Re: [JAWS-Users] IE 11

2016-01-06 Thread Neil Towery
What happens to those of us, who cannot upgrade to IE 11.0? I have an older
desktop computer, and I cannot get any version later than IE 8 to download
and install.
The Microsoft Accessibility Desk worked on it for almost an hour and half
today. They repeatedly tried to find ways to get IE 11.0 installed to no
avail.
I have a paid version of AVG as an anti-virus. I rarely use the computer
for anything on the internet, other than some banking and google or amazon
stuff. What should be of concern to me?
Several weeks ago, I tried to upgrade it to Windows 10. When I ran the FS
tool, the computer crashed badly. I had to go back to a restore point. FS
recommended I delete all FS products, then, try and upgrade to Windows 10.
However, the MS Help Desk did not think that was a good idea, given the big
crash.
I think there must be some hardware thing wrong with it. I plan to replace
the computer with a Windows 10 machine in the spring.
So, again, with what should I be concerned after January 12? Should I stay
away from doing any banking on it? Would using it for e-mail be OK?
Thanks. Neil

So, if I'm interpreting this correctly, those of us who are using Windows 7
should be sure to have IE 11.

I actually tried IE 11 last Summer, but ran into issues with entering text
into edit boxes that neither I, Jaws Technical Support, The Microsoft
Accessibility Hotline, or several others who tried to help me could resolve.

So, I have rolled back to IE 10.

Guess I'll have to try IE 11 at some point pretty soon here.

Of course, I have Firefox too.

Re: [JAWS-Users] IE 11 and flash player

2015-03-26 Thread Steve
Jorge,

As usual, your terse response isn't worth the space and time it takes to read
it.

I have encountered the same issues with IE11 and Flashplayer probably since
Fklash version 14. I have tried completely removing flash using Revo
Uninstaller and re-downloading it, and still get the same issue. I have
reviewed my security settings in IE11 and still have this issue.

I don't know if this is coincidental, but it started happening after I enabled
HTML5 on IE11.

The good news is that more sites are dropping flash in favor of html5 support.
In the rare instances that I need Flash, I go to the Firefox web browser which
still works with flash.

Now, to provide a bit more explanation. Microsoft revised the User-Agent
strings in IE11, and allegedly due to this, Adobe Flash is much more
problematic. It may work on some systems, and not on others. One suggestion
is to try to run the site you need to work with Flash in compatibility view.
As I mentioned above, use Firefox with Flash instead as a second choice.

Re: [JAWS-Users] IE 11

2015-02-18 Thread Trish
Hi,

when you dl something from IE, what I have to do is, press alt N then alt
s to get it started dl, it will automatically be placed in the download
folder that is the default unless you changed it.

Now in some cases, some sites use save target as... when if you first
tried to enter on a link to dl, and instead you are hearing jaws read back
to you all the stuff you had previously dl, then you have to do it another
way.
Press the applications key, on that link, do not enter on it,arrow to the
save target as... enter here, then the download will start. You may or may
not have to press the alt s sometimes I do sometimes I don't, these will
also be placed in your download folder.

Hi, all
When I go to a web page and put my email and password for audible it ask
me if I want to save it. I can not find the yes. Even when I use the jaws
curser. Help. Using window seven, jaws 15 and IE 11. Also looking for
antivirus that is accessible to jaws. I do not mind paying for it. It need
to remove malware.

My suggestion would be to look at the source code, if you know how to read

It might just be flash issues too.
Maybe a flash button?
Or clickable stuff, that sometimes can be a problem too.

well, my button problem is very strange. i can click on some buttons and

Hi,
It's like the luck of the day when a DL doesn't want to come down.
Especially with Adobe, the alt + N sometimes works and sometimes it does
not.
I think is more of a IE issue, than Jaws.
I never save passwords, HTH.

I am using Jaws 15, windows 7 home edition and IE 11. Whenever I want to
download a file the alt n does not work and whenever I want to save my
password, I press alt y and nothing happens. Is this a jaws issue?

Hi.

I am using Internet Explorer 11 on both a Windows 8.1 computer and on a
Windows 7 home premium computer.

On both it is together with Jaws 15, and it works fine!

In many case's i find, that it is more secure to work with, as a blind
person, because i seldom have to check up plenty times, if all is correct,
when i have filled something out on a formula on a webpage.

alright in IE 11, and JAWS reads fine.
I can stream radio stations just fine, but I have to use alt/tab to get
back into the page after starting the stream with WMP. My wife says the
page goes blank, after the stream starts.

On the pages that have just text, there haven't been any problems.

Hello,
According to Ryan, at Microsoft Accessibility, IE 11 being new is having
some compatibility issues, but that those will be resolved in time...just
like with the release of all browsers.

Fortunately pages are rendering properly for me with JAWS, but I'm still
experiencing a couple of issues. JAWS says new tab page whenever any new
page loads, which is odd but not a big deal. A bigger deal is that Flexible
Web does not work for me anymore. I can view/add/edit/delete rules, but
rules are never applied anymore.

Any one here using Win 8.1 so far? Has IE 11 been working for you? For me
either IE 11 isn't working well, or what it seems to me is more likely is
JAWS is being odd. The pages seem to be blank. But then again, it loads the
US Bing news page just fine. So perhaps it is IE 11. I'd like to see what's
going on with every one else though.

Not according to the person that I spoke to at the Microsoft accessibility
help line. He says that IE 11 is not compatible with more than a few web
sites, and the problem will be resolved in the near future.
Also, at the tech's suggestion, I tried the same web sites with another

fine. I submitted a report to FS earlier. I went to twit today to watch Frame

Hello,
According to Ryan, at Microsoft Accessibility, IE 11 being new is having
some compatibility issues, but that those will be resolved in time...just like
with the release of all browsers.

Fortunately pages are rendering properly for me with JAWS, but I'm still
experiencing a couple of issues. JAWS says new tab page whenever any new page
loads, which is odd but not a big deal. A bigger deal is that Flexible Web does
not work for me anymore. I can view/add/edit/delete rules, but rules are never
applied anymore.

Any one here using Win 8.1 so far? Has IE 11 been working for you? For me
either IE 11 isn't working well, or what it seems to me is more likely is JAWS
is being odd. The pages seem to be blank. But then again, it loads the US Bing
news page just fine. So perhaps it is IE 11. I'd like to see what's going on
with every one else though.

Then, who knows what either is wrong, or what I did. Come to think of it, it
was fine before. Like I said, I could watch the tech guy just fine. But now, it
aint loading right.

I installed 8.1, and IE 11 was included with the download, I did have a lot
of help from my wife, who does have some usable sight.
She said that IE 11 was there after the install. At this time I have had no
problems with, 8.1, or IE 11
I am using JAWS 15, Beta, 4106.
