[JBoss-dev] [EJB on JBoss] - Re: JBOSS and apache FOP

2004-06-28 Thread ionel
HI there,

"Can't connect to X11 window server using ':0.0' as the value of the DISPLAY variable."

Sorry to be that pragmatic but : did you chech your DISPLAY environment variable ?

looks like it is :0.0 but [xxx.yyy.zzz.www|fqdn]:0.0 was expected ...

[JBoss-dev] [Tomcat] - How to enable servlet 2.3 class loading

2004-06-28 Thread enesterov
Hi everybody,

I am having troubles with running more then one similar web application in the single
instance of Jboss-Tomcat bundle.
The JBoss 3.2.1 book clearly says that if "servlet 2.3 class loading model is enabled
it will first load from the war WEB-INF/{classes,lib}".

Does anybody know where I can enable this class loading model.

Thanks,
Ed

[JBoss-dev] [EJB on JBoss] - JBOSS and apache FOP

2004-06-28 Thread neptune5
Hi All

Think this is missing sun class in the jboss application anyway. This only goes wrong
when trying to print the pdf version works ok. But looking at this error it looks like
theres a missing sun class. By the way this process works ok on the machine - its only
when processed thru jboss it goes wrong.
Jboss version is 3.2.1 Java is 1.4_05..

the bold bit below is my programs. Which work as standalone.

Hi,

the EJB-QL allows the use of operators like <= and >=
but this does not work with Jboss 3.2.4.

Here is my query (ejb-jar.xml):

and here the error message:

Then by the spec, it's not allowed. You should use JBossQL
instead.

What difference would this make?
It is not defining a port binding here, it is defining which
port to use.

Even if the VM running HAJNDI on 1100 was down, it would use
discovery to locate an instance running HAJNDI.

In fact, you could leave out the java.naming.provider.url
altogether and it would still work.

Summary: PersistenceManager broken in 3.2.4 with mysql

Initial Comment:
My environment is as follows:

- Redhat 9
- JBoss 3.2.4
- Mysql server on the same machine, version 4.0.18
- Sun JDK 1.4.2_02
- Mysql connector stable 3.0.8

I was porting an existing application from 3.2.3 to
3.2.4 and suddently, everything related to JMS was
broken. There is an initial discussion on the dev's list:

http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=51227

As suggested I had a look to the source of
PersistenceManager. Nothing has changed up this point.

On my side, I didn't change *nothing* except the Jboss
version.

Any clue what's happening? Why the returned number of
rows is suddently 0?

Any further question, just ask. I could provide a small
app to reproduce the problem if needed ...

Your stacktrace shows a tx rollback because the row no longer
exists in the database. This would be a bug in a properly
configured
system, it would imply two different receivers got the same
message.

A bug report is not the place to ask for "clues" on every
error message
you receive from JBoss.

If you read "READ THIS FIRST"
http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=43573
you will find information on how to debug this.

Your assertion that that nothing changed in the persistence
mananger
is factually incorrect. There were a number of modifications
between 3.2.3 and 3.2.4 including a source code reformat to
match JBoss standards.

Additionally, if you use search in the JBossMQ forum you
will find
many posts about mysteriously disappearing records.

I'm not going to answer more directly, because I don't want to
encourage you to try to jump the free support queue by reporting
unsubstantiated bugs.

Summary: JBoss EJB-QL numeric comparison error

Initial Comment:
Hi,

the EJB-QL allows the use of operators like <= and >=
but this does not work with Jboss 3.2.4.

Here is my query (ejb-jar.xml):

and here the error message:

org.jboss.ejb.plugins.cmp.ejbql.ParseException:
Encountered "<=" at line 6, column 68. Was expecting
one of:
">" ...
"<" ...
"=" ...
"<>" ...
)

Greetings,
Tolja

[JBoss-dev] [ jboss-Bugs-981353 ] Odd javax.ejb.Handle.getEJBObject() behavior

Category: JBossServer

Submitted By: Jorgen Sigvardsson (sigvardsson)
Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody)
Summary: Odd javax.ejb.Handle.getEJBObject() behavior

Initial Comment:
For some, to me, unknown reason,
javax.ejb.Handle.getEJBObject() just will not work for on
JBoss 3.2.4 and 3.2.5. The offending code looks like this:
   InitialContext initial = new InitialContext();
   TestSessionHome home = (TestSessionHome)
initial.lookup("java:comp/env/ejb/TestSessionEJB");
   TestSession sess = home.create();
   Handle h = sess.getHandle();
   TestSession sess2 = (TestSession)h.getEJBObject
(); // Blows up

The h.getEJBObject() call results in a chain of
exceptions, starting with a null pointer exception inside
org.jboss.ejb.plugins.AbstractTxInterceptorBMT.invokeNe
xt(). This used to work with JBoss 3.2.3 (in fact, I'm
counting on that it should work!)

Attached is a jar file containing the source code and a
readily deployable EAR-file for verification.

The following information is a JBoss boot log, and the
exception stack trace.

[JBoss-dev] [JBoss IDE] - Jboss ide 1.2.4 question

2004-06-28 Thread phaldule
Hi
I downloaded JBoss ide 1.2.4 for eclipse 3.0 final release. it installed correctly and
offered me the option to create templates of Entity CMP ejb
Entity BMP ejb in my java code
but I am missing the code completion for ejb.* xdoclet tags. Like with eclipse 2.1
when I type ejb. and press the ctrl+ space button i used to get options in tag
completions like ejb.dao ejb.pk etc which are not present in 1.2.4 . The only option
which i am getting is ejb.home
does anybody why are the ejb tags not working
thanks
prasad

Summary: PersistenceManager broken in 3.2.4 with mysql

Initial Comment:
My environment is as follows:

- Redhat 9
- JBoss 3.2.4
- Mysql server on the same machine, version 4.0.18
- Sun JDK 1.4.2_02
- Mysql connector stable 3.0.8

I was porting an existing application from 3.2.3 to
3.2.4 and suddently, everything related to JMS was
broken. There is an initial discussion on the dev's list:

http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=51227

As suggested I had a look to the source of
PersistenceManager. Nothing has changed up this point.

On my side, I didn't change *nothing* except the Jboss
version.

Any clue what's happening? Why the returned number of
rows is suddently 0?

Any further question, just ask. I could provide a small
app to reproduce the problem if needed ...

[JBoss-dev] [AOP on JBoss (Aspects/JBoss)] - ProgrammaticSecurit

2004-06-28 Thread kado0002
I began with the implementation last week and I think that I understand
your idea.

But why must I push the Security Manager ? ( your code:
ctx.pushSecurityDomain(...) //push the SecurityManager and realm
Mapping)
I must push RealmMapping, thats clear. ( Because of the
doesUserHaveRole method) But why the SecurityManager?
And the other question is how to get references of SecurityManger and
RealmMapping?
Must I create a constructor pointcut for these objects, to access
securityManager and realmMapping in my ProgrammaticSecurityInterceptor
invoke method ?
I think the ProgrammaticSecurityInterceptor must be integrated in the
SecurityInterceptorChain.

[JBoss-dev] [JBoss IDE] - Re: JBOss IDE plugin problem

2004-06-28 Thread letiemble
Hi,

Eclipse 3.0.0M4 is an old release. It is not supported by the current version of
JBoss-IDE. You should upgrade to the latest one (Eclipse 3.0 final).

Laurent.

[JBoss-dev] [JBoss IDE] - Re: Doclet

2004-06-28 Thread danilo_lr
What I want to know is how jboss-ide create the list of doclets it show when I click
on the add doclet on the XDoclet configurations dialog.
I can then add a new doclet task there.
The commons attributes task is a very simple one so I do not think this should be a
big job.
I know I can use only ant to make this, in fact this is the solution I am using right
now.
But I want to have all on the same configuration.

[JBoss-dev] [JBoss IDE] - Re: Doclet

2004-06-28 Thread gorano
I am personally using JBoss IDE only for running the server (local or remote) inside
Eclipse and getting the useful auto completion of XDoclet.

To get full control over external tasks I recommend you to switch over to Ant and
build your own build files.
