Re: [JAWS-Users] what anti-virus or security software works withJFW14

2013-03-25 Thread Baracco, Andrew W
I ran Norton internet Security on my previous machine, and my wife had
it on hers as well. We both kept it up to date, and we both ended up
with Trojans that rendered our machines useless. in this instance, there
is a such thing as a free lunch, and you can pay for a lot more than you
get.

Not true, because I have ben running MSE sense it came out. And it has
stopped everything that has come out including the aFBI virus.
Tech's that are paid in a shop tell you that so you buy from them.
Think they want you running something free when they can make money off
of you?

I'm at a point where I have to decide whether to upgrade my Eset
anti-virus
to their full blown security package or to opt for the free download of
McAfee from my ISP. Cost isn't the point, usability with JAWS is the
deciding factor.

I know some security packages don't work at all and some see JAWS as an
intruder. Its my hope, given how important our security is nowadays -
that
JAWS is working with some of the market leaders by now.

2013-03-24 Thread Melissa
I use Trend Micro. It has three levels of cost per year, depending on the
amount of protection you need, but you can install it on three computers.
It came on the recommendation of a friend of mine who is the CTO for a large
bank. It is completely accessible, and always has been. I have used it for
about 4 years, and have never once had a virus, not one. I have never had
any security problem of any kind, and I am a heavy computer user across
several networks.
It is the best program I have ever used.
Kind regards,
Melissa

My Mum died of breast cancer when I was 15 and she was only 46. In June I am
undertaking a 22 mile sponsored walk in the South Downs in aid of
Breakthrough Breast Cancer. They are working hard so that no family in the
future has to suffer such a terrible loss.

If you could please sponsor me by visiting my Just Giving page and give what
you can. All money goes to breakthrough Breast Cancer - I have to pay to
take part in the event. Thank you

2013-03-23 Thread Hans Pauli Sundstein

Hi.

Avast is'nt longer accessible, so do not use it, it is'nt possible as a Jaws
user to uninstall it either.

But AVG free is accessible with Jaws 14, this i am having running on 3 of my
pc's.

Try Microsoft security Essential.
It is free and very accessible.
Otherwise, you may try Avast antivirus.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] what anti-virus or security software works with JFW14

I'm at a point where I have to decide whether to upgrade my Eset anti-virus
to their full blown security package or to opt for the free download of
McAfee from my ISP. Cost isn't the point, usability with JAWS is the
deciding factor.

I know some security packages don't work at all and some see JAWS as an
intruder. Its my hope, given how important our security is nowadays - that
JAWS is working with some of the market leaders by now.

Eset nod32 ANTI-VIRUS SORT-OF WORKS WITH jaws CURSOR.

Using XP Pro 32 bit and Win7 64 bit machines.

Thanks for advice.
