[jdev] Possible inconsistency with roster pushes
Hi, According to the current RFC and the bis version, roster pushes are to be sent to available resources that have requested the roster only. I think it makes more sense to say that roster pushes should be sent to active resources that have requested the roster. For instance, there would be a scenario wherein an automated client would be doing roster management without the need to have presence. It would require to be updated on roster activities without the need for presence information about contacts. Another case is when a client representing a user resource a switches from available to active state and another resource b adds a presence subscription to contact c. The server will not send a roster push to a since its not available. a subsequently comes online and the presence information of c is received by a, but the client does not process it since it is not aware of the roster item. WDYAT? Regards, Vinod.

[jdev] [ANN]VTD-XML 2.2
XimpleWare is proud to announce the the release of version 2.2 of VTD-XML, the next generation XML parsers/indexer/slicer/editor. This release significantly expands VTD-XML's ability to slice, split, edit and incrementally update the XML documents. To this end, we introduce the concept of namespace-compensated element fragment. This release also adds VTD+XML index writing capability to the VTD Navigator class. Other enhancements in this release include index size pre-computation, support for HTTP get, and some bug fixes. Have you tried agsXMPP lib? This is supposed to work on Windows Mobile if I recall correctly. Re: [jdev] client library in java or c# (for mobile phone) ?
Thanks a lot Tobias for your quick response. It worked. :-) I tried it 2 days ago, it didn't work. And I tried it today again. And it worked. :-) Earlier, I tried to compile the core library, did something wrong there and created a mess. This time, I used the library directly and just compiled the example myself. Worked like a hot knife in the butter. What I understood is, it's a very nice library. I would use that in very near future, when I will need to write code in .net cf. Right now, I will write some code in Java, so another library that I was able to use, would be more useful at the moment. Best Regards. Re: [jdev] client library in java or c# (for mobile phone) ?
Thanks Mostafa Hazam and Karim Hamadan. The beep library worked for me. I just had to tweak the example a little bit. The examples include the user's credentials as hard code and doesn't use the user interface. So, when I first tried the example, it looked like it would not work. But in the end, it was working properly. Hopefully, I will provide you with direct feedback about the library very soon. Good work. Wish you all the best. Neun. I didn't say I would reject emails from jimmy chang, only that I would moderate them. As far as I can see, he announces new versions of his software on just about every discussion list that is even vaguely related to XML. I think there are better way to get the word out.
