Remember if you are going to share folders with another computer you need a password, and the same password on both computers. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Mike Boyd Sent: Monday, August 18, 2014 11:48 PM To: JAWS Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] log on screen in windows 7 Here are two possibilities for you. In this area, check the box for Do not require a password. 5. Save your changes. If this first option does not work, try the following. 1. Press the Windows Key + R to open the run dialogue box. 2. In this box, type the following, control userpasswords2, without the quotes. 3. Press enter. 4. In the resulting window, uncheck the box that says Users must enter a users name and password to use this computer. 5. Click on Apply. 6. Enter your users name and password. 7. Re: [JAWS-Users] log on screen in windows 7
Hi If you don't want to see the logon screen at all, it is best to do both of these options. The first one in power settings will eliminate the logon screen when you wake your computer from the screen saver. The second option of control userpasswords2 will eliminate the logon screen when you power on the computer. I have successfully used both of these options in Windows XP, 7, 8 and 8.1. The windows default is to show the logon screen unless there is only one user defined on the computer, and that user does not have a password. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Mike Boyd Sent: Tuesday, August 19, 2014 12:48 To: JAWS Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] log on screen in windows 7 Here are two possibilities for you. Open up the search box and type password. You will find what you want just by reviewing what pops up in the resulting searches. Re: [JAWS-Users] log on screen in windows 7
I would like to add the following to the conversation, prior to creating a windows 7 password windows went directly to the desktop. After I created a password of course I had to enter that information. However, I needed to take my PC in for a tech to look at so I deleted my password. Now, while I have not put back my passwor I still have to hit the enter key to go to the desktop. I'm not sure if I'm able to change this behavior. d On 8/19/2014 4:02 AM, David Ferrin wrote: Open up the search box and type password.
