2009-06-17 Thread thomas.he...@jboss.com
Ok, so for this you don't need what has been discussed here (cross page
eventing).
In fact the scenario you mentioned is a scenario that is used in the samples
that you can deploy on JBoss Portal. There is a menu on the left column to open
various pages on which there are various samples.

Also I am surprised (or I misunderstood) that what you describe works with
portal events in other portals, the portal shouldn't redirect you on event
listening.

[jboss-user] [JBoss Tools (users)] - Hotdeploy problem (JBoss Tools not useable)

2009-06-17 Thread baz
Hello,
we are working on a maven project, that is deployed as an ear.
It is an multiproject Project.
With Eclipse europa and the latest JBT for this plattform we do not have
hotdeploy problems. We can save JSF Files and the changes are published to our
app. We can save java Files with no harm.

I have changed to eclipse ganymede + JBTools 3.0.1
But now, when i save any file, my app stops working.
An exception is thrown with this message:
You are trying to use a connection factory that has been shut down:
ManagedConnectionFactory is null

The only solution i see is to go back to europa. But than i will lose all the
new features:-(

What could be the reason, that this problem occurs only under ganymede while it
works with europa?
Ciao

[jboss-user] [JBoss Portal] - Re: Cross Page wiring in JBoss

2009-06-17 Thread dorothy
ok, my usecase is that i have a navigation portlet on every portal page. When a
link is clicked in the navigation portlet, suppose LinkA, then portletA shows
up in the right column. So this will be Page A actually with Navigation Portlet
on left and PortletA on right.

Now suppose I click the link B in Page A. What I get now is PageB, with
Navigation Portlet on left and PortletB on right. Similarly other links can now
be clicked from navigation portlet in PageB.

I would need cross-page wiring to implement this scenario.

[jboss-user] [JBoss Tools (users)] - Seam "generate-model" functionality in JBT ?

2009-06-17 Thread Cvele_eSoft
Hi all,
We are thinking to switch from Oracle ADF to JBoss Seam, and we have a lot of
questions.

Just now, wondering if JBossTools provides Seam generate-model functionality,
in order to generate JPA entity classes only, and not CRUD user interface.
In another words, is there a way to separate those two steps, ie, generating
model first (seam generate-model), and call seam generate-ui after that...

[jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - Concurrency Problem

2009-06-17 Thread wjn811
Hi guys,

I am a poor java developer... and I'm on my way pushing myself to learn more.

I met a problem when I use jBPM4.0CR1.

The problem is described as following,

My boss asked me to make a workflow, which mainly contains 2 concurrency flows.
And unfortunately, one is contained in another...
That means, a super process has a 'Con1' fork activity. And among the
executions under that 'Con1', there is a sub-process, which also contains
another fork activity 'Con2'.

Here is jpdls, (concurrency.jpdl.xml & sub_concurrency.jpdl.xml)
I hope you will understand what I am talking about~

concurrency.jpdl.xml

  | http://jbpm.org/4.0/jpdl";>
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |

sub_concurrency.jpdl.xml

  | http://jbpm.org/4.0/jpdl";>
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |

I'm sorry. I apply these nonsense names on assignees and task names :)

I make a JUnit test to run this work flow.
Then, java exceptions appears,

  | 10:46:30,185 FIN | [Execution] execution[to task4] ends

[jboss-user] [Beginners Corner] - JbossAS5+mod_jk step 0

2009-06-17 Thread jaba_o
I've been setting up this combination of Jboss+Apache.

The www directory is outside .../deploy directory in a different drive, and I'm
looking forward to serving jsp's and deploy from there. Is this possible?

Instructions below got me started fine.
http://www.jboss.org/community/wiki/UsingModjk12WithJBoss

Now I have been struggling to set context and get (embedded tomcat) it to serve
the redirected content from apache.

I get 404 page when the only modification to server.xml is adding the jvmRoute.
When I start trying with the context configuration I've been getting "Service
not Available" page, no matter what.

If someone would be so kind and write an example Host Element with Context
pointing to external source?

If I got this totally upside down then maybe a few words about what is
necessary to accomplish this. Cheers!

[jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - Deleting a ProcessInstance in jBPM 3

2009-06-17 Thread starbuxman
apologies if this is spam. I sent it to the forum mailing address but it didnt
seem like it took, so i suspect i Have to post here instead. Anyway, apologies:

Hello,

I'm wondering if there's any recipes for deleting a ProcessInstance
from the DBMS in jBPM 3?

I realize that it's, essentially, just a Hibernate object graph and
that tailing through and scorching the earth on all the foreign keys,
as I would with any Hibernate model, ought to do it.. Having said
that, I'd love to avoid doing it if somebody else has already dealt
with it, because it seems awfully hairy from where I'm sitting :-)

Is there some hidden API method unnoticed? Basically, as processes
finish, I (almost ) have a trigger that will automatically check to
see if the node that was just finished is the last for the process
instance and it inserts a record into an audit table, so that I can
easily verify process X was run for customer X with variables 1,2, and
3. I then want to purge the process instance itself from the database.
Any ideas? Is this best handled from Java or from the DBMS? I like the
idea of handling it from Java since its more easily "read" for a Java
dev, plus, it's still transactional, and may not be that much slower
:-)

Issues I can imagine are basically, what happens in the case of
concurrences, or subprocesses? If I create a concurrence and that in
turn forks 10 subprocesses, and one of the 10 subprocesses finishes, i
want it to try and delete itself. When all 10 subprocesses have
finished, the super process (the creator of the subprocesses) should
evaluate that it has no outstanding branches and then try and delete
itself. You see?

Thanks,
Josh

Indeed you seem to be having connection problems. I noticed this in the log:

!ENTRY org.eclipse.core.net 1 0 2009-06-16 12:00:44.290
!MESSAGE System property http.nonProxyHosts has been set to
local|*.local|169.254/16|*.169.254/16 by an external source. This value will be
overwritten using the values from the preferences

Can you verify that your proxies are configured correctly in Eclipse
preferences? Do other networking operations like CVS work when contacting
eclipse.org?

Yes you're right, I changed the caught exception to PersistenceException and it

Hi Wolfgang,
thanks for all your XSD related issues :) I think we should reference remote

The reason we are writing short names is that entity resolution in JBoss is

So, yes, please, open issues when you find short names as schema locations.

2009-06-17 Thread kukeltje
1: 3 is stable for a long time, the first official 4 release will be out by the
end of the month.

2: Answer could be found by searching the forum (ok should have been mentioned
more explicitly in another place but anyhow) The 3.3 releases are
'withdrawn', The major difference was support for the upcommming console and
some db updates which had to be reverted. functionality wise there were not
many differences.So 3.2.6SP1 is the latest

3: It's a few jars and dependencies nothing more.The basics of which jars is
described to some extend in the docs, but if you use maven, most can be
resolved via that mechanism.

4: Yes. like you would embed any other jar or set of jars. Nothing spelcial
about it. Sure you could have some library clashes but that is also not
different than with other jars and dependencies, e.g. xml libs, dom libs etc...
common java issues with other apps as well.

5: What is deploying non-programatically? Via pigeons? There are ant tasks that
can deploy a definition to a database, but that requires configuring a database
for this task. If you do it from your own application it is nothing more than
passing an xml file to a deploy method. This is done in many of the testcases
as well and can be seen in some examples in the forum. You could build a webapp
where you upload that file and pass it to the deploy method. Really no
rocket-science. But if you do not tell us what your problems were, we can only
guess and that is never good.

[jboss-user] [JBoss Cache: Core Edition] - Re: Manual node locking?

2009-06-17 Thread tomstrummer
Interesting, thanks Markus.

So in order to use this I would need to
(1) begin a transaction
(2) write to, say, node '/a'
(2a) any other client that tries to read '/a' will block
(3) commit transaction
(3a) clients reading '/a' will be notified and continue

Does that sound accurate?

But the DummyTransactionManager says it synchronizes in-memory only, so cache
clients on two different machines wouldn't be sync'd. Or are the node locking
calls still made by the cache client in order to sync between servers?

Thanks.

[jboss-user] [Security & JAAS/JBoss] - JBOSS Negotiate setup clarification with regards to Active D

2009-06-17 Thread dufferdo25
Hello all,
I was wondering if I could get some clarification with regards to JBOSS
Negotiate.
I am running JBOSS 5.1.0.GA and trying to incorporate the latest Negotiate
component.
I have a win2k3 Active directory and want to verify the steps in the "how-to" ,
specifically Chapter 3 (ACtive Directory).

Let me summarize my setup first:

Domain= base.myco.com
Domain Controller= dc.base.myco.com
JBOSS is on Debian machine called jportal
JBOSS fqdn= jportal.base.myco.com

Now for the first step Server User Creation
I create a user called spnego-test who belongs to the Domain Users group.

Second step Service Account Mapping:
(This is where I have a question...the docs show the following:
setspn.exe -a host/testserver.kerberos.jboss.org testserver
setspn.exe -a HTTP/testserver.kerberos.jboss.org testserver

Now is testserver the user name or the server where jboss resides?)

Do I do the following?:
setspn.exe -a host/jportal.base.myco.com spnego-test
setspn.exe -a HTTP/jportal.base.myco.com spnego-test
jportal being my jboss machine and spnego-test being the user I created

Step 3: ktpass
docs show this:
ktpass -princ host/testser...@kerberos.jboss.org -pass * -mapuser
KERBEROS\testserver
-out C:\testserver.host.keytab

Do I do the following?:
ktpass -princ host/jpor...@base.myco.com -pass * -mapuser
DC.BASE.MYCO.COM\spnego-test -out C:\spnego-test.host.keytab

Step 4:
DOcs say to do the following: ktab -k c:\testserver.host.keytab -a
testser...@kerberos.jboss.org

Do I do?:
ktab -k c:\spnego-test.host.keytab -a spnego-t...@dc.base.myco.com

Thanks for any help!

How can I make it so that when my jboss server is starting up, and when it

Thank you very much.

That looks correct (fairly close to what I have, my appender is slightly
different but if you are getting a file created then the appender declaration
is okay). Are you sure that you are using the correct category name?

You could try adding "-Dlog4j.debug" and/or "-Dlog4j.configDebug" to the
JAVA_OPTS in the run.conf. These options cause Log4J to print out information
about what it is doing - this might give some clue as to what went wrong.

Did you have any luck in reaching a conclusion. I am currently using JBoss
4.2.1 to make asynchronous web service calls to a .NET webservice. We used
Apache CXF 2.2.2 to generate the client side code and are using the callback
handler approach. I can make a successful call to the webserivce and recieve a
valid response successfully. But if we recieve a Web Service Fault from the
.NET service it fall through the cracks and is not caught by our application
code.

[jboss-user] [JBossWS] - JBoss 4.2.1 and Apache CXF 2.2.2 Client Code and AsyncHandle

2009-06-17 Thread kyle.bober
 I have implemented an Asynchronous web service call using the Call back
 approach via an AsyncHandler. I have noticed an issue where the remote web
 service is throwing a SOAPFaultException. The issue is the AsynHandler code
 I wrote does not seem to catch the exception. In fact it never receives a
 response at all. I am using Apache CXF 2.1.2 to generate the client side
 code

 How do I handle this accordingly???

 Here is the code making the Asynchronous request ::

 // Asynchronous WS callback approach
 ServiceAsyncHandler serviceAsyncHandler = new
 ServiceAsyncHandler(aSomeObject1, aSomeObject2);
 Future response = thePort.getAnalysisAsync(criteria,
 serviceAsyncHandler);

 Here is the AsyncHandler code ::

 /**
  * Aysynchronous KATDataService Handler
  */
 public void handleResponse(Response response) {
  try {
   Object object = response.get();
   this.analysis = (Analysis)object;

 // Do some processing here on the response

   } catch(SOAPFaultException ex) {
   LOGGER.error("ERROR : KATDataServiceAsyncHandler", ex);
   } catch (InterruptedException ex) {
   LOGGER.error("ERROR : KATDataServiceAsyncHandler", ex);
   } catch (ExecutionException ex) {
   LOGGER.error("ERROR : KATDataServiceAsyncHandler", ex);
   }
   }
 }

 It also seems if I place a snippet of code after I make the Asynchronous
 web service request like so ::

 try {
  response.isDone()
 } catch(SOAPFaultException ex) {
  LOGGER.error("ERROR : Calling Remote Web Service", ex);
 }

 It will catch the SOAPFaultExcpetion occasionally but not all the time so
 this is not 100% reliable. I still have an issue where the
 SOAPFaultExcpetion falls through the cracks and is not caught by either the
 AsynchHandler or the code making the Asynchronous web service call.

 Please can someone explain why this is and how I go about resolving this
 issue.

 -Kyle

Can you see the php-oci8 module in the package manager or in yum? If so, you
could just download that. I think that in the past I successfully hooked up the
PHP that came with my Linux distro to php5server - it's all in how the PATH is
set.

If there is no oci8 module, you will have to build it. If you find the exact
sources that match your PHP, you should be able to simply copy the php-oci8
module to the extensions directory (in other words, you don't have to
completely replace the PHP you already have), and update your php.ini to load
it.

Pick the JBossXACML v2.0.3.SP2 in about 10 minutes.

Fred, thanks for your questions. That got me thinking a bit.

I made the pdp.evaluate method thread safe by moving the lock there. I am
going to remove the lock from the SOAPSAMLXACMLServlet as the pdp eval is
thread safe.

Consulted some concurrency experts and they also feel that when the number of
locks is small, the Lock construct is the most efficient for synchronization.

Also, pick up the JBoss Identity Bindings 1.0.0.alpha3-SNAPSHOT from the
http://snapshots.jboss.org/maven2/org/jboss/identity/jboss-identity-bindings/1.0.0.alpha3-SNAPSHOT/

So, two things for your performance tests - pick JBossXACML v2.0.3.SP2 and
updated snapshot for JBoss Identity bindings. Tell me how good the thread
safety is in your load test results.

Regarding improving the performance, currently we are validating the request
while parsing. We can improve by providing an option to disable the validation
while parsing.

[jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - Help: Starting a project with jBPM - version, tomcat, bundle

2009-06-17 Thread the_rage
Hello there!

I'm starting a project and am evaluating jBPM for workflow needs.

However merely getting jBPM to install and work with a simple workflow has
proven to be too much of a burden so far. So before I throw it out of the
window - because it is well referenced -, I'd like to know:

- should I use version 3 or 4? Which one is stable and recommended for
production?

- if version 3 is the stable one, which package should I use? 3.2.6 seems to
have the most recent date; versions up to 3.3.1 have been released... what does
this mean?

- I intend to use Tomcat; in previous versions there was an ant script which
created an application for tomcat deployment, but no longer seems to exist; is
there an alternative method?

- I'd like jBPM to be bundled with my java Web App. Is there any documented way
to do this? I mean I don't intend to have a standalone jBPM unless that is
absolutely necessary.

- in my previous attempts with version 3, I had my share of problems deploying
workflows. I'd like to know how I can deploy them non-programmatically after I
have jBPM running on Tomcat.

Thank you in advance for your time and attention,

Francisco Passos

2009-06-17 Thread PeterJ
The jboss-service.xml contents look okay (I ignored the one from the conf
directory, not sure why you posted that). You might try monitoring the value in
the corresponding mbean named something like
jboss.remoting:host=127.0.0.1,port=3873,service=invoker,transport= socket. That
mbean tracks the thread pools.

I use JMeter to directly test EJBs. It does involve some code writing - I
created a class that extends AbstractJavaSamplerClient and used it within a
Java Request Sampler within the JMeter script. This works well with stateless
and stateful beans (don't use the JUnit Test Sampler for stateful beans).

In addition, I also have my own performance testing framework which I have used
to test both stateful and stateless EJBs.

By default it seems the jndi name of a bean is based on the ear in which it is

How can I change that behavior declaratively? I want the jndi name to be

[jboss-user] [JBoss Cache: Core Edition] - Manual node locking?

2009-06-17 Thread tomstrummer
So I suspect this is somewhat of an odd request...

I'm trying to implement OpenFire's clustering plugin using JBossCache. I can
implement their cache interface pretty easily, save for one method - getLock.

So OpenFire wants to manually acquire and release locks on cached objects.
Beyond that, OpenFire _is_ the server- it's not a J2EE app- so there's no
TransactionManager to be found.

So is there any way I can directly access JBossCache's locking APIs? (even if
it requires accessing non-public implementation classes)

I'm trying to think of a way I could "manually" synchronize on an object via
the cache - i.e. perform a "put," and if the operation does not return a
"previous value" assume I have the lock. But I'm not sure that's entirely safe
either. Any ideas on how I could accomplish such a thing?

Thanks.
-Tom

Yes, I updated the docs.

Please note, that OSGi has a build-in notion of lazy bundle activation - which
I have not (yet) looked into.

In theory this should bring startup time very close to boot time. i.e. the
'all' profile might start in < 1sec

If this is true we can put the web console into the 'default' profile without
negatively effecting the startup time.

Perhaps you'd like to have a go?

[jboss-user] [Clustering/JBoss] - Re: deploy-hasingleton broke?

2009-06-17 Thread FrankTheTank
I say also because you have multiple ways to do it:

Hasingleton or annotation with or without the farm.

Now if you place it in deploy with the annotation or into the ha singleton
folder, you will manually have to update all occurrences of your deployed file.

This is more of a usability issue.
Why use a cluster when you have to manually update all your files yourself?
The hasingleton deployer does *not* copy your file around for you!

(I'd say the Ha-singleton folder is for deploy-once-never-change stuff)

The farm can take care of this for you, but moving it to this folder would make
you lose the automatic ha-singleton barrier.
So you would thus have to annotate it.

My suggestion:
annotate it and move it to farm.

@HASingletonDeployer:
Where was your file located?

[jboss-user] [Remoting] - Remoting in JBoss 4.2.3 Question: handling timeout and disco

2009-06-17 Thread FrankTheTank
Hello,

I don't know if this is the correct place to ask such questions so if it
belongs elsewhere, pls move it.

Anyway my question concerns handling timeouts and disconnects from clients.

Example:
Say I have an EJB3 Session bean's interface that I publish with a @Remote
annotation.
Clients will connect to this interface and do their thing.

Now say a Client disconnects or times out for some reason.
Is it possible to detect such?
Say through some kind of callback method or event?

On a side note:
Does the RMI IIOP (IIRC) also allow callbacks?

thanks

[jboss-user] [Persistence, JBoss/CMP, Hibernate, Database] - Re: Can't catch exception caused by unique constraint?

2009-06-17 Thread fernando_jmt
In fact, I'm using a manual flushing, that's the reason it was working in JBoss
4.2.3.

My service:

  | @Stateless
  | @Name("genericService")
  | @AutoCreate
  | public class GenericServiceBean implements GenericService {
  |
  |
  | @In(value = "#{entityManager}")
  | private EntityManager em;
  |
  | public void create(Object entity) throws EntryDuplicatedException {
  | try {
  | em.persist(entity);
  | em.flush();
  | } catch (EntityExistsException e) {
  | throw new EntryDuplicatedException();
  | }
  | }
  |
In the above code the EntityManager is a Seam Manager Persistence Context,
which has been initiated with flush type manual in an invoker bean. Notice that
the same version of Seam is being used, so I discarted this could be a problem
of Seam version.

My EntryDuplicatedException:

  | @ApplicationException(rollback = true)
  | public class EntryDuplicatedException extends Exception {
  |
  |
  | public EntryDuplicatedException() {
  | }
  |
  | public EntryDuplicatedException(String message) {
  | super(message);
  | }
  |
  | public EntryDuplicatedException(Throwable cause) {
  | super(cause);
  | }
  | }
  |

The exception thrown in JBoss 5.1.0, where the same above code does not work, I
can't catch the exception:

[jboss-user] [Installation, Configuration & DEPLOYMENT] - Log4j is not outputting to my application specific log file

2009-06-17 Thread rizqureshi2
I have the following application entry in ../default/conf/jboss-log4j.xml:

  |
  |
  |
  |

When server starts up, it does create 'myApplication.log' file under
../default/log, but there is absolutely nothing inside that file. I have tried
adding different log levels info,debug etc. but no log is being produced. My
application logs however can be seen in server.log file. Any solution to this
would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rizwan

[jboss-user] [Clustering/JBoss] - Re: deploy-hasingleton broke?

2009-06-17 Thread newmanw10
You say you can also, I am confused.

Does this mean I should still put my ear with me MDB in the deploy-hasingleton
directory?

Also deploy-hasingleton is for the cluster! It will deploy once on the master
when the master comes up. If the master goes down a node in the cluster will
take over as the master and everything in deploy-hasingleton will now be
deployed to this new master. Hence the services in deploy-hasingleton will
only ever be deployed to one node.

I tried to use the @Depends annotation And it does not work I get a deploy
exception. My bean will not deploy becuase it is waiting on
HASingletonDeploer. Not sure why this is happening.

Has anyone used @Depends to solve the issue of trying to deploy a singleton MDB?

[jboss-user] [Security & JAAS/JBoss] - JBoss XACML: target based on attribute existence or absence

2009-06-17 Thread ffaure32
Hi all,

I've got a question concerning XACML policies (I've made some tests on JBoss
XACML with unattended results, that's why I post this message here).

I have not found any way to add a target (on a rule or a policy) that is
activated on the presence of an attribute and another one activated on the
missing of the attribute.

I've found some workarounds on my policy but I'm not really satisfied with them:
I want to activated one rule A if the attribute MY_ATTRIBUTE_TO_TESTis present
and one exclusive rule B if the attribute MY_ATTRIBUTE_TO_TESTis missing

- to test the presence of the attribute, as I know it's value, I just put a
SubjectMatch in the target corresponding to this rule

  |
  |
  |
  |
  | http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#string";>true
  | http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#string"; />
  |
  |
  |
  |

It works well if the attribute is present but it seems that the "MustBePresent"
flag is not used as I get an error message in the logs (perharps due to the
other part of my policy, cf. later):
15:25:21,382 ERROR [STDERR] 17 juin 2009 15:25:21
org.jboss.security.xacml.sunxacml.finder.AttributeFinder findAttribute
INFO: Failed to resolve any values for MY_ATTRIBUTE_TO_TEST

I'm borrowed by this error message but I can deal with it.

- to test the absence of this attribute in another rule, I did not manage to
handle it with a target:
The only solution I found is to define a boolean variable that is valuated from
the following test:

  |
  |
  |
  |
  | http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#string"; />
  |
  | http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#integer";>0
  |
  |
  |
  |

If the MY_ATTRIVUTE_TO_TEST is missing, as the "MustBePresent" flag is to
false, it is valuated to an empty bag and the string-bag-size is 0. Then,
TESTVARIABLE is put to false.

Unfortunately, I can use it in a condition but not in a target! Then, I can't
replace the first solution I had for the target if the attribute is present.

Then my policy is a little bit messy:
- one variable definition used in a condition to activate the rule if the
attribute is missing
- one test on an attribute value in a target to activate the rule if the
attribute is there

I'm sure I'm not clear but hope you'll get the point and will be able to help
me...
To sum up:
- is there a simple way to test the presence of an attribute in XACML (or is it
not in XACML principles)
- is there a simple way to implement an "else" condition or exclusive targets
without writing the tests twice?
- is there a way to remove the error log messages if a missing attribute is
possible

Thanks in advance,

Fred

Which is why hot redeploy is not recommended for production, only for
development, I can't find it at the moment but there are plenty of explanations
about it and relate to some Sun JDK bug that has neven been fixed. Other JVM
handles permgen space differently.

Unless you redeploy a new version every day you shouldn't have to restart every
night. Also on a cluster there are better approach to keep having your portal
running without any downtime.

I tried your code. Thanks for all the effort. I wish there were a web site to

However, when I run mvn install it downloaded a lot of libraries. At the end

Maybe you can decrease the number of libraries. What do you think?

If you find that it's a problem with RF javascript, you should use the

What do you mean by "wont be released when they are not needed".? Permgen space
is used for loading class definition which is needed throughout the lifetime of
serve. Unless a class is being loaded multiple times and there is a leak in
class loader, you should not see permgen space grow after certain time.

We have not seen any random behavior with permgen space during load testing of
JBoss Enterprise Portal Platform (EPP).

[jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - Logging mails in jBPM 4.0.CR1

2009-06-17 Thread nilspreusker
Dear jbpm community,

I'm wondering if there is a way to log mails instead of sending them in jBPM 4.
This would be useful for unit tests. I thought it might be possible to write a
custom MailProducer or MailSession that overrides the send method and just logs
the mail message rather than sending it. I'd also be interested to know how to
actually make jBPM use a custom MailProducer, as the example in the user guide
(jbpm-4.0.CR1) currently only shows how to override the default
MailProducerImpl in java, but misses the configuration that is required to tell
the workflow engine to use the custom producer instead of the default one.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Kind regards, Nils

[jboss-user] [JBoss Portal] - Re: Cross Page wiring in JBoss

2009-06-17 Thread thomas.he...@jboss.com
Dorothy you are right, the spec doesn't defines this as it doesn't own the
notion of page.

Hilmer's scenario is an interesting one, if the content on the other page
updates itself with something like Ajax (otherwise the other page wouldn't get
refreshed).

Dorothy, you are also right that using the portlet API a portlet cannot know on
which page it is, but most portal (such as JBoss Portal) offers an API to give
you access to that info.

OK :(
I used this guide...
I tryed to use this guide.

I noticed that many of the information are outdated.
Some of the inforamtion doesn't fit on JBoss AS 5.x

The next Problem is the mass of information, the english.

A focused step-by-step Guide would help me much more.

[jboss-user] [JBoss Portal] - Re: PermGen Space exception

2009-06-17 Thread TdeVos09
Thanks for your reply. But the problem isn't the size of the perm gen. The
problem is, that the classes within the permGen won't release after they are no
longer needed. So the PermGen will grow, grow and grow till you get a permGen
Exception. Right now we handle the issue by doing a jojo of the jboss every
night...

[jboss-user] [JBossWS] - SOAP request exception (SOAPFaultHelperJAXWS)

2009-06-17 Thread Tashtego
Hi.

I am using jboss-4.2.3.GA (will be extended through ESB 4.5 later, isnt yet
configured). I developed some stateless session beans which were give the
annotations @WebService and @WebMethod. After deploying to JBoss and testing my
service with my own webService client on the server that runs jboss, it works
correct.

But trying a .net client on another machine gives me an exception like
following. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this? Thanks in advance.

Hello...

Did you work through a guide or documentation?

I also try to set up JBoss + the booking example of the seam-framework... up to
this point everything is ok.

My next step was to start the Jboss with -c -b x.x.x.x Option.

The both nodes form a cluster and the blank Node got the booking-app from the
prepared app.

My Problem is the next step... create a failover.
In my cluster every Node has its own database and own booking-application
(reachable by the ip-address of each node)

What I have to do create redundancy/ failover... can you help me Step-by-Step ?
(what configs I have to edit and what I have to do?)

Please its urgent!

Sorry that I could help you about your question.

I do not see a reason why several instances of an application with embedded

So I'm wondering why you came to that conclusion

Hi

I have a confusison here. We are talking about pages, but does the 286 spec
even know anything about the pages. I mean creation of pages and aggregation of
portlets on the pages is implemntation specific. A portlet cannot know of the
page in which it is placed. Is this understanding incorrect?

[jboss-user] [JBoss Messaging] - Re: Completely confused by client failover

2009-06-17 Thread chtimi2
I only get this WARN during the failover so it shouldn't be a problem.

I found a solution for my missed remote client failover: now the remaining node
(which is notified of the cluster topology change) waits 10 seconds before
posting the message on the LostNode topic.
It looks like i was posting the message during the failover, and that that was
why the client couldn't receive it.

Correction:
the lookup against the separate server was done over the 192.*.*.* address.

I have also tried running jboss on my local machine (a laptop with one built-in

In this case the connection is done vial the 150.*.*.* interface.
Nothing was changed between these two systems.
I was unable to find any reason why this is done.
The network configs (I print out the info I get via the NetworkInterfaces) are
nearly the same (except for MACs and Addresses naturally).

Is there any way to see what addresses are being used?
I have looked through the jmx-console and visually scanned all the info from
the pages with links containing the partition name.

Hi

That sounds about right.

To me, what is not set in stone is, whether you can have more that one
currently viewed page or not.
In a dual monitor setup this is easily achieved, and it would make sense for
all portlets on the two pages to take part in the event distribution.

One possible way to see whether the cache doesn't evict stuff is to use Jmx to
check number of attributes and nodes in the cache and verify whether it keeps
data that should be evicted. Also, are there any eviction warning in the logs?
If there are lots of activity on the cache, eventQueusSize might get full very
quickly and eviction might get slower - that will be logged though. If so,
increase the eventQueusSize.
