Re: [JAWS-Users] windows live mail contact groups

2010-08-31 Thread Jim Rawls

David, the mess goes on, even worse.
I just posted the problem to the list. Look at it and see if you have any
ideas. I'm angry at myself and frustrated, because nothing seems to work. I
want to rebuild my contacts, because I lost them all. don't ask. frown. So,
I have a copy of my contacts in a folder, and I am trying to bring them
over, one at a time, and add them to my WLM contact list. Every time I put a
name in, and put the email address in, and tab to add, jaws says, proffered
email address again, and I tab to add, and could keep doing that forever. It
won't let me add these contacts. What the heck can I do. I can add contacts
from an open message, but it seems to be the only way now. Frown. Jim

well, gosh, I'm not sure how you got the duplicates in your windows live

were you able to create the new cadigory/group at least?

hello there;

I believe your looking for, new cadigory instead of the word group.

so, open your windows live contact list, ctrl+shift+c,

then press, ctrl+shift+g=new cadigory you will hear, new cadigory edit,

type in the name, and tab to save press enter.

now do a search for your newly created cadigory/group,
enter on it once you've found it,
now, tab until you land in the contact list,
now, when you find a contact which you would like to add to the newly
created cadigory/group
press application key, arrow to, copy new contact, sub-menu, right arrow
to open, and arrow to the name and press enter.

hope this helps.

Hi Jim;

okay, let's try this one step at a time.

1, open windows live mail,
now, bring up contact list, ctrl+shift+c,
now, you need to,
ctrl+shift+g=cadigory,
you will hear, cadigory edit,
type in the name of the you wish to have,
example, close friends,
now, tab to save button.
now, you should land back into your contact list.
if you shift+tab one time you should hear,
all contacts,
now, down arrow one time, you should see/hear the name of your newly created
group.

let me no if you get this far.

David, the mess goes on, even worse.
I just posted the problem to the list. Look at it and see if you have
any ideas. I'm angry at myself and frustrated, because nothing seems
to work. I want to rebuild my contacts, because I lost them all. don't
ask. frown. So, I have a copy of my contacts in a folder, and I am
trying to bring them over, one at a time, and add them to my WLM
contact list. Every time I put a name in, and put the email address
in, and tab to add, jaws says, proffered email address again, and I
tab to add, and could keep doing that forever. It won't let me add
these contacts. What the heck can I do. I can add contacts from an
open message, but it seems to be the only way now. Frown. Jim

hello there;

I believe your looking for, new cadigory instead of the word group.

so, open your windows live contact list, ctrl+shift+c,

then press, ctrl+shift+g=new cadigory you will hear, new cadigory
edit,

type in the name, and tab to save press enter.

now do a search for your newly created cadigory/group,
enter on it once you've found it,
now, tab until you land in the contact list,
now, when you find a contact which you would like to add to the
newly created cadigory/group
press application key, arrow to, copy new contact, sub-menu, right

Hi Jim;

okay, the next step is;

1, open windows live mail,
open your contacts, ctrl+shift+c
you should land in you're contacts list,
shift+tab you should hear,
all contacts,
down arrow you should see your newly created group name, press enter.

now, if the focus is lost and you don't land in you're list of contacts,
tab once, search edit, then shift+tab you should be placed back into the
list,

now, find a contact you wish to add to you're newly created group,

press applications key,

down arrow until you hear;
copy contact to sub-menu,
right arrow to open,

now, arrow to the name of your group, press enter.

bingo, you've added one contact to your group.

let me no if this helps.

Hello Jim;

well, if you go into your contacts, ctrl+shift+c,

and, if you go to view,

if you have your view set on list, you always will hear,
create a new category button
then the list of contacts will show.

if you change from list to;
tiles with preview, you won't hear,
create a new category button

as for the duplicates,
do you have a backup of your contact list?

also, when you go into your contacts, with the list checked in the view
menu,

when you land on the,
create a new category button
then you should hear, your first contact in the list,
do a ctrl+shift+g=new cadigory, you should hear,
create a new category edit button

just type the name of the group,

then tab to save, lets get that far first.

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] windows live mail contact groups

hello there;

I believe your looking for, new cadigory instead of the word group.

so, open your windows live contact list, ctrl+shift+c,

then press, ctrl+shift+g=new cadigory you will hear, new cadigory edit,

type in the name, and tab to save press enter.

now do a search for your newly created cadigory/group,
enter on it once you've found it,
now, tab until you land in the contact list,
now, when you find a contact which you would like to add to the newly
created cadigory/group
press application key, arrow to, copy new contact, sub-menu, right
arrow to open, and arrow to the name and press enter.

hope this helps.

I read and understood what is required to do. My issue is where is the
button or miniu under new contact related to groups. I don't find the
word group anywhere in this area in windows live mail.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] windows live mail contact groups

I have been trying to create a contact group in windows live mail. I
read the instructions from the internet and it seems really straight
forward. It says to use the shortcut key ctrl shift c and then click
on new and then click on contact groups but I don't see contact
groups or anything to do with groups as I tab/arrow around, or use
the jaws cursor. Any ideas please!
