The correct remoting version for JBM 1.4.2.sp1 is 2.2.2.SP11. You can try that version and see if problem still exists. Also the latest release for AS 4.x is 1.4.5.GA with remoting 2.2.3.sp1. You can also try it. All issues will be moved to next version CR1 or GA, I missed https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBIDE-5030, It is now fixed in trunk. To fix it locally you need add those files into https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBIDE-5030!/dtd folder and restart eclipse with -clean option. This issue should be fixed in last nightly build. Ahem...no answer yet. Let me summarize my previous post. I'm trying to use RBAC profile of XACML 2.0 (described here: http://docs.oasis-open.org/xacml/2.0/access_control-xacml-2.0-rbac-profile1-spec-os.pdf) I ran into some issues with it so I wrote a JUnit test (plus supporting resources). I would like to contribute it to the jboss-xacml project (I have a .diff file so it should be easy to include it) so that everyone interested in the XACML could have a look and try to explain why is it failing. I even sent a request to JBoss to become a contributor, but so far I haven't got any word from them regarding my request status. Aren't there any alternative ways I could submit the code for everyone to see? hm, seems this doesnt has a edit button. Ok, so now i've created the WEB-INF and META-INF folders and placed the web.xml inside web-inf. I need to be notified of NodeModifiedEvents. When i update my node I do receive a notification which is fine. But when the modification is rollbacked, i still receive the notification even though the event describes a rolled back operation! Sounds like a bug to me since you should only be notified of things that really changed the system state, not things that were cancelled or rolled back. I'm using Core 3.2. [jboss-user] [JBoss Messaging Users] - Re: JBoss 4.2.3 GA, JBoss Messaging 1.4.2 SP1 GA and Worker
Thanks Howard, I was able to download the JBoss Messaging zip file on Windows platform and this time around it was correctly downloaded. I upgraded to JBoss Messaging 1.4.5.GA and JBoss Remoting 2_2_3_SP1 however there is no change in my observations. The Worker Threads still remain in memory after a period of no activity on the server. By the way I thought of mentioning that if you try to run the Topic example included with JBoss Messaging by running the build.xml, it refers to a file examples.properties that is missing from the examples directory (in the downloaded zip file) . I am not sure if this was excluded on purpose. Please do let me know if you would like me to try something else and thanks again for your help. I found the problem and resolved it. Actually I was looking for 'JNDI' name in incorect format. I was using following in my jboss-web.xml (in web application) and jboss.xml (in mdb); Incorrect Reference resource-ref | res-ref-namejms/jmsConnectionFactory/res-ref-name | res-typejavax.jms.ConnectionFactory/res-type | jndi-namewmq/myFC/jndi-name | /resource-ref Where 'wmq/myFC' is connection factory I defined to use MQ Server adaptor. I edited the above part in both (In Web application and MDB) jboss-web.xml and jboss.xml a follows and it worked; Correct Reference resource-ref | res-ref-namejms/jmsConnectionFactory/res-ref-name | res-typejavax.jms.ConnectionFactory/res-type | jndi-namejava:wmq/myFC/jndi-name | /resource-ref Hope this will help someone in the future. -- SJunejo View the original post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bbop=viewtopicp=4263512#4263512 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bbop=postingmode=replyp=4263512 ___ jboss-user mailing list jboss-user@lists.jboss.org https://lists.jboss.org/mailman/listinfo/jboss-user

[jboss-user] [jBPM Users] - Re: JBPM 4.1 Web Console - Any advice for customization?
Depends on what you'll try to achieve with the application. The console is written with GWT (for questions: see the BPMC forum). Additions could be easy, if you know GWT and if the changes are minimal. Otoh, if you need to integrate eg. a task list in your own application, it might be a better idea to use jBPM in the embedded way (ie as a plain jar) View the original post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bbop=viewtopicp=4263537#4263537 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bbop=postingmode=replyp=4263537 ___ jboss-user mailing list jboss-user@lists.jboss.org https://lists.jboss.org/mailman/listinfo/jboss-user

Sure. Thanks for the response. You could use the below process defnintion and EventListener class to try to reproduce this: | ?xml version=1.0 encoding=UTF-8? | | process name=MyWorkflow xmlns=http://jbpm.org/4.0/jpdl; | |start g=11,265,80,40 | transition to=fork/ |/start | |fork g=76,263,80,40 name=fork | transition to=ValidateOne/ | transition to=ValidateTwo/ |/fork | |state g=138,450,127,52 name=ValidateOne | on event=timeout | timer name=checkValidityForOne duedate=3 minutes repeat=2 minutes/ | event-listener class=some.class.CheckValidityOneEvent | field name=idTypestring value=ID_ONE//field | /event-listener | /on | transition g=-72,-22 name=valid to=complete/ | transition g=-72,-22 name=invalid to=end/ |/state | |state g=138,450,127,52 name=ValidateTwo | on event=timeout | timer name=checkValidityForTwo duedate=4 minutes repeat=5 minutes/ | event-listener class=some.class.CheckValidityTwoEvent | field name=idTypestring value=ID_TWO//field | /event-listener | /on | transition g=-72,-22 name=valid to=complete/ | transition g=-72,-22 name=invalid to=end/ |/state | |join g=706,212,48,48 multiplicity=2 name=complete | transition to=end/ |/join | |end g=779,213,48,48 name=end/ | /process | It just has a fork, two concurrent activities (events), and a join. My sample event listener class: | @SuppressWarnings(serial) | public class CheckValidityOneEvent implements EventListener { | private final Logger log = Logger.getLogger(this.getClass()); | | @Override | public void notify(EventListenerExecution execution) throws Exception { | try { | // business logic, check for condition | | // if condition met, signal execution by id | executionService.signalExecutionById(execution.getId(), valid); | | // otherwise, do nothing | } catch (Exception ex) { | // catch all exceptions and don't rethrow them. | log.error(Exception occured: + ex.getMessage()); | } | } | } | So on each timeout, the timer will perform a check and transitions to valid only if the check is successful. Otherwise it does nothing. I won't throw any exceptions up the chain. I have my .bar and library jar deployed to jboss 5.1 GA. Let me know if you need anymore information. Thanks. All jBPM object are in fact Hibernate objects. So you can simply programmatically create a Job with the correct date and save it through the hibernate session. Best approach to this is to write a custom Command and invoke it through the CommandService (there are plenty such examples in the source code). [jboss-user] [JBoss Tools Users] - Sending vm args -b 10.0.0.10 to JBossAS in JBoss Tools
Hi , I am sorry if this is covered elsewhere in the docs, but I have looks at the faq's and searched the site for it and I cant find any indication of how to do this (I am probably missing something). I am being forced to run my web server on another machine to my App Server for development purposes, but I cant see how to send vm args to the jboss process if I debug it in eclipse. I need to send the args: -b 10.0.0.10 to the JBoss App server at startup in eclipse. Is it possible to do this with JBoss tools? Sebastion is right. Probably you need to change the log level from debug to info in server/default/conf/jboss-log4j.xml or log4j.xml in jBPM or logging.properties in jBPM. Conceptually I would say yes: it is only when the task is completed (and history is saved) that the transition is taken. Since the same Hibernate session is used when taking the transition, it could be not yet persisted but you'll find it anyway through the session. However, I did not test this, the only thing you can try is test it :-) anonymous wrote : My second question: Is there a way to obtain a reference to the HistoryService or TaskService? [jboss-user] [jBPM Users] - Re: Models of integration with JMS
anonymous wrote : I have found no reference to JMS integration, so I expect I would have to write an application which listens for incoming messages, decodes them, and invokes the appropriate jBPM workflow. Correct. Basically you need a MDB that listens to your queue/topic and calls the jBPM service. I've seen this scenario multiple times out in the wild. jBPM is 'just a jar' and as such we don't ship it with JMS listeners etc. anonymous wrote : Which brings me to the second question, how do you internally have workflows respond to a common event. ie, I want to allow workflow developers to deploy multiple workflows which all respond to a new file event. Is this possible, or would I have to launch all of the required workflows from my service, which would mean knowing which workflows need to be executed. Unfortunately, there is no such thing currently in JPDL. I know that it a use case which tends to pop up sometimes - and it is also defined in BPMN2 spec... so my current approach would be to attach in some way or the other metadata (perhaps using the process definition key - prefixes or something) to the process definitions, which is used when such an event is received. I'll double check this to see if I can trust me. I was facing too many different problems on the same time today. So it's difficult to distinguish and to reproduce theme. If I'll face the same problem I'll provide the stacktrace. Seems that this happened to me when I was testing for the right expressions to be used for my arguments. Sometimes it seemed as if they weren't correct but regardless I could deploy the process and I earned the exception when starting process instances. Maybe another case where this exception is seen but the actual one is hard to find because it's in somewhere in the cause. bwestrich wrote : | Actually, I ran into one of these errors just now (java.lang.ClassCastException: org.jbpm.jpdl.internal.model.JpdlProcessDefinition cannot be cast to j | ava.util.List) and clearing the database didn't solve it. | | Digging a little deeper, it looks like (at least when a model is deployed in a JUnit environment) when the jBPM parser parses a model file, if there's an error (such as a java class is defined that can't be found, or a class cast exception), the exception is thrown to the console but parsing continues on. This leads to the above (hard to understand) error message occurring. If you look at your system console, you hopefully will see an exception just prior to the above one, which is more informative. | View the original post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bbop=viewtopicp=4263586#4263586 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bbop=postingmode=replyp=4263586 ___ jboss-user mailing list jboss-user@lists.jboss.org https://lists.jboss.org/mailman/listinfo/jboss-user

[jboss-user] [jBPM Users] - Re: Timer throwing exception intermittently
I found the reason for this behavior. I have repeat timers in my process definition. The timeout event listeners for those timers check for a particular condition and if it is met, transition to a new activity. What's happening in that case is for some reason, though the timer is getting deleted from the database, the timer id is still being used by DispatcherThread class. It passes along this id to the ExecuteJobCmd which throws the exception I posted above as it can't find any timer in the database by that id. It retries upto 3 times and then gives up. That's why I see the exception throws 3 times in the logs. So is there a better way we could turn off the repeat timers when transitioning to a new activity? Thanks Justin and Bill. Will get on the mailing list. Its just that I have been using the JBoss forums and have done a lot of extensive searches before I post a question. I guess I can refer to the mail list archives before I post any question. Not sure if it provides any search functionality. Maybe I need to look a bit more. But may I suggest that you guys look at forums or at least presenting all the JBoss technology stack in a consistent fashion. I work for a very large telco and I am one of the JBoss champions within the organizations and one of the issues we face when we come up against guys promoting commercial products such as the Oracle stack is that open source is fragmented and difficult to get information. This is true when you compare different open source frameworks from different communities but if you decide to go with one stack (as I advocate I.E. use the JBoss stack), then we need to have all the information presented/searchable via a common format. Most of JBoss technology is in the forums but a few like SEAM have their own forum and then now RestEasy does not even use a forum and prefer mailing lists. I am not complaining as for me I will go where ever the information is available to get my job done so its not that much of an issue for me but when you look at the bigger picture, then can be an issue. The docs on the framework itself is really great. Without any prior REST background, I was able to very quickly get it working with consumes and produces of xml, json,plain text and multipart . When I make the webservice return a String it works perfectly, when I switch to a Object then it throws this exception: org.xml.sax.SAXException: Deserializing parameter 'result': could not find deserializer for type {http://ericsson.webservice.ems.com.br/EricssonMockingWebService/types}SendResponse at org.apache.axis.message.RPCHandler.onStartChild(RPCHandler.java:330) at org.apache.axis.encoding.DeserializationContextImpl.startElement(DeserializationContextImpl.java:1188) at org.apache.axis.message.SAX2EventRecorder.replay(SAX2EventRecorder.java:244) at org.apache.axis.message.SOAPElementAxisImpl.publishToHandler(SOAPElementAxisImpl.java:1407) at org.apache.axis.message.RPCElement.deserialize(RPCElement.java:263) at org.apache.axis.message.RPCElement.getParams(RPCElement.java:397) at org.apache.axis.client.Call.invoke(Call.java:2652) at org.apache.axis.client.Call.invoke(Call.java:2524) at org.apache.axis.client.Call.invokeInternal(Call.java:1976) at org.apache.axis.client.Call.invoke(Call.java:1917) at org.jboss.webservice.client.CallImpl.invoke(CallImpl.java:175) at org.apache.axis.client.AxisClientProxy.invoke(AxisClientProxy.java:251) at $Proxy145.send(Unknown Source) at br.com.ouvi.ems.gw.ericssonipx.ejb.EricssonIPXWebServiceHelperEJB.sendSms(EricssonIPXWebServiceHelperEJB.java:62) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:585) at org.jboss.invocation.Invocation.performCall(Invocation.java:345) at org.jboss.ejb.StatelessSessionContainer$ContainerInterceptor.invoke(StatelessSessionContainer.java:214) at org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.CachedConnectionInterceptor.invoke(CachedConnectionInterceptor.java:185) at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.StatelessSessionInstanceInterceptor.invoke(StatelessSessionInstanceInterceptor.java:113) at org.jboss.webservice.server.ServiceEndpointInterceptor.invoke(ServiceEndpointInterceptor.java:51) at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.CallValidationInterceptor.invoke(CallValidationInterceptor.java:48) at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.AbstractTxInterceptor.invokeNext(AbstractTxInterceptor.java:105) at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.TxInterceptorCMT.runWithTransactions(TxInterceptorCMT.java:316) at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.TxInterceptorCMT.invoke(TxInterceptorCMT.java:149) at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.SecurityInterceptor.invoke(SecurityInterceptor.java:128) at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.LogInterceptor.invoke(LogInterceptor.java:191) at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.ProxyFactoryFinderInterceptor.invoke(ProxyFactoryFinderInterceptor.java:122) at org.jboss.ejb.SessionContainer.internalInvoke(SessionContainer.java:624) at org.jboss.ejb.Container.invoke(Container.java:854) at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.local.BaseLocalProxyFactory.invoke(BaseLocalProxyFactory.java:413) at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.local.StatelessSessionProxy.invoke(StatelessSessionProxy.java:82) at $Proxy143.sendSms(Unknown Source) My client looks like this. public SendResponse sendSms(String smsMessage) throws WebserviceException { SendResponse sendSmsResponse; sendSmsResponse = null; try { System.out.println(Contacting webservice at http://localhost:8080/ws4ee/services/EricssonMockingWebService?wsdl;); URL url = new URL(http://localhost:8080/ws4ee/services/EricssonMockingWebService?wsdl;); QName qname = new QName(http://ericsson.webservice.ems.com.br;, EricssonMockingWebService); ServiceFactory factory = ServiceFactory.newInstance(); Serviceservice = factory.createService(url, qname); EricssonMockingWebServiceEndpoint endpoint = (EricssonMockingWebServiceEndpoint) service.getPort(EricssonMockingWebServiceEndpoint.class); System.out.println(output: + endpoint.send(blablabalblabl)); } catch (Exception ex) { logger.error(Exception doing sms request for IPX: + ex.getMessage(), ex); throw new WebserviceException(ex.getMessage(), ex); } return sendSmsResponse; } The exception is thrown from the line: System.out.println(output: + endpoint.send(blablabalblabl)); I am guessing I am missing a deserializer class that is produced by the wstools, but I haven't been able to find out which yet. Anybody experienced the same problem? Best regards, Eivind View the original post

I recall a discussion about this in the developer's forum. There was somebody who wanted to do the same. Maybe you search the dev's forum. As far as I recall it's possible but basically you end up with Eclipse plugin development. Looking at this exception stacktrace and our code, i don't see any obvious reason why the name isn't unbound on undeployment. Could you please create a JIRA here https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/EJBTHREE and attach your sample application to it?
