[JBoss-dev] [JBoss IDE] - Problem on Build CVS Source Code of JBoss-IDE!
Hello, everybody! I have checked out the source codes from CVS server, and in my Eclipse M8 I built them successfully. But when I checked the generated "org.jboss.ide.eclipse_1.2.330.bin.dist.zip" file, I found that there was only some XML files in it, and the zip file's size is only about 20K. I think there should be some jar files in it at least. After I extracted the content of the zip file into my Eclipse M8 Dir and launch Eclipse, I cannot found any clue of JBoss-IDE. What's wrong? Thank you! [JBoss-dev] [Mail Services] - Re: POP3 and TLS
The changes have been commited. So far I have not been able to find a client allowing me to test it. I have left it disabled in jboss-service.xml for now, so at least it does not break anything. The only client I found supporting TLS was Eudora, but once the CAPA command returns STLS as one of its capabilities it simply issues a QUIT command and exits (rather than issuing the STLS command). So, if anybody knows of any clients supporting TLS for POP (Rather than SSL) please let me know, or try it out yourselves. still plodding along on this... i think its coming along well, though. hope to commit something in the not too distant future and have an impact on M1. my notion of 'multi-system' was rather 'multi-subsystem' where in addition to connecting as a client to the server on port 9000, it would also put up a 'dummy server' on port 25 in the background to make sure certain test messages got delivered via jboss-mail within a specified period of time (including bounces). doesn't seem too difficult to do. Yeah I think we should have SSL as well as TLS. Of course I thought they were the same thing doh.. It seemed logical at the time to divide thread pools by protocol and port. Would it now be more logical to make thread pools a seperate concept to be shared among port/protocol? By default TLS and SSL should be disabled. I plan on putting instructions here: http://jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=MailServicesInstallingM1 as well as include them in the release. The reason being is that I don't want people to think they have TLS/SSL without setting up a keystore, etc. View the original post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=3830183#3830183 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=3830183 --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of GenToo technologies. Its a great idea. For unit test environments I'd rather not run on standard ports. The reasons should be obvious. Port 9000 is likely used by nothing, port 25 is likely monitored by sendmail or something. If we run the unit tests on port 9000, 9001,9002,9004 we have a lot less pain. I think this can wait till after M1. I'm feeling we're ready for M1 with a few build changes and documentation. If I have understood you correctly, I think it makes sense for the protocol to depend on the thread pools, rather than the thread pools depending on the protocol. Maybe we could end up having just one server MBean, and define lists of secure and non-secure ports for the protocol to listen on and then on startup of the protocol make the server listen on the ports required if you get what I mean? I'm also working on completing the docs for M1 (http://jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=MailServicesInstallingM1) and can use some help here. The main thing I need help on is the TLS support. I've been testing with satisfactory results, but am going out of town (to Atlanta yuck) to conduct a training. Lets aim for Milestone 1 release candidate 1 by the end of the week. We won't widely advertise it but I'll be installing it on my system as my primary mail server. If you don't hear from me, check and make sure its not your fault haha! Meanwhile lets start specing out M2. Please don't target things for M2 that you couldn't personally complete/help complete by around May 15. I think an essential part of this is going to be the Mail List support. [JBoss-dev] [Mail Services] - M2 Spec'ing
Let's discuss what we want for M2: 1. Mail Lists. I'll head this up. Once we have this ready we can start using Mail Services to run Marc's newsletter which should give us some good data on how well we handle volume. 2. POP/SSL. Who wants this? It seems that we can't just do starttls. 3. Figure out Security - We need to move towards something that makes sense. 4. Test kit. We should all take part in this of course. 5. Chainable Mail Listeners. Mail Listeners should be either top level (like now) where ALL send the mail or chainable in some kind of pipeline where they can consume or not consume the mail. This should be 6. Nukes integration. Once we get this we can start working on having the JBoss forums go two way. This will give us the mother of all real world test cases. We can live or die here. 7. Calendaring - Integrate the third party code. 8. Other backends for user repository (or whatever takes its place): EJB, LDAP, ?? What else? Anything that shouldn't or can't be on the list? What do you guys want to work on? Can we do all of this inside of a month? Hi I managed to run the Fibo example but only by making the lookup as context.lookup("ejb/tutorial/Fibo"); For some reason context.lookupLink("java:/comp/env/ejb/Fibo"); didn't work, it produced: 18:58:31,625 ERROR [Engine] StandardWrapperValve[ComputeServlet]: Allocate exception for servlet ComputeServlet javax.servlet.ServletException: Lookup failed I did manage to see - by using context.list("java:/comp/env/ejb") - that there exists in jndi: Fibo: javax.naming.LinkRef And yet the lookupLink("java:/comp/env/ejb/Fibo"); did not succeed. The initial context is instantiated without parameters, a practice which differs from ejb-textbook examples. Obviously the constructor gets the necessary parameters from the ejb-container? Not sure where you said this but you said you weren't sure that multiple messages were delivered when two receipients were in the same domain (meaning andy at superlink and acoliver at superlink). I said I'd test that. I tested it and it worked. Nice work dude. [JBoss-dev] [Nukes Development] - Re: grr - just realized something
I didn't like the Post Nuke database naming conventions. When I did the downloads module I did the module from the ground up using my own naming convetions ( which was using downloadId instead of pn_id or somthing like that.) I am also redoing the polls database and renaming all the fields like this. I am redoing it a little so polls can also be displayed in a list on the main page instead of just in a block. I like Juliens point that we need to not stick with the Post Nuke arcitecture and base are arcitecture off the power of the jboss server. [JBoss-dev] [Nukes Development] - Re: Velocity Implementation - where to put Velocity.jar?
There's another point to consider here as well. Velocity is a well known templating system. You open the door to a sizeable crew of Java developers by including it as an option within Nukes. Also, the presentation layer aspect of Nukes is still a little esoteric. You can consider this an uninformed comment, I've spent some time writing my own theme in Nukes and learning to accept its various formatting idiosyncracies. This was a frustrating experience - I don't want to learn yet another technique for doing something simple like controlling the way objects can be given as output to a page Nick View the original post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=3830236#3830236 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=3830236 --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of GenToo technologies.
