Thank you. That worked, at least from the taskbar. Windows 10 hahah, no clue
how to have things show up on the system tray. I knew how in earlier
versions but not here.

actually, you don't need to sign out of skype, this means each time yu
access skype yu need to type in yur username and password.

once you have skype signed in,
while its running on the taskbar,
press applications on skype,
you should see,
sign out, quit skype, skype, pinn this program to taskbar, close window.
so if you use quit skype, the program should close, note, you can also do
this from the system tray.

once you enter on the quit skype, there's a message come up, just choose
don't show this or something like that.

As I continue to work on comforting my new lenovo laptop, I forgot how to
get skype out of the alt tab order. I sign out and even click cose etc but
when alt tabbing, it is still there, the sign in page for skype.

I'm using windows 10. I plan on updating it to the November update or
whenever that was tomorrow.

Thanks for any help.

Hi.

Is this skype for desktop?

If so focus that skype window, hit ctrl+comma. Wait about an hour for
the options screen to open. When it does, in the tree view you land on,
hit the end key so you start at the bottom since its closer, up arrow
from there looking for advanced settings. For me 4 presses is right. Tab
into that 3 times looking for "keep Skype in the Taskbar while I'm
Signed In". Uncheck that and hit enter.

That should make it so alt+f4 works. You can also close Skype
completely, find it in the system tray, hit the context key on it and
choose quit. Tell it that you really do want to do it and that's done.
It'll come back on reboot if it is set to.

Hi,
Are you sure you are closing the sign in box for Skype? After you alt+tab to
the Skype sign in page do and alt+f4 to close Skype. Then when you alt+tab
around it should not be in the tab order. If it is then you did not get it
closed. That is what I am guessing is going on.
