yes, that's right. I'm sorry. The ejb-name can be the same, since it only needs to be unique within the scope of a jar file. So you just need to ensure that you don't accidentially deploy both ejbs with the same jndi-path. If you do not specify a jndi path explicitely within the jboss.xml descriptor, the jndi-path will be constructed on the basis of the ejb-name and then the two ejbs won't deploy correctly because of the same jndi-path. When setting the jndi-path manually, you might want to pay special attention to the difference between the tag called jndi-name and local-jndi-name which applies to the local home interface. If you use the wrong tag, jboss will use the ejb-name to construct the jndi-name of your bean and your deployment will fail although you think you had specified the jndi-path... P.S: BTW, I do not have any experience with EJB clients. If you follow the above instructions, your ejbs will deploy correctly and will be able to coexist. I'm using this kind of configuration to isolate applications from one another. If you have one single client which has to invoke both bean versions, I don't know whether this would cause a problem on the client-side, but I could imagine that the client might run into class cast exceptions when invoking the seond bean after having invoked the first one... Hi I also get the same problem sporadically on JBoss -3.2.5, but not 3.2.3 I find that if I delete server/default/tmp and server/default/work directories, the problem often (but not always) goes away I think it is due to a bad copy of apache libraries lying around, either in my apps code, or more likely in JBoss itself, since I can get this simply starting a new installation of JBoss. Hi, I am getting the same problem on 3.2.5 My problem is sporadic and inconsistent. I work on the same code, dont change libraries and all of a sudden the app wont deploy. If I delete server/default/work and server/default/tmp directories, and restart the server the problem usually goes away. However today, when I delete and restart the server, the problem does not go away. I have all the jar/war/etc from apache in server/lib since I need to reduce deployment file size. I dont want to take them out and put them in my jar/war/ear. I dont have any of these problems with the same jar/war/ears on 3.2.3 where the app is working well and stably. Hi. i have got a problem solving the following szenario. 1. I have two MQs with delivery mode exactly once 2. I have multiple listeners requesting messages for processing from MQ A 3. Listeners do long running tasks with these messages (eg. 5 secs) 4. after processing a message it will be delivered to MQ B These thinks works perfectly well without transactions. BUT. I must go shure that each messages are processed correctly. so i added transactions to this scenario. then it is possible that multiple listener resolve a given message. -- delivery mode exactly once is violated. can anybody help? I'm getting a transaction-related problem where the TransactionManager claims that my container managed transaction is already committed during delist(). The transaction seems to commit just fine and data gets updated in my database - and the error only shows on the console and in the log. I am having trouble debugging this problem because I cannot see the full stack-trace of the nested exception. Hello, I have been reading for quite some time now about jboss caching configurations. I have a question however that I weren't able to answer on my own. What if, in my application, I need to reset all cached data when a specific event occures? (leave aside cache invalidation) I know that I can use the JMX console to flush cached data of a specific bean manually but how do I do it automatically (in other words, programmatically) for all beans in my application. Hi, I'm trying to deploy a single deployment EAR unit with a WAR and SAR to use the same classloader for WAR and the SAR. It does not explode the WAR completely before it tries to load a custom WSDDProvider which is part of the WAR. It throws a FileNotFoundException. Need both to be deployed a one unit as otherwise I get into ClassCastException issue. What could be happening here?. I am running the following tutorial : Tutorial for building J2EE Applications using JBOSS and ECLIPSE . The example asks for Jboss 3.2.1 but I am using Jboss 3.2.5, when I try to build the example I get the following errors: Missing required library : jboss-boot.jar Missing required library : jdom.jar Missing required library : javagroups-2.0 Missing required library : jbossmqha.jar Missing required library : jts.jar Have these jars been depreciated in Jboss 3.2.5 if so what have they been replaced with or do I need to download them as seperate jars. I cannot find the Jboss 3.2.1.zip file and would rather continue working with Jboss 3.2.5 thanks for any help. I receive messages from incoming queue and treat them for billing and so on so forward
them to the outgoing queue using this method.
The messages a commited and I see them in the jms_message table in DB.. But they never
dissapear ??
The messages are PERSITENT type .
Should they dissapear automatikely ?
SHould I activate something in the config ?
I also try to set the time-to-live in the standartjboss.xml whith:

I have developed a CMP entity Bean that access a table in a database in Postgres, but an error occurs. I have especified a postgres-ds.xml with a datasource named JDataSourceDS that is the jndi-name, and i copied it in server/default/deploy. On the other hand I have also copied the JDBC driver. I know that this is working OK because I've developed a BMP bean and I could access the database without problems, but I cannot do the same with CMP beans. I have installed JBoss Application Server 3.2.5. Do I have to install something else? It seems that the server doesn't support CMP beans... I currently have a very nasty problem. I have fat Java gui using EJBs in a JBOSS container. My problem is at my clients office the displayed dates differ by a day! I have not been able to replicate it at my office At first I thought it was a CMP problem On the gui where the JBOSS container is running the date display correctly but on the other pc that gets its data over the newtwork it display's one day earlier! Hi All, I have two applications developed using struts 1.1 deployed on jboss3.2.3. Individually thre are working fine when deployed on separate application servers. But when i deploy both the WAR files on the same server I get strange problems. Both the applications having been built on the same framework have same class names..eg: LoginAction class . While trying to logon to Application B the LoginAction class of application A is gettign accessed. It is very strange..as I am using different contexts to access the different applications. Can anyone throw some light if i need to tweek any configuration files for this. Hello, I am developing a Stateless Session EJB to access a JBoss datasource for client components of my application. The EJB delegates to a plain old java class which is the jdbc wrapper. I am using JBoss 3.2.5, MySql 4.0.12, j2sdk1.4.2_05 and the mysql-connector-java-3.1.3-beta driver. The call sequence is: 1) pojo client -- ejb.create() 2) pojo client -- ejb.getConnection() -- databaseWrapper.getConnection() 3) pojo client -- ejb.getResultAsString(sql) -- databaseWrapper.getResultAsString(sql) 4) pojo client -- ejb.closeConnection() -- databaseWrapper.closeConnection() I receive the stack trace at the end of this post when I leave the scope of the method pojoWrapper.getConnection() (All this does is lookup Datasource and invoke getConnection() and getStatement() which are held as references in the pojo wrapper): Some additional data that makes this puzzling: - The datasource connection is not closed until the explicit close call is made from my client code - If I remove the close invocation from the client code the JBoss console confirms the close method is not called on the EJB - sql executes successfully - from my debugging it appears the transaction manager performs a check on the connection cache to see if connections have been closed and this call fails consistently I am evaluating JBoss as a canidate for a client's integration project and I have very tight timelines.
