkier but with more dedicated buttons.
Uses common AA batteries (the Olympus uses a proprietary battery pack). The
Tascam doesn't record to . all formats, however.

I hope this helps. Feel free to mail me off-list if you want more
information.

There may already be something about this in the archives and I will
check, but if not, how about something about getting rid of those
quorentined files for programs like Ad-Aware SE. It seems to me that
if they are quorentined, I should be able to delete them entirely.

Thanks for the welcome.

There may already be something about this in the archives and I will
check, but if not, how about something about getting rid of those
quorentined files for programs like Ad-Aware SE. It seems to me that
if they are quorentined, I should be able to delete them entirely.

 Thanks for the welcome.

Thanks Tam that's appriciated. I'm up to part 8 now on the goldwave series.
Thanks for the second address. I wondered where that guy wandered off to.
I learned how to use GW from his recordings done a couple of years ago. Do
you know if he's updated them any or not?

Thanks for the second address. I wondered where that guy wandered off to.
I learned how to use GW from his recordings done a couple of years ago. Do
you know if he's updated them any or not?

Hello Tam,

Try going to jaws-users.com then click the link for the form for the jaws
users mailing list. On the resulting page there should be a form to enter
your email address and an unsubscribe or edit options button. Fill in your
email address and hit the button. Now enter your password and click login.
on that page one of the many options should be something for whether or not
to recieve your own posts.

[JAWS-Users] Singe Audio Tutorial

2007-10-01 Thread Patricia
Hi Anyone..

I just downloaded this Singe MP3 and gave a listen to it and first just want
to say it was a good clear audio instructions easy to understand and clear
and concise stayed on the subject...
I understand it's strictly a data burning program which is great, but I have
2 questions concerning it...

1. What type of cd do I use to burn my data and is there a limit of MB a cd
will hold

2. Can this burn any sort of data such as Excel/Word

I think I'm going to have to start burning the church's files and
spreadsheets onto cd and not having done much of this before, I think this
program Singe should do nicely provided it will let me burn this form of
data?

Thanks for offering these audio tutorials up on your site for download.

2007-10-01 Thread David A Ferrin
Thanks Patricia for the compliment on my tutorial. Now to answer your
questions in order. Either a CD or a CDRw will work. The second would
probably be better if you are going to be doing it multiple times. Also the
average CD holds around 700 mega bytes where a DVD will hold about 4.7 gigga
bytes. Any file at all that isn't a CD audio file is a data file, even an
MP3 is considered a data file.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Singe Audio Tutorial

2007-10-01 Thread Patricia
Oh I wasn't aware of an mp3 being classified as a data file. Now that's
making me want to get this program up and running...
I did buy some rewritables as I had attempted to burn something awhile back
but it wasn't too successful.
If I and I will modify data does it act same as a floppy drive does once
I've saved to a floppy and modify the data and resave the changes, can I do
it like that through this Singe or will it work through Alt F?

Thanks,

Patricia

Oh duh, do I feel stupid here for asking you that being as rewritable would
mean to rewrite over it again, right?
Well look how smart I became from listening to that tutorial grins...

[JAWS-Users] new audio tutorial coming soon

2007-06-14 Thread David Ferrin
I'm placing the finishing touches on an audio tutorial of Karen's Replicator, I
hope to have it posted tomorrow morning some time. It's a neat free program for
backing up your files to a remote location such as an external drive or over a
network.
