[jboss-user] [JBoss Portal] - Auto-login on JBoss Portal
Hi, I'm a newbee to Jboss Portal and am using it as the framework for our project's portal. I need to integrate the portal with a Shibboleth login. So basically a user should be able to select from a list of identity providers, use his login for that Identity provider and then access the portal. I want that once the user verifies himself on the Identity Provider, he should automatically login to the portal. The username of the logged in user is provided to my application as a parameter on the request. I don't understand at which point should I intercept the framework to provide auto-login and then redirect the user to the default page. Any help would be highly appreciated. double clicking the run.bat briefly opens console window and closes. Running from command line prints out 1 new line and from what I can tell, nothing happens. server.log isn't in the default folder. Ok, i think the problem is with the JAVA_HOME setting. Can you move (copy/paste) the Java installation to maybe C:\Java\jdk1.6.0_05 instead of the current C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_05? Then set the JAVA_HOME to: set JAVA_HOME=C:\Java\jdk1.6.0_05 and then start JBoss from the command line using the run.bat. Also, note that JBoss is not fully qualified to run on Java 6. However, that's not the reason why you are seeing this problem. You might run into a different issue using Java 6 with JBoss-4.2.x, but we have a solution for that too. Let's get JBoss started first. [jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - Re: JBPM, Tomcat6 and Postgres8.2 issue
As Ronald already pointed out, without detailed information it's almost impossible to give proper advice. If you're experiencing problems, these are usually reflected in the logs, so it's always a good idea to have a look into these and report any exceptions you can find there. Right now, I would however point you to the wiki http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=JbpmOnTomcat and verify if what you have done somehow matches the steps reported there. Also, here are the contents of my jbpm-console.war I've deployed to Tomcat 6.0.10 for you to check as well (I've manually copied jbpm-j2ee.jar and commons-collections.jar after the ant run): | [EMAIL PROTECTED] webapps]$ tree ./jbpm-console/ | ./jbpm-console/ | |-- META-INF | | `-- MANIFEST.MF | |-- WEB-INF | | |-- access.properties | | |-- classes | | | |-- hibernate.cfg.xml | | | |-- jbpm.cfg.xml | | | |-- jbpm.mail.templates.xml | | | `-- messages.properties | | |-- faces-config.xml | | |-- jboss-web.xml | | |-- jbpm4jsf-config.xml | | |-- lib | | | |-- activation.jar | | | |-- antlr-2.7.6.jar | | | |-- asm.jar | | | |-- bsh.jar | | | |-- cglib.jar | | | |-- commons-collections.jar | | | |-- commons-fileupload.jar | | | |-- commons-io.jar | | | |-- commons-logging.jar | | | |-- dom4j.jar | | | |-- gravel-14.jar | | | |-- hibernate3.jar | | | |-- javassist.jar | | | |-- jboss-backport-concurrent.jar | | | |-- jboss-j2ee.jar | | | |-- jboss-retro-1.1.0-rt.jar | | | |-- jbpm-identity.jar | | | |-- jbpm-jpdl.jar | | | |-- jbpm4jsf-14.jar | | | |-- jsf-api-14.jar | | | |-- jsf-facelets.jar | | | `-- jsf-impl-14.jar | | `-- web.xml | I wouldn't put the db driver lib in the war, but rather in $tomcat/lib. UPDATE: MySQl does support XA now You have to use mysql-connector-java-5.1.5 or newer for successful XA integration. I have copied the example script from docs\examples\jca\oracle-xa-ds.xml and adapted it to my needs. Now XA is running perfectly. Besides mysql we are using Oracle XE in our developing environment. This db does not support XA. For production and Testing we can use a full orace server which does support XA. Have same problem here. I have two portlet one JSF and the other regular portlet. I defined the listener on the regular portlet and try to change it based on submited value from the jsf portlet. Is it true that when you activating IPC the action is not performed for the caller portlet but just for the target portlet? [jboss-user] [JBoss Messaging] - clustered messages stuck on queues
There's a good chance that this could be related to: http://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBMESSAGING-1245 Messages are getting 'stuck' in the database and I have to restart a single app server before these messages are delivered However, this problem only seems to happen very sporadically (around every 10-14 days) on our production environment and hence im hesitent of changing the prefetchSize before asking the forum. We are using Jboss AS 4.2.2.GA and JBM 1.4.0.SP3 backed by a mysql 5 database and JRE 6 on a debian OS. The queues are clustered over 3 servers. We are using the MessageConsumer.receive(1000) method to receive messages that runs every 1-5 seconds depending on the queue. I know this is happening as some newer messages are being delivered correctly. The queues all have the following properties set: Clustered=true and MaxDeliveryAttempts=1 Below are the queue message counts - 99% of these are messages that are stuck on the queues. server 1: queueA=357,queueB=0,queueC=51,queueD=8 server 2: queueA=353,queueB=3,queueC=941,queueD=1 server 3: queueA=9,queueC=5,queueC=37,queueD=2 After restarting server 1 using the jboss shutdown.sh script all messages on servers2 and 3 were sent and then after starting server 1 all messages on its queues were then delivered. I would doubt our code doing the batching effect if it wasn't for this re-starting behaviour. ok, first aof all, make sure your defined column name are not longer then 20 signs and your table name are not longer than 30 sign (this restriction belong to oracle). Then check out your created tables and make sure, your defined column name are reflected correct. If not and you can delete your table (i.e. there is no important data inside), than delet that table and let the entity manager create a new one. Otherwise you must alter your table definition by using any sql ddl commands (i.e. alter table xxx ...). The workaround is to copy/paste all jars from .sh scripts to your batch file that are not mentioned there. [jboss-user] [JBossCache] - FetchInMemoryState InitialStateRetrievalTimeout
Hi guys I am facing a problem when trying to get the state from cache in a 2-clustered cache enviroment. What a I get from the node which is starting and trying to get the state from another node in the cluster is: 2008-03-10 11:01:20,630 WARN [org.jboss.system.ServiceController] Problem starting service jboss.cache:service=ServicesDataCache | org.jboss.cache.CacheException: Initial state transfer failed: Channel.getState() returned false As I saw in http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=JBossCacheTroubleshooting I increased the InitialStateRetrievalTimeout parameter in the cache configuration file and everything worked fine. Then, I wanted to test setting the parameter FetchInMemoryState to false so I could test a different solution (in my case, I do not care using a cold loading cache) What I got from this test is that some cache attributes (around 55000) were transferred to the cache that is starting (there are around 9 attributes in the other node) Perhaps, I am missing some configuration parameter. OK, I've got it working in a single jar. But as I understand it, I can't reference the PersistenceUnit from one jar in an EJB to another. Is this correct? This is my structure: | my-ear.ear | ---persistence.jar | --META-INF/peristence.xml | ---ejb.jar | --session-beans | ---META-INF/application.xml | In my session beans i have | @PersistenceContext | private EntityManager manager; | but I get an error about a default persistent unit not being defined. I've tried referencing the persistent unit by name - @PersistenceUnit( name=PersistenceHCE ) - to no avail. The only way I can get it to work is to bind it the the global JNDI and perform a lookup. One thought, based on your description of what happens when your run run.bat. You might be running into the findstr issue (see http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=FindstrCommandNotFound). If that is the case, you can either follow the instructions provided in that link, or comment out these lines in the run.bat: rem Add -server to the JVM options, if supported | rem %JAVA% -version 21 | findstr /I hotspot nul | rem if not errorlevel == 1 (set JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -server) (I am not sure why some people do not have findstr in their XP installation. Are you using XP Home by any chance?) If that does not work, comment out the @echo off statement at the start of run.bat and post the output when you run run.bat. In essence, you would need to create a web service client that could be accessed via your portlet and possibly interacted with. | | View the original post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bbop=viewtopicp=4135356#4135356 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bbop=postingmode=replyp=4135356 ___ jboss-user mailing list jboss-user@lists.jboss.org https://lists.jboss.org/mailman/listinfo/jboss-user
[jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - Re: modelling worklows with parallel nodes
Sorry, but IMHO it cannot be possible due to database problems with transactions. The way I tried without success was the fork/join with async nodes. Yes, the nodes are executed at the same time by JobExecutor, but there was no way to synchronize the concurrent nodes. [jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - org.hibernate.SessionException: Session is closed! error on
Hi, I have an issue where I signal my token into the end-state node at the end of a process, then get a message org.hibernate.SessionException: Session is closed! I have a class which signals a token to move the process from one task-node to the end-state node. The end-state node has a action handler which is invoked on node-enter, once the token.signal(); is initiated {TAG 1} (from the task-node prior), this works fine. However once this action handler is complete {TAG 2}. And the token.signal(); is completed {TAG 3}. The token is now in the end-state {TAG 4} and the jbpmContext.close(); is completed [TAG 5]. Once the Context is closed and my class is finished (there is no more code to implement) {TAG 6} I receive a org.hibernate.SessionException: Session is closed! stacktrace. [jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - Re: context variables not being persisted
Actually I am closing the context, here is the full code : JbpmContext jbpmContext = s_jbpmConfiguration.createJbpmContext(); try { ProcessDefinition definition = jbpmContext.getGraphSession().getProcessDefinition(Long.parseLong(instanceTO.getTemplateId())); ProcessInstance instance = new ProcessInstance(definition); ContextInstance contextInstance = (ContextInstance)instance.getInstance(ContextInstance.class); contextInstance.setVariable(name,name); contextInstance.createVariable(test,test); jbpmContext.save(instance); } catch (Exception e) { throw new WorkflowEngineException(e.getMessage(), e); } finally { jbpmContext.close(); } Also when I look in the ProcessInstance object during runtime, there are instances and transientInstances, however instances remains null, while transient instance contains my ContextInstance and LoggingInstance. As I add variables, they are being added to my transient instance. Is that correct ? That seems like the reason they are not being persisted but I dont know why its happening. [jboss-user] [JBoss Portal] - Re: How to build custom User/Role/UserProfile/Membership Mod
I'm trying to download the code base for the portal so I can eventually code and test my replacement modules for the ones listed at the top of this thread. The eclipse PSF file references directories that aren't under the SVN path. The line: has a path (http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/portal/) which has no trunk under it: * admin/ * archives/ * branches/ * demo/ * docs/ * maven/ * modules/ * tags/ * tools/ So the Eclipse-based Team/Check out process has errors. Then build fails because other projects (like Identity - which it the whole point of this) is missing. :( View the original post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bbop=viewtopicp=4135430#4135430 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bbop=postingmode=replyp=4135430 ___ jboss-user mailing list jboss-user@lists.jboss.org https://lists.jboss.org/mailman/listinfo/jboss-user

[jboss-user] [Persistence, JBoss/CMP, Hibernate, Database] - Oracle prepared statement with cursors fails with Datasource
From a servlet in JBoss 4.05GA, we are trying to access an Oracle 10g database and execute a PreparedStatement that uses cursors for sub-results. The point is to use this result to build an xml document through an OracleXMLQuery. The libs are ojdbc14, xsu12, xmlparserv2, versions 10.2.0.2 The query goes like so (sanitized version, see full below): | select | field, | cursor( | select * | from other | where other.field = table.field | ) sub | from | table | If the connection to the database is created with a DriverManager, all is fine, and we get the expected result, that is: | ROWSET |ROW num=1 | fielddata/field | sub |sub_row num=1 | --sub fields-- |/sub_row | et caetera | However, using a DataSource does not: the result is (translated): | ERRORoracle.xml.sql.OracleXMLSQLException: ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1 | ORA-01000: maximum open cursors exceeded | /ERROR | I have had a look around the net as to the use of cursors, oracle and datasources, but all i found was problems with unclosed statements c. building up to cause the problem. In this case the problem is immediate and ever-present in the Datasource case and never in the DriverManager. I also found a case about using a prepared call that retuns a REF Cursor, but I don't think it applies since this is a prepared statement. The source of the minimal servlet used to reproduce the problem follows: | /*package imports*/ | | public class StatementServlet extends HttpServlet { | | String query = select platform_code, cursor(select * from cycle_voyage where cycle_voyage.platform_code = platform.platform_code) cycles from platform where platform.description = 'Japan'; | | @Override | protected void doGet(HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse resp) throws ServletException, IOException { | boolean ds = Boolean.parseBoolean(req.getParameter(ds)); | resp.setContentType(text/plain); | try { | String result = (ds? workDS(): workDM()); | resp.getOutputStream().print(result); | } catch (Exception e) { | e.printStackTrace(new PrintStream(resp.getOutputStream())); | e.printStackTrace(); | } | } | | protected String workDM() throws Exception { | DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver()); // NOT oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver | Connection connection = DriverManager.getConnection(jdbc:oracle:thin:@--host--:--port--:--service--,--user--,--pwd--); | | PreparedStatement ps = connection.prepareStatement(query); | ResultSet resultSet = ps.executeQuery(); | | //get XML result | OracleXMLQuery oxq = new OracleXMLQuery(connection, resultSet); | oxq.useNullAttributeIndicator(false); | | String result = oxq.getXMLString(); | resultSet.close(); ps.close(); connection.close(); | return result; | } | | protected String workDS() throws Exception { | Context envContext = (Context)new InitialContext().lookup(java:); | DataSource ds = (DataSource) envContext.lookup(--ourDs--); | Connection connection = ds.getConnection(); | | PreparedStatement ps = connection.prepareStatement(query); | ResultSet resultSet = ps.executeQuery(); | | //get XML result | OracleXMLQuery oxq = new OracleXMLQuery(connection, resultSet); | oxq.useNullAttributeIndicator(false); | | String result = oxq.getXMLString(); | | resultSet.close(); ps.close(); connection.close(); | return result; | } | } | The DataSource is defined in it's own -ds.xml file thus: | datasources | local-tx-datasource | jndi-nameourDS/jndi-name | connection-urljdbc:oracle:thin:@--host--:--port--:--service--/connection-url | driver-classoracle.jdbc.OracleDriver/driver-class | user-name--user--/user-name | password--pwd--/password | min-pool-size5/min-pool-size | max-pool-size100/max-pool-size | !-- Checks the Oracle error codes and messages for fatal errors -- | exception-sorter-class-nameorg.jboss.resource.adapter.jdbc.vendor.OracleExceptionSorter/exception-sorter-class-name | /local-tx-datasource | /datasources | I'm stuck on this one... I don't think I'm asking too much from the Datasource... more likely I'm missing some config parameter. Thanks in advance for any pointers. [jboss-user] [JBoss Tools (users)] - JBoss Tools using Latest Seam
When will JBoss Tools be updated using the latest Seam version? It looks like it is only using v1.2 Also, if a project is created using the seam-gen (outside Eclipse), is there a way to let JBoss-Tools know this, in order to use the Seam tools inside Eclipse? I am assuming that the project - properties - Seam Settings is the place to do this, but once again it uses v1.2 and I created the project using 2.0 seam.
