Hi all,

running win7 64 home premium with professional jfw.

two issues I've found.

These are both after restarting the pc after the update was installed
successfully.

1. you are unable to use insert f11 to get to the system tray, it just
doesn't open the list of items.

2. I have a htm file with all my contacts, if i use an insert f to find
a contact the dialogue doesn't open.

Both these things were working yesterday before installing the new update.

I haven't installed any new software prior to update.

I am running as administrator when installing update.

My issue is the following: I simply cannot open emails in outlook
2010 that are HTML based. This is under windows 7 64-29t. I
thought the update would resolve this issue, but it hasn't. Jaws
simply locks up outlook whenever I try to open up HTML emails.
This is truly frustrating!

Hi,
I too am under windows 7 64 bit edition running latest build of jfw and have
just successfully reproduced the system tray issue. It seems to be related to
the issue with the insert f command and the insert f7 trouble I mentioned in
another post. If after invoking the system tray command you hit insert and
escape focus will come to your system tray as it used to do on its own. Here’s
hoping someone else reports this issue along with me.

2012-12-07 Thread David Ferrin
If I understand correctly you are invoking the system tray command and then
insert escape, at that point focus returns to the system tray. The fact is
it never occurred to me to do that but this is what is happening here as
well. The fact is though I don't really consider it a bug because simply
hitting the escape key again closes out the system tray. In other words in
my opinion it is not an issue.

Re: [JAWS-Users] two issues with the latest update.

2012-12-07 Thread Chris Hill
You don't have to use a laptop to try and use the capslock as the
modifier, it is right there in settings center. Worth a try, maybe
while you're on hold with tech support.

Removed jaws 14, reinstalled from FS site and from all links given on
list. The same issue came up with all installs. Nothing works with the
insert key and jaws acts like in some type of restriction mode. Got this
attitude with and without a log in screen on all boots.

I did see the sys tray issue once, but it fixed it self after another
restart. This fs auto updater is handy, but with the problems that are
happening with it, I'm considering downloading that 123 mb monster and
updating manually for next release.

Hi all,

running win7 64 home premium with professional jfw.

two issues I've found.

These are both after restarting the pc after the update was installed
successfully.

1. you are unable to use insert f11 to get to the system tray, it just
doesn't open the list of items.

2. I have a htm file with all my contacts, if i use an insert f to
find a
contact the dialogue doesn't open.

Both these things were working yesterday before installing the new
update.

I haven't installed any new software prior to update.

I am running as administrator when installing update.

Re: [JAWS-Users] two issues with the latest update.

2012-12-07 Thread Ryan West

Hello,

could it be that your lap top went back to factory defaults somehow and that
is causing the problem with the insert key? I only say this because on my
Hp laptop I had the same problems when it came from the factory and I had to
change something in the bios. It fixed part of the problem but not all of
it so I just decided to use an external keyboard and it solved the problem.
I would plug in an external keyboard if you have one and see if you are
still having the problem.

Good luck, Ryan West

They advised me to go back to an earlier version of jaws.

All,
There is a fix for this that should be out early next week. Apparently
something went wrong with one of their braille drivers.
