Re: [JAWS-Users] making JAWS sing?

2010-05-26 Thread Victoria Vaughan
Way back when Jaws used the Dec Talk Express, I remember it was able to sing
several songs. It could even warble on certen notes.

I remember 1 of the songs was Moonlight over Vermont, that name might be
wrong, but close enough. It was sooo qute on the warble!

It would be fun, but sertenly not productive.

May be Dancing Dots could make use of the singing screen reader for its Lime
Aloud Braille music program?

going to take this off list.

You don't need training to become a garbage collector. You just pick it up

Way back when Jaws used the Dec Talk Express, I remember it was able to
sing several songs. It could even warble on certen notes.

I remember 1 of the songs was Moonlight over Vermont, that name might be
wrong, but close enough. It was sooo qute on the warble!

It would be fun, but sertenly not productive.

May be Dancing Dots could make use of the singing screen reader for its
Lime Aloud Braille music program?

wondering, can one make JAWS sing?

It wasn't the screen reader which sang, it was the synthesizer. Dec-talk
was the synthesizer which did this. It indeed was the most versatile
synthesizer available to us.

It is amazing how four part harmony could be heard from the dec-talk. It
was amazing to listen to how well those blind programmers could program it.
Though, I understand, if one knew how, programming the dec-talk to sing or
to read stories employing it's 8 different voices and pitch changes wasn't
that difficult.

From: "Victoria Vaughan" Way back when Jaws used the Dec Talk Express, I remember it was
able to sing

several songs. It could even warble on certen notes.

I remember 1 of the songs was Moonlight over Vermont, that name
might be

wrong, but close enough. It was sooo qute on the warble!

It would be fun, but sertenly not productive.

May be Dancing Dots could make use of the singing screen reader

It is amazing how four part harmony could be heard from the dec-talk. It
was amazing to listen to how well those blind programmers could program
it. Though, I understand, if one knew how, programming the dec-talk to
sing or to read stories employing it's 8 different voices and pitch
changes wasn't that difficult.

Hi Kimsan;

To save one of these songs press enter on the song link and when it starts
playing go to your file menu with Alt + F, arrow down to "save as"and press
enter or just press the letter V after opening the file menu, tab to browse
to pick a place to save it, and finally tab to save and press spacebar. I

Jim:
Here's a jaws related question as it relates to the link. How can I save it
or can I even save it. I would like to listen to them later on down the road
without needing to go to the website.
Thanks.of

Hi Kimsan;

To save one of these songs press enter on the song link and when it starts
playing go to your file menu with Alt + F, arrow down to "save as"and
press
enter or just press the letter V after opening the file menu, tab to
browse

to pick a place to save it, and finally tab to save and press spacebar. I
just saved 2 of these songs so I know these steps work. I am running
XPSP3

Home & Jaws 10 latest. Hope this helps. Take care.
