[jboss-user] [JBoss Portal] - DashBoard Functionality is not happening properly

2008-03-19 Thread PVApparao
Hi,
We are using jboss-portal2.6.1ha.sar and oracle 10g as our database.

When we deploy the jboss-portal2.6.1ha.sar to the jboss4.05 GA with 3 nodes
cluster and apache as webserver, when all the 3 nodes are up the dashboard
functionality is not happening properly.

I am explaining the behaviour clearly here

when i click the edit dashbord link and create a new page it is not happening.
After two or three tarils it is listing in the dropdown box. Then when i try to
add a portlet to the page it is not happening, it is always selecting the
default page. After all this exercise when i went back to the dashboard by
clicking on the dashboard link, i am getting the 500 error. After few refreshes
i am getting the dashboard page normally. This is the behaviour i am facing
when all the 3 nodes are up.

When only one node is on the behaviour is differnt. The dashboard functionality
is working without any problems.

What is the solution for this problem.
I am also upgraded the jboss-cache.jar to 1.4.1 version and jgroups to 2.6

Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem , how can i make the use of the
dashboard functionlity when all the 3 nodes are up?

Once again i am repeating the configuration that we use

jboss-portal2.6.1ha.sar
jboss4.05 GA server with 3 nodes as cluster and apache webserver to handle the
requests
oracle 10G as our database
server cache upgraded to jboss-cache 1.4.1 sp8 and jgroups 2.6

Thanks,
Venkat.

Dunno if it helps but there JBoss services that you can extract info from about
it's state.

Maybe have a servlet that extracts data from jboss.system:type=Server (Started
f.i.)and returns it.
Then your tool would have to see if the contents matches what is expected.

2008-03-19 Thread FrankTheTank
That should not be a problem if you make sure to have your data sources
configured with one unique jndi-name.

Yes, the jndi name in the persistence.xml is static, but it does a name lookup
and as long as your *-ds.xml maps the database to the same name, it could just
work.

Just note that this presumes that only *one* *-ds.xml uses that jndi name.

Yes, it is possible. I have not done so myself but I know it is possible.

Sadly a quick google search did not give any usable results, so you will have
to do more investigation.

On a general note:
I highly suggest you try to get info yourself first. People often do not even
respond to threads like this.

Take the first steps yourself and people will be happy to help.

hi,
I have a jms sender which sends message to a jms Queue. I'm creating the
connection once n using it for successive messages to send. Before i used to get
SPYJMSException saying to setExceptionListner(). After creating an
exceptionListner it went off. In side the ExceptionListenr i'm closing the
connection and creating a new connection. Now i'm facing a problem which
occures randomly. I'm not able to simulate it. After two or three days of
deployment it happens.

Do you think we have to create and close the connection on each sendMessage
function.

[jboss-user] [JBoss Portal] - Re: Problems starting Jboss 4.2.2.GA with Portal 2.6.4

2008-03-19 Thread CarstenRudat
Hi Peter, hi Chris,

I tried to set up JBoss AS with JBoss Portal from the scratch. Without the
installation of JBoss WS this works fine (all config).

I installed JBoss WS by using the ant build.xml

  | ant antfile=build.xml target=deploy-jboss422
dir=jbossws-native-2.0.3.GA
  | property name=jboss422.home value=.../jboss-4.2.2.GA/
  | property name=jboss.server.instance value=all/
  | /ant
  |

So, I think WS is correctly installed - it copies just a few files to JBoss AS.

Anyway, if the installation is wrong, than this is a topic for another forum.

Thanks for your help.
Carsten

Hi,

thanks for your reply! I totally agree on your remarks about the WSRP
specification and it definitely makes no sense at all to tweak the
implementation of the JBoss Portal producer BUT on connecting the same SAP EP
to an open Oracle WSRP test portal
(http://portalstandards.oracle.com/portletapp/portlets?WSDL) the
mispelled/malformed consumer agent string poses no threat to anyone and i can
consume portlets, clap my hands and say yeah!.

That seems strange to me and makes me question all these standard-conforming
marketing phrases around the world.

however, I really like JBoss portal and gonna get it running. Word!

thanks,
Christian

if an app server is out of the picture, have a look at the following URLs,
which contain helpful information on the c3p0 configuration options, especially
in the combination with Hibernate:

http://www.hibernate.org/214.html
http://www.mchange.com/projects/c3p0/index.html#hibernate-specific

I'm wondering why you have set idle_test_period to zero:

  | property name=hibernate.c3p0.idle_test_period0/property
  |

From the first link above:

unchecked-out connections, every this number of seconds.

I would start off with the values as shown in the sample config on the first
link above and thus set it to 100 (seconds). Let us know if you start to see a
difference.

Try pressing after you type in the variable name. I believe is normal behavior
for Eclipse, but that a request to have it altered to not require a has been
submitted.

I'm working through the same book right now and will be glad to assist you if
you need any help.

[jboss-user] [JBoss Cache: Core Edition] - Re: FileCacheLoader failing with EOFException with fix

2008-03-19 Thread e2open
The fix above reduced the EOF exceptions but it did not completely eliminate
the issue. I have a shared cache with 2 nodes and file cache loader with nfs
(yes, i know that you guys don't recomment it, just building a basic
infrastructure to test with). Further debugging revealed the fact that both the
nodes are trying to write into the data file at the same time. One of which
runs into the EOF exception as it tries to do a readObject on a 0 byte file
that is being written into from the other node. Now i am confused, isn't the
lock supposed to be across the cluster at the tree cache level, avoiding this
issue ? Or am I missing something ?

2008-03-19 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
No, it is still possible that one instance performs a read, another instance
performs a write, both involving a cache loader.

There is no cluster-wide lock at the start. Locking attempts to gain
cluster-wide locks during the prepare phase of a 2-phase commit, and the
transaction fails if this cannot be obtained.

So the jBPM team will not be the one providing a detailed example.

If you look at how the engine is used by looking at the testcases (in cvs)

If not, please ask more specific questions about the 'not intuitive'

Authorization can't work as while you are pointing your DB for authentication,
default portal DB is used for authorization via identity modules. Option would
be to enable SynchronizingLoginModule together with DBIdentityLoginModule and
sync authenticated user/roles into portal DB.

[jboss-user] [Performance Tuning] - Re: 100% CPU usage with lots of memory

2008-03-19 Thread DeanoUK
Ok so we've had this running for around 12 hours+ and we're seeing similar
issues.

Receiving the following (over and over):

[GC 2515286K-2130638K(5238528K), 0.0748890 secs]
  | [GC 2515406K-2137619K(5237440K), 0.0824530 secs]
  | [GC 2521619K-2144601K(5237312K), 0.0933110 secs]
  | [GC 2528601K-2151535K(5236608K), 0.0912180 secs]
  | [GC 2533231K-2151543K(5237120K), 0.0885810 secs]
  |

Using the settings you suggested:

  | JAVA_OPTS=$JAVA_OPTS -Xms5g -Xmx5g -XX:MaxNewSize=384m -XX:NewSize=384m
-XX:Per
  | mSize=512m -XX:MaxPermSize=1g -Dsun.rmi.dgc.client.gcInterval=360
-Dsun.rmi.
  | dgc.server.gcInterval=360 -Djava.awt.headless=true -d64 -verbose:gc
  |

After some time, the CPU was sticking around 50% (even when there was no
activity) then during the time above it rose to 75% and seems to be stuck
there...see JConsole output here:
http://www.allstarconsultants.com/jconsole1.jpg

Any further help would be appreciated :-/

What do you mean by this , elaborate the question?
Also raise a separate post for this , don't bloat the post with unrelated query

2008-03-19 Thread gosub33
First off, thanks to both of you for replying.

The heart of the matter was that I could not get anymore information than what
I posted. I included the log output from Tomcat and that was pretty much all I
had to go on.

We eventually figured out that our war file was invalid, so the JVM wasn't even
starting. Once we rebuilt the war file, Tomcat started up right away.

Thanks again.

[jboss-user] [JCA/JBoss] - Why JBoss is using XA if I only have local-tx datasources

2008-03-19 Thread maralcbr
Hi,

As I understand, xa is for distributed transaction between different
databases/instances.

My JBoss just have local-tx datasources configured. No XA datasources.

Why, in this scenario, JBoss still uses XA? There is a reason?

I have clustered services enabled, does it relate?

Thanks in advance.

Marcelo

Looks like it was completed! I must have missed it in the release notes.

http://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBIDE-1658

I would ask, however, what we should do with our existing
org.jboss.tools.jst.web.xml project files. We've been doing a bit of modifying
for these each time we branch or check out an existing project since the file
likes to mess up our JSF settings if Eclipse doesn't like what it sees. Once
we upgrade, should we remove this file all together?

Thanks for that info, Brian.

Is there any resource online that can provide info on what settings in which
files (e.g. cluster-service.xml, hajndi-jms-ds.xml etc.) are being overridden
when one specifies port setting (ports-default, ports-01 etc.) in
jboss-service.xml. There seems to be ports specified in so many configuration
files for different services and I just want to be sure that I DO or DO NOT
need to tokenize those ports.

2008-03-19 Thread matias.blasi
I have a duplicate key exception when hibernate updates a list wich have been
modificated.

I have a test which reproduce it sistematically, it has 2 clasess, one mapped
@oneToMany to the other. The first has a list of the second. In a transaction
scope I remove one element of the list, and later I add it again, hibernate try
to insert again all elements without remove them, then i have a duplicated
unique key exception at the commit.
I am geting the session through the hivetrans.hibernate3.SessionFactory
I could make it run successfully geting the session programaticaly, begining
and commiting the transaction manually:

  | cfg = AnnotationConfiguration(cfg.xml);
  | sf = cfg.buildSessionFactory();
  | s = sf.openSession();
  |

Why could the hivetrans session factory make change the strategy of persist the
dirty list?

Thank in advance for yout help!

walfreund wrote :
  | That seems strange to me and makes me question all these

  |

It is actually not that strange. I have seen enough such cases with the
consumer agent not being specification-compliant that I have been tempted to
remove the validation several times just so that it is easier for our users.
I have several options:
1. Keep a hard line as far as the specification goes. That makes us look like
the bad guy as several producers are less strict and so will accept a
non-conformant consumer agent (I know of at least 2 big name WSRP consumers
that do not generate valid consumer agents). The only recourse then is to have
our users who wish to use these WSRP consumers to contact their support and
file for a bug... but we all know that with big, commercial products you might
not see a fix before a while.

2. Introduce a configuration option to enable/disable consumer agent validation
but that makes our code more complex (and using our producer more complex as
well) for something that shouldn't even happen if the specification had a TCK.

3. Remove the consumer agent validation altogether because it seems that no one
really cares about its format and the specification does not seem to leverage
that specific format anywhere else either (i.e. the MUST in the specification
might be too strong of a language since there doesn't seem to be a real value
in providing a consumer agent formatted that way).

The bigger issue here is the lack of TCK with the specification.
Interoperability and, ultimately, users suffer from this situation... :(

walfreund wrote :
  | however, I really like JBoss portal and gonna get it running. Word!
  |

Thank you for not giving up on Portal when it would have been easy to do so
because we are actually more compliant (on this particular aspect, as we don't
claim perfection ^_^) than some of our competitors! :)

[jboss-user] [Installation, Configuration DEPLOYMENT] - Re: How to package log4j configuration

2008-03-19 Thread pdesj
I'm trying to solve a similar problem with a WAR file. Can you point me to the
documentation you referred to?

The EAR file doc looks like it might also be applicable to my situation but I'm
interested in what you mentioned.

Thanks.

[jboss-user] [JBoss Portal] - RichFaces/Ajax4JSF JS and XCSS not found

2008-03-19 Thread CarstenRudat
Hi all,

I have JBoss Poral 2.6.4 running on JBoss 4.2.2.GA (all config, -ha deployment)
and I adopted the portlet-bridge-seam example.
My application uses facelets and it has deployed, but I cannot get the three
artefacts:

  | /rfRes/org/ajax4jsf/framework.pack.js
  | /rfRes/org/richfaces/ui.pack.js
  | /rfRes/org/richfaces/skin.xcss
  |

Each of them ends in an Http 404 error.

In my WAR/lib I have jsf-facelts.jar, portletbridge-xxx/api/impl.jar,
richfaces-api/impl/ui.jar, tomahawk-1.1.6.jar, tomahawk-facelets-taglib.jar and
json, some commons-jars.
My configuration:

[jboss-user] [JBoss Tools (users)] - Re: upgrade to WTP 2.0.2 breaks EAR deployment in JBoss Tool

2008-03-19 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
donatsec - it really is a bug in WTP no matter how we fix our application.xml.
What if you have an external WAR or JAR module in your EAR that is not an WTP
project - then it would not get deployed.

nat_tul - most likely because WTP's model haven't at that time picked up the
application.xml lines and does not hide the jars from the deployer.

In any case, we are working with the WTP guys on figuring out a workaround plus
future fix.

[jboss-user] [Installation, Configuration DEPLOYMENT] - SUN JDK 1.5 and 6 license changes, and its effects to JBoss

2008-03-19 Thread clemens_xen
Beginning with JDK 1.5 update 14 and JDK 6 update 4 SUN changed their license
texts/files and limited the free use of its JDKs and JREs to certain kinds of
applications.

Excerpt from from http://java.sun.com/javase/6/jdk-6u4-license.txt /
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/jre-1_5_0_15-license.txt:

Usage is allowed on:
General Purpose Desktop
Computers and Servers means computers, including desktop,
laptop and tablet computers, or servers, used for general
computing functions under end user control (such as but not
specifically limited to email, general purpose Internet
browsing, and office suite productivity tools).

Excluded are for example:
The use of Software in systems and solutions that provide
dedicated functionality (other than as mentioned above) or
designed for use in embedded or function-specific software
applications, for example but not limited to: Software
embedded in or bundled with industrial control systems,
wireless mobile telephones, wireless handheld devices,
kiosks, TV/STB, Blu-ray Disc devices, telematics and
network control switching equipment, printers and storage
management systems, and other related systems are excluded
from this definition and not licensed under this
Agreement.

This is not clearly limited to embedded systems (see the license file) but
includes also function-specific software applications.
We are using JBoss and older versions of the JREs/JDKs for applications in the
Healthcare area (normal server app, no embedded use), and would head for using
newer JRE/JDK versions but are now forced to clarify the legal implications of
these newer license conditions.

In case of a tight interpretation of these conditions by SUN this might affect
also many other JBoss users.
Do you have any experiences with these newer license conditions, or
clarifications about its consequences for the commercial use of JBoss
applications running on the SUN JREs?

I think that you can ignore all of these. The warnings are mostly because you
are probably running the 'default' config rather than 'all'. The errors are
information printed to stderr by the Sun facelets library.

[jboss-user] [JBoss Portal] - Re: How to use Mysql 5 as jboss-portal-2.6.4-bundled databas

2008-03-19 Thread PeterJ
There are several services within JBossAS that use a database - messaging, uuid
generation, etc. If you want, you can change all of those services to use
MySQL. But unless you are actually making use of those services, it is usually
easier to just leave them using Hypersonic.

JNDI does not use a database.

[jboss-user] [Performance Tuning] - Re: 100% CPU usage with lots of memory

2008-03-19 Thread PeterJ
The set of GC output you posted at 9:37 looks good. Earlier, all of your GCs
were full GCs taking around 10 seconds. Now you have minor GCs taking less than
1/10th of a second.

Your post at 10:02 shows that you have overrun the 5GB heap you set. Note the
heap sizes both before and after the collection are around 5GB.

Now you have to find out why the amount of heap in use jumped from 2.5GB in the
9:37 posting to 5GB in the 10:02 posting. Look at the GC outputs for where the
heap sizes started to increase and find out what was going on at that time. If
the increase is a jump, then something changed, find out what it was. If the
increase was gradual, I would suspect a memory leak.

Add -XX:+PrintGCTimestamps to the JVM options - this will let you know when
each GC was done (amount of time since the app started).

[jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - accessing context variable map outside of session?

2008-03-19 Thread simonbaker
What is the correct way to get a processinstance context variable map if we
only want to use it for read-only access to look up variable values outside
of a jbpm session?

For example, here is an experimental method to retrieve a handle to a context
variable map, but since the method opens and closes a session, is the handle
still pointing to a valid map, or should we make a copy of the map to return
from the method?

[jboss-user] [JBoss Portal] - Admin Portlet: Strange Behavior with Oracle-DB

2008-03-19 Thread IronMan77
Hi,

using this setup

* Version: jboss-portal-2.6.1.GA and jboss-portal-2.6.4.GA
* Download Version
* JBoss AS Version: 4.2.1.GA (build: SVNTag=JBoss_4_2_1_GA date=200707131605)]
and 4.2.2
* Database: Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 -
Production With the Partitioning and Data Mining options
* JDBC Connector and Version: ojdb14.jar (10.2.0.1.0 and 10.2.0.4.0)
* OS Platform: SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 (i586)
* Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_11-b03)

i have a rather strange behavoir when using the admin portlet. Adding a
property to a page or modifying a user does not work as expected. The data
seems to be written to the oracle database but it is NOT shown in the admin
portlet. Using a mysql 5.0.26 database with the same setup does work as
expected.

This seems to a strange effect, as it affects 2.6.1 and 2.6.4 without any
modification. Is this a known bug (i have found nothing in the jira) or could
it be related to the setup of the oracle database?

Oracle seems to be a quite popular database, so i am under the expression that
this could be a bug with portal 2.6.1 AND 2.6.4?

Thanks in advance!

[jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - Re: use existing Users from an other system

2008-03-19 Thread gosub33
I am working with the exact issue right now: that is, how do you implement
users, roles, and permissions in jBPM without using the jBPM built in tables.
Is that an adequate re-statement of your question?

In our situation, we have to pull user, roles and permissions (U/R/P) from an
existing corporate system.

I know that I can change hibernate to NOT pull those tables, but this opens
several questions:
1. If we use an external source for our U/R/P, can they still be used by JBPM
to enforce swimlanes, etc.
2. Can we just point hibernate to external tables for U/R/P and still have it
work?
3. Is the easiest way to do this use a third table to associate external and
jBPM tables?

Thanks in advance...

2008-03-19 Thread PeterJ
To me function-specific software applications means using the JVM in
single-function devices. For example you cannot market a Blu-ray player which
uses the JVM running on Linux to run the player. Running an app server, or
other applications, on a desktop computer or on a server is not
function-specific, but rather general purpose.

But I am not a lawyer. Your best bet would be to ask Sun.

[jboss-user] [Clustering/JBoss] - Re: role of port bindings xml

2008-03-19 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
If you look at the jboss-service.xml mbean where you set ports-01, etc, there's
a StoreURL attribute:

  | mbean code=org.jboss.services.binding.ServiceBindingManager
  | name=jboss.system:service=ServiceBindingManager
  | attribute name=ServerNameports-01/attribute
  | attribute
name=StoreURL${jboss.home.url}/docs/examples/binding-manager/sample-bindings.xml/attribute
  | attribute name=StoreFactoryClassName
  |org.jboss.services.binding.XMLServicesStoreFactory
  | /attribute
  |/mbean

That tells you the location under the root of your JBoss install where it finds
the file it uses to alter the ports. You can look at that file to see what it
is doing. You'll have to think about/interpret it, as it isn't documentation.

retrieving it outside of a jbpm session is only possible if you implement your

Your next question is kind of generic hibernate stuff How would you handle

I would vote for 2.

Make it strict by default so that users know what happens and ask the other
party to start thinking about being compliant. (for a better compliant world)

But being able to turn off the strict compliance, because we know how long it
can be to get that fixed (or how expensive to upgrade). (There might be other
places in the future where we will want to have that option)

but no effect.

An extension to the previous description:
If you try to add a property (e.g. hidden) first nothing happens (reload). If
you try to add the property again you get a:

 java.sql.BatchUpdateException: ORA-1: Unique Constraint
(JBOSSPORTAL_2_6.SYS_C0011591)

Exception as the property is already written to the database table!

Is that related to the CPU usage, is some atomic process locking and causing
the high usage?

[jboss-user] [JCA/JBoss] - Re: Why JBoss is using XA if I only have local-tx datasource

2008-03-19 Thread gsniderJBoss
You'll have to elaborate a little. What is the driver class in your local-tx
datasource? If the driver doesn't support XA then it really won't matter what
the app server is doing. (there's more to that but the point is we need to know
what your configuration is)

What are you seeing that makes you think JBoss is using XA?

I am sure you don't understand the reason for the existence of
local-tx-datasource , do you understand the reason behind it ?

local-tx-datasource are there to make the single one phase participant(db
resource) to enable in the JTA transaction , this is done by LRCO(last
resource commit optimization) . Read this one
http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=Multiple1PC

In case you are not using the global transaction (JTA) in your application code
you can use no-tx-datasource.

And finally the TransactionManger is smart enough to just call only the commit
when it finds that there is only one participant in the JTA transaction , it
can omit the prepare phase ;)

[jboss-user] [JBoss Portal] - JBoss Portal, seam-gen, and portlet bridge

2008-03-19 Thread JeffCybulski
I am able to execute and deploy an application from seam-gen (RichFaces). I am
able to run the JSR-301 Booking sample. However, following the
less-than-abundant and helpful documentation for JBoss's JSR-301 beta
implementation, I am not able to follow the guide and modify the seam-gen'd
vanilla example to run as a portlet.

Is there a tutorial out there that I am not finding? Can someone create a
tutorial on bridging a generic seam-gen application to the portal?

[jboss-user] [JBoss AOP] - aopc and headaches

2008-03-19 Thread apinto
Hi there,

I'm having a hard time to instrument my project classes. The problem is that
the documentation lacks practical examples and Google doesn't seem to be able
to help me.

I'm using JBoss AOP 1.5.6.GA and Ant 1.7. The relevant code is:

  | path id=project.classpath.aop
  | path refid=project.classpath/
  | path refid=jboss.aop.classpath/
  | fileset dir=${dir.bin.pub}/
  | fileset dir=${dir.bin.priv}/
  | /path
  |
  | taskdef name=aopc classname=org.jboss.aop.ant.AopC
  | classpathref=jboss.aop.classpath/
  | aopc compilerclasspathref=project.classpath.aop
verbose=true
  | classpath path=${dir.bin.priv}/
  | src path=${dir.bin.priv}/
  | include name=**/*.class/
  | aoppath path=${dir.etc.aop}/META-INF/jboss-aop.xml/
  | aopclasspath path=../addons/manager/bin/
  | /aopc
  |

project.classpath has my project classpath, the same that's used to compile the
classes with javac. jboss.aop.classpath is defined as:

  | path id=jboss.aop.classpath
  | fileset dir=../common/lib/aop
  | include name=javassist.jar/
  | include name=trove.jar/
  | include name=concurrent.jar/
  | include name=jboss-common.jar/
  | include name=jboss-aop-jdk50.jar/
  | /fileset
  | /path
  |

When I try to compile with aopc, I get the following error:

  | [aopc] org.jboss.aop.instrument.TransformationException: Failed to
aspectize class pt.ptinovacao.altaia.collector.agent.AgentBean. Could not find
class it references xxx.AgentRemote It may not be in your classpath and you
may not be getting field and constructor weaving for this class.
  |

The class AgentRemote.class is located in the correct package under
${dir.bin.priv}.

Can anyone help me, please? Thanks a lot in advance,

AP

You might ask about these messages in the JBoss Transactions forum.

Looks like the next step is to run with a profiler to find out where your app
is spending its time.

[jboss-user] [Security JAAS/JBoss] - authentication issue ?

2008-03-19 Thread martin.schubert
Hi,
I've configured JOSSO authentication on my 4.2.2.GA portal bundle according to
the guide at http://docs.jboss.com/jbportal/v2.6.4/referenceGuide/html/sso.html.
Logging in works as expected the 'portlet security' however seems to be broken
e.g. even if logged in as admin the admin portlet is not accessible.
I've created a small portlet to print out some PortletRequest properties like
AuthType, RemoteUser, UserPrincipal and isUserInRole the output is:

auth type:JOSSO
remote user:admin
user principal:admin
role 'Admin' ?:true
role 'User' ?:false

After days of time wasted on debugging I've read something at
http://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBPORTAL-1751?decorator=printable implying
problems if you are not using the default login method.

My understanding is of this issue is very limited so if someone could explain
me why portlets restricted to the admin role are not visible even if a user is
logged in via josso with the admin role assigned I'd be very gratefull !

Thank you,
Martin

2008-03-19 Thread maralcbr
Hi Vicky/gsniderJBoss,

I have read the link you sent already. The JBossTS 2.3 programming guide too.

Went through the topic below that has a lot to do with my doubt:

http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bbop=viewtopict=95617postdays=0postorder=ascstart=10

Here is a part of my JBoss log where I can see it referencing a XA resource:

[com.arjuna.ats.internal.jta.transaction.arjunacore.lastResource.multipleWarning]

[com.arjuna.ats.internal.jta.transaction.arjunacore.lastResource.multipleWarning]
Multiple last resources have been added to the current transaction. This is
transactionally unsafe and should not be relied upon. Current resource is
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
-

As I could see JBossTS does not allow more than one 1PC resource per
transaction. Two datasources pointing to the same database are considered two
resources. Right?

My plan of action here is to enable the LRCO(last resource commit optimization)
at first, and then enable XA at Oracle and convert our datasources from local
to xa.

What do you think of this?

Thanks again.

Marcelo

Yes these are considered as two resources.
Please go to the transaction user forum for Transaction related queries , this
is JCA forum.
Anyway have a look at the following link it will explain why having multiple
one phase participants in JTA transaction are unsafe .

[jboss-user] [JBoss Tools (users)] - No Seam EL content assist after upgrade

2008-03-19 Thread chris.simons
Hi All,

I upgraded JBoss Tools via the JBoss update site (upgraded to 2.01GA). Since
upgrading I have been unable to get Seam EL content assist to work for any of
our Seam components. I've reloaded the project and checked the
org.jboss.xst.xml and .classpath files with no success. I've validated that
the project is still pointing to the Seam 2.0 library and so forth.

Anyone have an idea why might be the cause of this?

Thanks.

Hey,
I have a remote client that needs to connect secured to the server.
I follow the following post – “Accessing JNDI over HTTPS”
http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/jboss/jboss-eap-4.3/doc/Server_Configuration_Guide/html/JNDI_over_HTTP-Accessing_JNDI_over_HTTPS.html

I run the example attached and trace the transport layer with “Wireshark”.
I noticed that the protocol type is TCP and not SSL or TLS, is this ok?
How can I verify that the data is encrypted?

Thank you
