[JBoss-user] [Beginners Corner] - Re: creating a new instance of Jboss

2005-09-17 Thread prakah
Hello ravi,

I didn't understand ur problem clearly. But, from my understanding, u want to
run two instances of jboss in same machine at the same time. If i am correct, u
can use the following steps.

Suppose, if u want run the two instances of jboss in default configuration,

1. Create a new configuration from default configuration.
2. In the new configuration u have created, comment out the Service Binding
service in conf/jboss-service.xml

Now, u can run the two instance of jboss (default and newly created) from the
same machine.

Thanks and Regards,
Prakash.A

looked fine. hope it helps.

2005-09-17 Thread Motormind
I have some members that need to have a local coy of a cache while others don't
need that at all. Is it possible to segment that behavior? I tried to give the
seperate members different configuration files (one with persistence and the
others without), but it look slike the cache-behavior gets overridden ever
tyime I connect a new member,.

Is it possible to segment this behavior?

I can't get into the jboss admin programs either. I can run Tomcat stand-alone

2005-09-17 Thread darranl
JBoss is not secured by default, the only exception to this is if you use the
new installer which has an option to secure JBoss.

When someone replies to your questions and asks you to do something please make
sure it is clear in your subsequent posts if you have done this, I asked you to
check the server log for any stack traces. (There may be some DEBUG stack
traces so you just need to look for ones at other levels).

What port do you configure Tomcat to use? What URL do you connect to Tomcat
with?

What URL are you using to connect to JBoss?

E.g the doc has the following sentence:

If there is a target window in the URL, the page where this window resides is

How do add a target window? What is the syntax for the url?

Also, I can see a lot of special url formats, are thet documented anywhere ?

The JAAS how to examples used the ClientLoginModule on the client side to send
the username and password from the client to the server, you are trying to pass
the username and password into the InitalContext constructor.

Have a look at: -

http://docs.jboss.org/jbossas/jboss4guide/r3/html/ch3.chapter.htm

Section 3.2.1.3 for the LoginInitialContextFactory that allows you to specify
the username and password the way you are.

[JBoss-user] [JBossCache] - Re: jboss-cache in weblogic 9.0

2005-09-17 Thread ragavgomatam
Hi all ,

After a lot of trial frustation, I have found the solution, thought I might
share with the forum...

(1) Weblogic 9.0 and weblogic 8.1 sp4 appears to work only with jboss cache
1.1.1 and NOT the latest jboss cache 1.2.3So I had to downgrade the version
to get it working

(2) I think, this is so because of the jgroups versions involvedWeblogic
keeps throwing org.jgroups.Address not found exception inspite of jgroups.jar
being in the server class path...

(3) Also any attempts to bind to weblogic jndi using prefix java:/jboss-cache
causes an Operation UnSupported ExceptionSolution is to remove the
java:/ prefix and use a normal string instead to bind to weblogic context..

Things are ok after that

Generating document literal web services is the best bet when you have clients
in different programming languages. The reason is that support for rpc/literal
may not be upto mark in some of the other languages/tech in comparison to
Java/J2EE.

I did look at that, and that is why I have added the commons jars to the
WEN-INF/lib directory as they contain the package. This must be some kind of
class loader issue, its almost as if the jar was never included in the
compilation..

Regards,
Nikhil

Can you show the exact error message ?

I think this is due to JRockit, and I fixed this in JGroups 2.2.9. Can you try
it out with 2.2.9 beta and let us know here ?
