Anyway, the calling Tx is in effect and this method call is only to get the object corresponding to the foreign key. We could just check for a null value and substitute no-method instead. This would make boolean reading return false, so it would create a write lock and use the same Tx as it was called with. As stated previously, it appears that the system can not find the javax.xml.rpc.encoding.TypeMapping class. The class does appear to be in the eclipse\plugins\org.jboss.ide.eclipse.jdt.ws.core_1.4.0 plugin. The jaxrpc-api.jar file which contains the class appears in both the lib\wsi-1.0 and libsrc\wsi-1.0 subdirectories. I did notice that the plugin.xml file in the root directory of the plugin referenced the jaxrpc file as: library name=lib/wsi-1.0/jaxrpc.jar export name=*/ /library Which lists the incorrect name for the jar file. I tried changing it to: library name=lib/wsi-1.0/jaxrpc-api.jar export name=*/ /library But it did not appear to make a difference. Hi, This message points out that the maximum connections available in your pool has been reached. You should make sure you're freeing them properly to avoid leaks. [JBoss-dev] [JBossWS] - JbossWS with WS-Security implementation XWS
Hi Is it possible to integrate XWS in JbossWS? XWS-Security comes with JWSDP 1.4. - Serverside To secure the Server by XWS , I had to set the -security Flag of wscompile, with the parameter of an sign and-or encryption xml configfile. If I am right the Security Serverside Handlers are set automaticaly during the compile process. So how can I set the -security flag in JbossWS ? Clientside On ClientSide the Handlers are set by an Class called SecurityConfigurator which becomes the Service Stub Implementation class. And through this Class the Handler, for filter certificate etc., is added to the Client. So I need the Servicestub Impl class to compile my Client, I know could create it by wsdl with axis or jax-rpc, but I know also that this is not the same like the JbossWS created Stub. And what happened wit the JbossWS specific EJB-Container Authentification if I secure my Message, can I add my handler before the authentification? So is it possible? bye Andr View the original post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bbop=viewtopicp=3853861#3853861 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bbop=postingmode=replyp=3853861 --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: Sybase ASE Linux Express Edition - download now for FREE LinuxWorld Reader's Choice Award Winner for best database on Linux. http://ads.osdn.com/?ad_idU88alloc_id065op=click ___ JBoss-Development mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/jboss-development

[JBoss-dev] [AOP on JBoss (Aspects/JBoss)] - Unbound field advice binding
Hi, I try tu use dependency injection pattern to provide InitialContext reference to some class. The marker annotation looks like this: | @Target( ElementType.FIELD ) | @Retention( RetentionPolicy.RUNTIME ) | public @interface Injection { | } and the target class: public class DAOFactoryImpl implements DAOFactory { | @Injection private InitialContext initialContext; | | public DAOFactoryImpl() { | try { | DataSource dataSource = (DataSource)initialContext.lookup( java:jdbc/DB ); | ... | } | catch( NamingException e ) { | ... | } | } | | ... | } The XML binding: aop | | aspect class=InitialContextAspect scope=PER_JOINPOINT/ | | bind pointcut=get(javax.naming.InitialContext *-@Injection) | advice name=get aspect=InitialContextAspect/ | /bind | | /aop and the aspect class itself: public class InitialContextAspect { | public Object get( FieldReadInvocation invocation ) throws Throwable { | Field field = invocation.getField(); | if( field.getType().isAssignableFrom( InitialContext.class ) ) { | ... | } | return fieldReadInvocation.invokeNext(); | } | } | When I deploy classes and aspects into JBoss 4.0 everything seems ok (no errors in log), but web console displays my advice in 'Unbound bindings' node: | file:/C:/Java/jboss-4.0.0/server/tomcat5/tmp/deploy/tmp23014jboss-aop.xml0 | | Advice Binding | | Pointcut Expression: get(javax.naming.InitialContext *-@Injection) Best regards, Szczepan Kuzniarz View the original post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bbop=viewtopicp=3853869#3853869 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bbop=postingmode=replyp=3853869 --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: Sybase ASE Linux Express Edition - download now for FREE LinuxWorld Reader's Choice Award Winner for best database on Linux. http://ads.osdn.com/?ad_id=5588alloc_id=12065op=click ___ JBoss-Development mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/jboss-development

I didn't see anything about JSP debugging in the 1.4 release notes so I assumed it was not included. I am eagerly awaiting this feature so if somebody knows how to use it with the 1.4 release, please let us know. [JBoss-dev] [AOP on JBoss (Aspects/JBoss)] - Re: Unbound field advice binding
The console is a little weird... It will only show bindings for LOADED classes. If you execute the code, you should see the bindings. If you execute the code, and the aspect is is UNBOUND in the webconsole, then there is a bug in the webconsole. ANOTHER THING: By default, class load time transformations are turned off, so your aspect may not be instrumenting the code. Either use the precompiler or read this doco: http://docs.jboss.org/aop/aspect-framework/reference/en/html/running.html#jboss I suggest using the precompiler because currently, load-time transformation is a HUGE memory hog. Let me know if any of these fix the problem Regards Bill View the original post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bbop=viewtopicp=3853873#3853873 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bbop=postingmode=replyp=3853873 --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: Sybase ASE Linux Express Edition - download now for FREE LinuxWorld Reader's Choice Award Winner for best database on Linux. http://ads.osdn.com/?ad_id=5588alloc_id=12065op=click ___ JBoss-Development mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/jboss-development
[JBoss-dev] [JBossWS] - WebService Address
Hi, I developed an WebService. To manage this is use among others wscompile to generate the *.wsdl and mapping.xml. When I deploy the service on my local JBoss, all works fine. But utilizing it remote, by calling the service from another machine I got an connectionException. This I guess comes form the wrong address location of my service: Fragment of my callable webservice-wsdl: | ... | service name=MyService |port binding=tns:ServiceEndpointBinding name=ServiceEndpointPort | soap:address location=http://localhost:8080/service/dosth; / | /port | /service | /definitions | in the deploy wsdl-file only stands : | service name=MyService | port name=ServiceEndpointBinding binding=tns:ServiceEndpointPort | soap:address location=REPLACE_WITH_ACTUAL_URL//port/service/definitions | which is replace by localhost. I tried: a) changing directly this REPLACE_WITH_ACTUAL_URL by e.g. http://myserver:8080/ b) by using the argument of wscompile wscompile -httpproxy:myserver:8080 but nothing worked. How can I arrange it that my webservice it callable/usealbe not form localhost??? (why doesn't b) work?) Thanks in advance. [JBoss-dev] [Deployers on JBoss (Deployers/JBoss)] - Hot deploy and session serialization
Hi, I want to prevent mistakes in our application. To do this, I need to disable the session serialization. When JBoss server is shutdown or when a hot deploy occurs, the sessions are serialized. If the user browser is not killed, the sessions will be deserialized after the JBoss server start up of immediately after the hot deploy to be effective. All the attributes that are not Serializable (and it is not easy to put them Serializable) in the session will be no more available. Some of those attributes are mandatory in our application to run correctly. In this case I need to disable the session serialization. Is it possible? Thanks, Gael. [JBoss-dev] [AOP on JBoss (Aspects/JBoss)] - Re: synchronized methods in instrumented class
Of course, J2EE TCK may not explicitly reference Aspects or AOP instrumentation. I even wonder if J2EE will ever talk about AOP as it may sound a little too invasive/disruptive to let bean developers to play with. But does JBoss plan to implement the strict constraints of J2EE constructs especially the ones that related to thread manipulation mandated by the TCK and so prevent the deployment of J2EE application that may blatantly violate those constraints ? Something that both weblogic and websphere try to enfore today. Or is it the case that the TCK does not require application servers to be so precise in behavior allowing JBoss to be more tolerant as it is right now ? Sorry, I have'nt really had time or patience to read through and digest all of the Specs. This tolerant behavior is a double-edged sword, it definitely helps developers to maybe successfully accomplish certain features via a path that J2EE may not completely agree with. But it hampers productivity of developers who most commonly use JBoss for development but may have unknowingly violated some J2EE constraints only to realize much later in the game during the porting stage. I guess the answer could lie in those J2EE verfier tools and how diligently it is used and monitored. Also most of the time the disparate class-loader architectures end up being the culprits. [JBoss-dev] [JBossWeb] - Session object is renewed on page change
Hi everyone, I am new to building web applications with JSP/JBoss and am having some problems with the JSP session object that I wonder if anyone can help with. On my application login page I use the following call to set a UserName attribute on the session object: session.setAttribute(UserName, username from login form); I want to be able to use this attribute on subsequent pages to display a welcome message to the user. So I expected to be able to get this information by calling: session.getAttribute(UserName); The problem is that this method call returns null instead of the value i'm expecting. Digging a bit deeper using the likes of session.isNew() and session.getId() shows that a new session is being created for pages subsequent to the login page. Seems like I need to somehow group the pages together but i'm not sure how to do this any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated... [JBoss-dev] [Nukes Development] - Multipart encoding problem
Hi developers, there is a problem in nukes1.1RC3. Take a look at the contructor of org.jboss.nukes.servlet.MultipartRequest. The parameters values are extracted from upload fields with the standard encoding, ignoring the configured character set. In fact, the zero parameters version of org.apache.commons.fileupload.FileItem is called. This is the code (with my comments in bold): public MultipartRequest(HttpServletRequest request, int sizeMax) throws FileUploadException { super(request); // Create a new file upload handler DiskFileUpload upload = new DiskFileUpload(); // Set upload parameters upload.setSizeMax(sizeMax); upload.setSizeThreshold(sizeMax); upload.setRepositoryPath(System.getProperty(java.io.tmpdir)); // Get request parameters for (Enumeration en = request.getParameterNames();en.hasMoreElements();) { String name = (String)en.nextElement(); parameters.put(name, request.getParameterValues(name)); } // Merge with upload fields for (Iterator i = upload.parseRequest(request).iterator();i.hasNext();) { FileItem item = (FileItem)i.next(); if (item.isFormField()) { // NEXT LINE IS PROBABLY WRONG parameters.put(item.getFieldName(), new String[]{item.getString()}); } else { files.put(item.getFieldName(), new UploadedFile(item.getContentType(), item.get())); } } } Thanks in advance, Marco View the original post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bbop=viewtopicp=3853893#3853893 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bbop=postingmode=replyp=3853893 --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: Sybase ASE Linux Express Edition - download now for FREE LinuxWorld Reader's Choice Award Winner for best database on Linux. http://ads.osdn.com/?ad_id=5588alloc_id=12065op=click ___ JBoss-Development mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/jboss-development

[JBoss-dev] [JBossWS] - Deploying Web Service with Modular WSDL
Hello - I'm in the process of trying to deploy a web service that uses a modular WSDL file. Our company has published xml schema and abstract WSDL documents in a central repository, and I am attempting to provide an implementation of that abstract service. My concrete WSDL document appropriately imports the abstract definitions as follows: wsdl:import namespace=x location=http://content.company.com/xml/services/abstract-service.wsdl/ When this concrete service is deployed into JBossWS, the concrete WSDL file is rewritten as follows: wsdl:import namespace=x location=/concrete-service/Service?WSDLresource=http://content.company.com/xml/services/abstract-service.wsdl/ Unfortunately, this is not a valid location, and clients can not generate an appropriate stub. Even when I make copies of the abstract WSDL definition and XML schema documents and place them in the WAR file, my location is still relative to the server (i.e. location=/concrete-service/Service?WSDLresource=abstract-service.wsdl). Many tools are unable to handle the server relative path (i.e. XmlSpy and Visual Studio). Is it possible to generate a absolute URL when the published WSDL file is rewritten? Thanks - Shawn Dahlen Lockheed Martin View the original post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bbop=viewtopicp=3853911#3853911 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bbop=postingmode=replyp=3853911 --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: Sybase ASE Linux Express Edition - download now for FREE LinuxWorld Reader's Choice Award Winner for best database on Linux. http://ads.osdn.com/?ad_id=5588alloc_id=12065op=click ___ JBoss-Development mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/jboss-development
[JBoss-dev] [JBoss IDE (dev)] - Re: Step debugging JSP pages
Hi, I have just checked : JSP Debugging is available in JBoss-IDE 1.4.0. Here are the steps to debug : - In the project properties, be sure to enable JSP compilation support - Add the breakpoints in the JSP Files - Deploy your application to the server if necessary - If you have launch JBoss inside Eclipse, the Eclipse Debugger is ready. When executing the JSP, the debugger will stop on breakpoints. You can connect the Eclipse Debugger to a remote server through JPDA interface. This allows to debug JSP inside Tomcat for example. The memory is not released. What is created is Javassist data structures. I can't release the memory because class transformation happens at class load time. [JBoss-dev] [AOP on JBoss (Aspects/JBoss)] - NPE on redeploy (inside aspect library code)
I have a simple webapp that makes use of only the TX Apsect libraries for demarcation. I am using both the Annotation compiler and the AOPC compilier, packaging up the results in a WAR, and deploying to a JBoss 4.0 server. I have upgraded to FINAL code. My issues is that on startup, or first deployment of my WAR file, my code, and the TX interceptors work great. However, once I redploy my WAR file, I get a NullPointerException in my original method signature (which is now the new interceptor method). So, if I have a method called saveOrganization() that has been intercepted, after a redployment, I will get the following stacktrace: | 2:34:39,168 ERROR [org.osn.jext.framework.util.RequestInterceptor:124] java.lang.NullPointerException | at org.osn.homefront.app.service.HomefrontService.saveOrganization(HomefrontService.java) | at org.osn.homefront.app.OrgSignUp2.submit(OrgSignUp2.java:559) | at org.osn.homefront.app.OrgSignUp2.pageMain(OrgSignUp2.java:63) | at org.osn.jext.framework.JSPPageContent.runPageMain(JSPPageContent.java:45) | As you can see, the line number is missing for where the NPE happens at, since it is the new instumented code. For shits giggles, I decompiled that method and here is the code: | public void saveOrganization(Organization organization) | throws PersistenceException, BusinessValidationException | { | if(((Advisor) (aop$classAdvisor$aop)).doesHaveAspects || _instanceAdvisor != null _instanceAdvisor.hasInstanceAspects) | { | org.jboss.aop.advice.Interceptor ainterceptor[] = aop$MethodInfo_saveOrganization5875559486684723374.interceptors; | if(_instanceAdvisor != null) | ainterceptor = _instanceAdvisor.getInterceptors(aop$MethodInfo_saveOrganization5875559486684723374.interceptors); | HomefrontService_saveOrganization_5875559486684723374_OptimizedMethodInvocation homefrontservice_saveorganization_5875559486684723374_optimizedmethodinvocation = | new HomefrontService_saveOrganization_5875559486684723374_OptimizedMethodInvocation(aop$MethodInfo_saveOrganization5875559486684723374, ainterceptor); | homefrontservice_saveorganization_5875559486684723374_optimizedmethodinvocation.arg0 = organization; | homefrontservice_saveorganization_5875559486684723374_optimizedmethodinvocation.setTargetObject(this); | homefrontservice_saveorganization_5875559486684723374_optimizedmethodinvocation.typedTargetObject = this; | homefrontservice_saveorganization_5875559486684723374_optimizedmethodinvocation.setAdvisor(aop$classAdvisor$aop); | homefrontservice_saveorganization_5875559486684723374_optimizedmethodinvocation.invokeNext(); | } else | { | org$osn$homefront$app$service$HomefrontService$saveOrganization$aop(organization); | } | } | Now, looking at that, I am not sure exactly where the NPE would be happening at, but the first suspect to me is the aop$classAdvisor$aop variable, since it is static. I wonder if it is getting blown away on the redploy and not set back up properly, since the static constructor might not get ran again? Thoughts? calling Class. Caller invocations are for use in cases where the execution pointcuts cannot be used, and this functionality is not present in the normal execution invocations either. In my opinion interceptors should not know anything about the caller object, but I could be convinced :-) I'll let Bill decide if the documentation is a typo or if this is something we should add. Caller invocations should be able to reference the called and calling object. You can currently reference the called object by getTargetObject. We should add a getCallingObject method to CalledByMethod invocation classes. [JBoss-dev] [ jboss-Bugs-1054894 ] AbstractWebDeployer doesn't add WebRoleRefPermission to JACC
Bugs item #1054894, was opened at 2004-10-26 15:08 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by starksm You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detailatid=376685aid=1054894group_id=22866 Category: JBossWeb Group: v4.0 Status: Closed Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Submitted By: Stephen Kinser (skinser) Assigned to: Scott M Stark (starksm) Summary: AbstractWebDeployer doesn't add WebRoleRefPermission to JACC Initial Comment: The JACC 1.0 specification in section 3.1.3.2 states that for each security-role-ref that appears in the web.xml deployment descriptor a corresponding WebRoleRefPermission must be added to the appropriate role. The attached example has a servlet with a security-role-ref element as part of one of the servlets. The attached log contains entries for the JBossPolicyProvider and these entries indicate that no WebRoleRefPermission objects were added. The AbstractWebDeployer doesn't add WebRoleRefPermission to the JACC PolicyProvider, but it does add WebResourcePermission and WebUserDataPermission objects appropriately. The provided webapp.zip contains the webapp.ear file along with modifications to JBoss deployment descriptors. The zip also contains the log files. To duplicate the issue, take a fresh install of JBoss 4.0.0 and unzip the webapp.zip file, then run JBoss' default server. Look at the log and see that no WebRoleRefPermission objects were added to the JACC policy provider. -- Comment By: Scott M Stark (starksm) Date: 2004-11-04 11:13 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=175228 This has been fixed for 4.0.1RC1. -- Comment By: Scott M Stark (starksm) Date: 2004-10-28 08:49 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=175228 I have corrected this and should have it in the 4.0 branch today. -- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detailatid=376685aid=1054894group_id=22866 --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: Sybase ASE Linux Express Edition - download now for FREE LinuxWorld Reader's Choice Award Winner for best database on Linux. http://ads.osdn.com/?ad_id=5588alloc_id=12065op=click ___ JBoss-Development mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/jboss-development

Many of the javax.naming.Context interface methods, e.g. bind, rebind, list, unbind, use a Name instance for input. In this implementation, many follow a similar pattern to ensure common handling of the input Name. Why not fix it in just one place? The common handling pattern includes calling getEnv(), a private method, which in turn calls parseNameForScheme(), a static method with package visibility. It is parseNameForScheme that updates it's input Name, but lookup, list, bind, etc. make subsequent calls to getAbsoluteName(), which will operate properly only on a Name exhibiting this side effect. -- Comment By: Scott M Stark (starksm) Date: 2004-11-04 13:00 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=175228 This has been fixed for 4.0.1RC1. -- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detailatid=376685aid=663283group_id=22866 --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: Sybase ASE Linux Express Edition - download now for FREE LinuxWorld Reader's Choice Award Winner for best database on Linux. http://ads.osdn.com/?ad_id=5588alloc_id=12065op=click ___ JBoss-Development mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/jboss-development
