you will need to remove the bing tool bar

another MS infection level add in that Microsoft demands you have even if it
doesn't work well!

I used the windows clean up tool and then went through and hand deleted the

Chris,
Google is in the home page field in the general tab of internet options.
However conduit still comes up when I open IE9. Google is there on
another tab but when I open IE9 the focus is on conduit search, which
seems to also be called Bing. How can I get rid of conduit?

you could enter Google's address in the home page field.
That's all I do, so it comes up when I open IE 9.

Hi Greg,
I had a quick look on the web, and there seem to be several people having
problems with conduit.
A solution to the homepage problem which worked for someone was to disable a
conduit add-on which had been installed. To do this:
1. On the tools menu, choose manage add-ons. The manage add-ons dialog opens.
2. leave the toolbars and extensions radio button checked, and just tab to the
list view.
3. In the list view, if there are any add-ons which have conduit in their name
or publisher, disable them, using
their context menu.

Someone mentioned that this conduit stuff is included in the free version of
zonealarm unless you uncheck some check box.

Hi Greg,
I had a quick look on the web, and there seem to be several people having
problems with conduit.
A solution to the homepage problem which worked for someone was to
disable a

conduit add-on which had been installed. To do this:
1. On the tools menu, choose manage add-ons. The manage add-ons dialog
opens.
2. leave the toolbars and extensions radio button checked, and just tab
to

the list view.
3. In the list view, if there are any add-ons which have conduit in their
name or publisher, disable them, using
their context menu.

Someone mentioned that this conduit stuff is included in the free version
of

zonealarm unless you uncheck some check box.

David.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] want to change my default search program in IE9

Somehow my default search program in IE9 got changed to something called
conduit search. I do not like the way it works with Jaws and would like
to

go back to Google. However when in IE9 and I go to tools and then to
internet options and tab to the default search choice list Google is
listed

twice but for either choice it says not available or disabled. Can anyone
tell me how to go back to Google as my default search engine? I am using
the

latest Jaws 13.0.718 update on a windows7 64 bit computer.

thanks in advance for any help on this matter.

you could enter Google's address in the home page field.
That's all I do, so it comes up when I open IE 9.

Chris,
Google is in the home page field in the general tab of internet options.
However conduit still comes up when I open IE9. Google is there on another
tab but when I open IE9 the focus is on conduit search, which seems to also
be called Bing. How can I get rid of conduit?

Open Internet Options.

Hit alt-i to bring up the search providers dialog.

You can see your list of providers, disable anything you don't want, etc.

hmm I'm honestly not sure.
Have you tried finding Bing in the list of suggested search
providers and tabbed to the disable button?
