SAML plugin with SSO
Hi , We are planning to implement MFA(multi factor authentication) for Jenkins 2.138 . I installed SAML plugin 1.0.7 and configured it with IDP metadata provided by service provider.Display Name attribute and group attribute are auto filled by Jenkins as below . After restarting Jenkins , it goes through all the MFA steps like entering username /password/OTP(PIN) and after successful verification of all the login information , it goes back to SSO login screen instead of Jenkins application . We are using project -based Matrix Authorization Strategy which is tied with Network username and password(ENT). Any idea why we are not able to connect to the Jenkins application ? Thanks in advance. [image: image.png] -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Jenkins Users" group. Thanks for your response. Before posting in the group, I already did my research, also I'm not expecting anybody to research on my behalf. I tried to with different versions of plugins but no luck . Re: Config.xml of the job gets lost/deleted randomnly on jenkins restart or saving the configuration after changing it
Do you backup the jobs directory ? If yes, you can replace the existing config.xml with the one from backups. Also , when you make changes to a Job configuration in Jenkins hit save but Not APPLY . If you click on Apply , I noticed that config.xml will disappear. I installed workflow-step-api plugin manually by copying workflow-step-api.hpi version 2.0 under the Jenkins plugins directory and restarted Jenkins. But I don't see the plugin in Jenkins under installed tab. Did it miss anything ? Please help. We are planning to migrate to Jboss 6. . I installed JDK 1.8 on our test server . It now has both JDK 1.7 and JDK1.8 so that Jenkins jobs can use either JDK1.7 or JDK 1.8 . When I compile our code with JDK 1.8, I'm receiving this error: C:/Jenkins/XYZ/workspace/build.xml :116 :Class not found:javac1.8. Please help. Re: project-based security is missing .. please help
Thanks Eric. I figured out that under Manage Jenkins -> Global Security , If Project-based Matrix Authorization Strategy is selected , it will allow you to setup ACL to individual projects. We can restore config.xml of a particular project from the backups and restart Jenkins tomcat. It works !!!
