If you continue to have Java-related problems, it should be worth a call to FS
tech support. They figured out that Java was causing a problem I was having.
They gave me the same instructions Don passed along to you, and so they might
be able to help in your specific situation.

Beverly,

Yes the accessbridge still exists. Since jdk 7, the accessbridge has been
a part of the regular jdk/jre installation.

On windows after installation, you need to go into ease of access
center -> use the computer without a display, and check the accessbridge
checkbox.

Click ok to exit the dialog and restart jaws.

Now as long as the particular java application is using the jdk associated
with the accessbridge or any other jdk from 7.0 or later, things should
work.

with screenreaders. I remember a while back people talking about access

use it to get into the auto dialer.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Java and Access Bridge

2012-11-15 Thread Hans Pauli Sundstein

Hi.

If you're running Java 7.06 or later, ... newest update is 7.09, Java Access
Bridge v. 2.0.3 is included.

Install e.g. both the 64 bit and the 32 bit version of Java, and than press
Windows-key+u and tab to the button: Use the computer without a screen and
press enter.
Tab to the checkbox Enable Java Access Bridge and press spacebar, and at
last tab to the ok button and press enter.
Close the open window you have left, and restart either Jaws or your
computer.

Now you should could use programs and homepages that uses Java, and where
Java Access Bridge is necessary.

Hans Pauli.

Geno,

If you read the README.txt that is in the group of files when you unpack
the zip file it will have a URL for where to go to find the installation
instructions.Actually, it sends you to a page, you should search on
access, then click on that link. I've done that and here is the link to
the page that actually gives the installation instructions.
