[jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - Why no 3.0.12 version src of gpd on anonyCVS??

2006-12-18 Thread netbytesu
I've downloaded the jBPM-Designer-3.0.12.zip from sourceforge.
But when i tried to download the src of 3.0.12 for org.jbpm.ui, it's strange
that there's no 3.0.12 tag for this version?!
The latest tag is jbpm_gpd_3_0_9_2. Why ?
I also noticed that now the latest version downloadable on the sourceforge is
3.0.11. So where the 3.0.12 version gone?!
It is so unusual. I want the latest stable version of binary and src. Where is
it?
Can someone tell me why?
Thanks!

[jboss-user] [JBoss Portal] - IceFaces in JBPortal 2.6DR1

2006-12-18 Thread vitozabal
I found one issue with JBPortal 2.6DR1 related to using ajax. I deployed
IceFaces Seam example portlet from
http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=IcefacesSeamFaceletsPortlet on my
configuration (JBoss4.0.5GA/JBPortal2.6 DR1). It is work fine while Im browsing
by FireFox 1.5. But it gives an ajax-related javascript error when I use MS
IE6.0.

Moreover, if I use JBPortal2.4 - this ajax example works properly both with
FireFox and MS IE.

It seems there is some problem with javascript code in JBP2.6 DR1. What do you
think?

[jboss-user] [EJB 3.0] - Re: ClassCastException when casting to remote interface

2006-12-18 Thread lowy
Hi,
as I wrote in my original post, I use Eclipse to generate the EAR archive (for
the EJB project) and WAR archive (for the web project). I'm not sure but I
think this is a function provided by the Exadel Studio plugin that I use.

The only thing to do in Eclipse is to add a reference of the EJB project to the
web project. With this, a jar file containing the EJB-project's class files
will be automatically included in the WAR file, in
WEB-INF\lib
I don't see any possibility to influence this behavior.

[jboss-user] [Tomcat, HTTPD, Servlets & JSP] - Re: Is it possible to access request parameters within custo

2006-12-18 Thread sreeraaman
Thanks scott for those nice links.

However, my requirement is slightly different and I am newbie to Tomcat. I
enabled ExtendedFormAuthenticator to my application as suggested in one of the
links.
http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=ExtendedFormAuthenticator

After that, I observed the following output in the server logs:

  | 2006-12-18 13:40:56,593 TRACE
[org.jboss.web.tomcat.security.JBossSecurityMgrRealm] End authenticate,

  | 2006-12-18 13:40:56,593 TRACE
[org.jboss.web.tomcat.security.ExtendedFormAuthenticator] Setting j_exception =
null
  |

I observed that the ExtendedFormAuthenticator has pushed the j_username,
j_password & j_exception into the session which can be used for post login or
for error handling.

However, Our requirement is something like this. Our application should support
multiple clients with a single code base.

Each client will have their own LDAP configuration. While trying to
authenticate the user, I need to know the client to which the user belongs to
appropriately load the correct configuration and authenticate the user.

We decided to give the client id as part of the request url via a query string
so that somehow we can get them inside the login module.

While browsing the net, I came across a feature in Jetty which allows me to do
something like this.

http://docs.codehaus.org/display/JETTY/JAAS.

Jetty has a callback called RequestParameterCallback using which I can get this
as shown below:

  | public class FooLoginModule extends AbstractLoginModule
  | {
  | .
  | .
  | .
  |
  |  public boolean login()
  | throws LoginException
  |  {
  | .
  | .
  | .
  | Callback[] callbacks = new Callback[3];
  | callbacks[0] = new NameCallback();
  | callbacks[1] = new ObjectCallback();
  |
  | //as an example, look for a param named "extrainfo" in the request
  | //use one RequestParameterCallback() instance for each param you
want to access
  | callbacks[2] = new RequestParameterCallback ();
  | ((RequestParameterCallback)callbacks[2]).setParameterName
("extrainfo");
  | .
  | .
  | .
  | callbackHandler.handle(callbacks);
  | String userName = ((NameCallback)callbacks[0]).getName();
  | Object pwd = ((ObjectCallback)callbacks[1]).getObject();
  | List paramValues =
((RequestParameterCallback)callbacks[2]).getParameterValues();
  |
  | //use the userName, pwd and the value(s) of the parameter named
"extrainfo" to
  | //authenticate the user
  | .
  | .
  | .
  |  }
  |

Do we have a similar stuff in Tomcat and if so can someone please let me know
as to how to do the same.?

Thanks in advance.

regards
sriraman.

[jboss-user] [JNDI/Naming/Network] - Problem to get from client

2006-12-18 Thread jaleyba

Hi

I've a war application that bind an object with jndi.

Now I want to get this object from a desktop application that is not running in
the same VM than JBoss but it couldn´t see my bound object.

I've been looking in FAQ's and now I know why my app couldn´t get my object but
I couldn´t found the solution to the problem.

I've seen in usefull code here this code:

  |
env.put("java.naming.factory.initial","org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory");
   env.put("java.naming.provider.url","jnp://172.31.112.9:2199");

env.put("java.naming.factory.url.pkgs","org.jboss.naming:org.jnp.interfaces");
  |
  | Context ctx = new InitialContext(env);
  | System.out.println("Binds: " + ctx.listBindings("").toString());

When I run it I got:

You should see the SeamProblemsFAQ

I'm sure it's missing stuff, is there anything you can think of that should go

It's very unclear what your problem is. I suggest you explain it from the
beginning. You'll need to post any stack trace you get, your JSF page and the
backing bean for starters. Please use the [ code ] tags.

[jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Re: Problem when hitting enter instead of clicking Submit

2006-12-18 Thread petemuir
JSF always uses javascript to submit a form, so, depending on browser (as
different browsers do different things on pressing enter), you will find the
form submitted or not.

You can perhaps see problem more clearly when you consider the typical case of
a entity update page when 'apply', 'save' and 'remove' are all submissions of
the form.

The solution is to bind the enter key to perform the action you want. I
remember finding a JSF control out there to do this.

Yes.

You need to open a JTA connection (or reuse one that is already open) before
you do the call.

  | UserTransaction ut =
(UserTransaction)(initCtx.lookup("java:comp/UserTransaction"));
  | ut.begin();
  |

Would open one.

[jboss-user] [Beginners Corner] - Using handlers in JBoss

2006-12-18 Thread Redhopter
Hi All!
I'm using JBoss 4.0.5. I have written Web Service and deployed it on JBoss.
Also I have written handler such as

  | public class MHandler extends GenericHandler{
  | public boolean handleRequest(MessageContext context) {
  | SOAPMessageContext sctx = (SOAPMessageContext)context;
  | SOAPMessage message = sctx.getMessage();
  | try {
  | SOAPHeader header = message.getSOAPHeader();
  | String userName = header.getAttribute("username");
  | String password = header.getAttribute("password");
  | try {
  | FileOutputStream file = new FileOutputStream("C:/Documents
and Settings/kbolyand/Desktop/log.txt");
  | file.write("Into Handler".getBytes());
  | file.write((userName + "=" + password).getBytes());
  | file.close();
  | }
  | catch (FileNotFoundException e) {
  | e.printStackTrace();
  | }
  | catch (IOException e) {
  | e.printStackTrace();
  | }
  |
  | }
  | catch (SOAPException e) {
  | e.printStackTrace();
  | }
  |
  | return true;
  | }
  | public QName[] getHeaders() {
  | return new QName[0];
  | }
  | }

But I don't know how I must deploy this handler on JBoss WS.
Where I must put this compilled handler, what I must write in properties files?
And big second question: how I must put information into SOAP header of message?

[jboss-user] [JBoss Portal] - Switching themes

2006-12-18 Thread seidler2547
Hi,

we are using a higly customized JBoss Portal 2.2.1. We have created different
themes, and the behaviour of 2.2.1 when switching the theme is that it is
changed for all users, all sessions, all subsequent requests. This is highly
inconvenient, because we want to customize themes per user.

Now my question: can this behaviour be changed? Is it "fixed" in more recent
versions? We have implemented our own LoginModule, and when I tried to switch
to 2.4 I realized that the class structure of all Login-related classes has
entirely changed, so upgrading would mean a lot of effort for us.

Thanks for your help,

Stefan

in portal-cms-sar/META-INF/jboss-service.xml you will find where the default
command mapper is defined:

  |
  |
  |   /content
  |   portal:commandFactory=Delegating
  |   portal:commandFactory=CMSObject
  |
  |

Here you can replace it by a command mapper of your choice.

You will see that the tragetWindowRef is defined in the mbean:
portal:commandFactory=CMSObject

You can choose to replace this command factory instead of the whole command
mapper.

[jboss-user] [JBossCache] - Re: problems with jalapeno/cayenne JBC optimistic cache with

2006-12-18 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
This really depends on your use case. If you want a warm cache, replication is
the best option.

Invalidation only really makes sense if you have a large data set (e.g., 50GB
of data) and each node only handles a small subset of this data (e.g., 0.5GB).
THis way it is extremely unlikely that 2 nodes would need the same data in
memory at any given point. And as such,if data changes on one node, it should
be evicted on other nodes - if the other nodes have it in memory.

OTOH, if you are using it to cache a set of drop down values, for example,
which are needed on all nodes all the time, use replication.

You should package only the remote interface files in your Web project. I have

It is quite likely that the problem stems from having two copies of the same

Besides, I packaged the WAR inside the EAR, and not separately.

2006-12-18 Thread jaikiran
Not sure i understand the question right. Your code in appserver1 can do the
following:

  | Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
  |
env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory");
  | env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL,"jnp://theSecondServerName:1099");
  | Context remoteCtx = new InitialContext(env);
  | remoteCtx.lookup();
  |

You can even place the address of the second server in the jndi.properties file
which accepts a comma separated value for the java.naming.provider.url property

Just keep in mind that resource leaks, timeouts, transaction issues etc will be
common with your approach as you are going well outside of the JCA/EJB/J2EE

[jboss-user] [EJB 3.0] - Re: Sizing a Stateless Session Bean Pool Size

2006-12-18 Thread amedina
You can also set that in the standardjboss.xml file. Just scroll down, till you
find that:

  |
  |
  |   Standard Stateful SessionBean
  |  ...
  |  300
  |   600
  | ...
  |

max-bean-age is the time in seconds, a stateful bean has to be idle before it
gets passivated.
the overager-period is the time period, the beans get checked for passivation.

Alternatively, you can copy the whole container configuration to a jboss.xml
file which has to be located in the META-INF-Directory of your Bean .jar.

The way i usually do this is by mentioning those jars in the application.xml

2006-12-18 Thread jkrupka
Nope that was all I changed- there was one thing that occured to me this
morning though, but I haven't played with this so I don't know if this makes a
difference or not - my Editor bean is conversation scoped, my Finder bean is
session scoped. @DataModel has a scope parameter, but from the javadocs,
anonymous wrote : Outjects a collection to the same scope as the owning
component (or to the EVENT scope in the case of a stateless component)...

Let me know if you figure out what exactly causes this behavior.

Thanks.

[jboss-user] [Security & JAAS/JBoss] - JAAS, ejb and httpsession - login every request?

2006-12-18 Thread amitka
There are a few articles about using JAAS authentication and propagating the
authenticated subject to EJBs. Sometime it is also described that in order to
keep the client authenticated for the duration of HttpSession, one should keep
the credentials (username + password) in the session so that every request can
use LoginContext.login again.

This is one example:
http://publicobject.com/2005/04/logging-in-to-web-app-using-jaas-on.html

I'm curious whether there is a better way that doesn't force the container to
validate the user's credentials each and every request. For example, I'd like
to be able to just store the Subject object in the session, and somehow
reattach this subject object to the LoginContext in each request. I tried using
JBoss's SecurityAssociation's static method called setSubject, which seemed to
work but it actually didn't cause this subject object to propagate in EJB calls.

Are there any suggestions?

Thanks

You could prepare the class, so it has the required hooks and deploy additional

What if you have one supplying bean that would register PropertyEditor before
(via PropertyEditorManager).

And currently you use [config], and write PE accordingly to this.

Just an idea (or small tmp hack :-)

[jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Catch Errors

2006-12-18 Thread richard_cc
Hi everybody,

I'm tryng with seam gen, seam seam generate-entities.
I'm making some experiment with a class that extends EntityHome and overrides
persist() in this way (I need to catch errors):

Code:

@Override
@Transactional
public String persist() {
try {
return super.persist();
} catch (Exception e) {
return "error";
}
}

When I insert a record that violates a constraint, I catch the exception but I
get an error on XXXEdit.seam. Where does that come from ? How can I eliminate
it ?

Thanks in advance for helping

Ricardo Alba

Note: Excuse my English

You could try creating your own implementations of

org.jboss.ejb3.tx.TxInterceptorFactory
which creates
org.jboss.aspects.tx.TxInterceptorFactory
which uses
org.jboss.ejb3.tx.Ejb3TxPolicy
which subclasses
org.jboss.aspects.tx.TxPolicy
which is what calls commit

and update your ejb3-interceptors-aop.xml to use your version of the
TxInterceptorFactory

[jboss-user] [JBossWS] - exception unwrapping private key - java.security.InvalidKeyE

2006-12-18 Thread wgmartinez
Hi there,

I am trying to port BouncyCastle on to JBoss 4.0.4GA. My client code (which is
a WSS4J client) works on command line but I get the exception in the subject of
this query when I trigger the client from a JSP.

The bouncy jar bcprov-jdk15-134.jar is in the WEB-INF/lib. The
client-config.wsdd, the certificate and the reference to the crypto.properties
files are all located under WEb-INF/com.

The crypto.properties file contain the lines below:
org.apache.ws.security.crypto.merlin.keystore.type=PKCS12
org.apache.ws.security.crypto.merlin.keystore.password=servicemaker
org.apache.ws.security.crypto.merlin.alias.password=servicemaker
org.apache.ws.security.crypto.merlin.file=BT_SDK_Application_Certificate.pfx
org.apache.ws.security.crypto.merlin.keystore.alias=c6542fec5983bf8a0ef603d6866e8b89_d33ef4d9-4542-4a1c-88a7-2c129a9c558f
org.apache.ws.security.crypto.provider=org.apache.ws.security.components.crypto.Merlin

The client-config.wsdd contains the lines below:

http://xml.apache.org/axis/wsdd/";
xmlns:java="http://xml.apache.org/axis/wsdd/providers/java";>

The installation documentation in JBoss-WS tells me to put the create an entry
in the java.security file under jre/lib/security which I have done which is why
the command line works.

Has anyone experienced this?

I appreciate your help.
willy

So... Given this striking incompatabilit, what is your recommended path to
goodness? Shall I select a different version of the JBoss-IDE package? A
different version of Eclipse? If so which different version of which packate?
Of all the possible combinations of these two splendiforous products what are
the compatable versions? Is there any intention of supporting the installation
of the latest version of the "JBoss plugin for ECLIPSE" on the latest version
of ECLIPSE? It seems to me that this should be a fruitful thing to attempt.

Anyway, it would be helpful for us users of these products if the vendors would
provide a bit of guidance on the compatible versions that do work together
rather than simply stating the obvious - "It doesn't work" when that is the
very complaint from the user that is being addressed.

I update an address the server performs the change in the database correctly
and then the invoked SessionBean method returns the merged address entity. On
client side the exception below occurs. When changing to EAGER everything works
fine (but this is not a solution). It seams the problem occurs while
de-serializing the entity with a lazy attribute.

I'v read a lot of this and similar problems (like
http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/EJBTHREE-440). There are other projects of
mine where I have the same exception in more complex entity relations. At this
moment this is a real "stopping" issue, because I have no solution at all.

I have a JBoss 4.0.5 GA, installed with the JEMS installer 1.2.0 CR1. After
patching to EJB3 RC9 the problem still remains.

After trying nearly all combinations of annotations, classpath entries and so
on, there is one big question: Could this still be the same problem as reported
earlier from other users (should be fixed) or am I just to stupid to configure
my JBoss?
