After changing JENKINS_PORT ,

Change JENKINS_AJP_PORT

Change it from JENKINS_AJP_PORT="8009" OR whatever value to JENKINS_AJP_PORT="-1"

It will work for sure.

Lokesh Agrawal

Daniel Beck
 resolved JENKINS-17008 as Wont Fix

Config changes stop Jenkins from running on next restart, stop/start, reboot.

Resolving as Won't Fix: Restrictions on ports up to 1024 or so are (at least by default) reserved for root on Linux. Being a platform-independent program, Jenkins is limited in the choice of solutions to this issue.

Common solutions include setting up a reverse proxy such as nginx in front of Jenkins that forwards requests from 80 (and 443) to 8080; or configuring iptables to redirect incoming requests at port 80 to port 8080.

Not sure what the bug here is supposed to be, it's simply just a fundamental issue with processes not running as root on Linux. There are solutions, but those are not (easily) available to Java programs.

The setting can be changed to pretty much any value between 1025-65535.

Which Jenkins version does this occur with?
