Re: [JAWS-Users] want to change my default search program in IE9
Hi Greg, I had a quick look on the web, and there seem to be several people having problems with conduit. A solution to the homepage problem which worked for someone was to disable a conduit add-on which had been installed. To do this: 1. On the tools menu, choose manage add-ons. The manage add-ons dialog opens. 2. leave the toolbars and extensions radio button checked, and just tab to the list view. 3. In the list view, if there are any add-ons which have conduit in their name or publisher, disable them, using their context menu. Re: [JAWS-Users] want to change my default search program in IE9
Open Internet Options. Hit alt-i to bring up the search providers dialog. You can see your list of providers, disable anything you don't want, etc. Steve - Original Message - From: Greg Washington gregw...@comcast.net To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Thursday, February 09, 2012 6:08 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] want to change my default search program in IE9 Chris, Google is in the home page field in the general tab of internet options. However conduit still comes up when I open IE9. Google is there on another tab but when I open IE9 the focus is on conduit search, which seems to also be called Bing. How can I get rid of conduit? -Original Message- From: Chris Smart Sent: Thursday, February 09, 2012 4:04 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] want to change my default search program in IE9 you could enter Google's address in the home page field. hmm I'm honestly not sure. Have you tried finding Bing in the list of suggested search providers and tabbed to the disable button? -- CTS MASTERING: PROFESSIONAL MIXING AND MASTERING! http://www.ctsmastering.com Dropbox: Have your stuff when you need it. 2GB is free http://db.tt/bQ2GuIt For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
