That should be a good introduction to XMPP.

True.
But we have quantity instead of quality.
Many unfinished, or barely stared projects.

Maybe you could put your efforts in improving one of them instead of
starting yet-another-one?

These clients and servers need developers.

Do you really want to write yet another client that doesn't even
support SASL or Privacy Lists?
Is there a need for yet another perl mail-checker?

I know starting something by yourself might be tempting.
But working as a part of a team is something that may be really
worthwile trying up. And really usefull in real life. You'll learn the
same tech skills as while working by your own, but in addition many
new, usefull group and social skills.

I'm currently working on some small utils for jabber as Open Source. I write

If you do not want to think of something new for yorself, you may want to have

Besides that, it would be very cool to have native IRC support in ejabberd

offer Jabber and IRC! :-)

2005-01-05 Thread Dan Plesse
Hi Peter, Thanks for your reply before.

Thanks for the reply. Yes it seems that

The problem could be caused by the redirect of

http://jabber.org/crossdomain.xml

to

http://www.jabber.org/crossdomain.xml

I was also wondering if a crossdomain.xml could be added to zeus.jabber.org
server since the connections seem to be going to that server.

Also I was wondering if the redirect was recently added a few nights ago,
hence the source of my problem. I assumed it was my code that was the source
of the problem.

[JDEV] Hi ...Request for MSN-TRansport updation

2003-10-03 Thread Yogindar Das Y

Hi
I think you can add a small support
for msn-transport.

Just add

curl_easy_setopt(curl, CURLOPT_PROXY, "proxy-host.com:8080");
curl_easy_setopt(curl, CURLOPT_PROXYUSERPWD, "user:password");

in the functionmt_ssl_auth() of ns.c so that
it will communicate with the passport authentication server through the proxy
environment specified.

The hardcoded value of the proxy server and port
,username and password for authentication in the code can be made flexible by
reading it from the configuration file msnt.xml as follows

proxy set="on"
 hostproxy-host.com/host
 port8080/port
 auth set="on"

useruser/user

passpassword/pass
 /auth
/port
the set="on" or "off" option for proxy tag can be
used as an option to work through a proxy server or not

the set="on" or "off" option forauth tag can
be used as an option to work through a proxy server with authentication turned
on or off.

Iam not sure how much value it is adding to
msn-transport but still I have added the curl api's and found the msn-transport
started working through a proxy server.

Yogindar

The client just has to support normal jabber functionality (presence,

Anyway, here it is:

i used windows vc++ win32 for everything
no external libs or any parsers.
memory tested: there should be no memory leaks!

functionality is quite basic. more like psi...
well, i t needs time :)
