Can it be that they convert, say, Yahoo - SIMPLE - sametime locally? honestly I see no point in doing two conversions on same box. So it seemed more natural for me that, say, Yahoo provide SIP/SIMPLE interface and IBM uses it. Yahoo is already integrated with MSN. So they have to have some sort of internal protocol.
