J2 - Menu Navigation - Root Folder
Hi David, Reposing my question on the developer thread. The problem is org.apache.jetspeed.profiler.ProfiledPageContext interface and all the other related interfaces are very convinient to navigate child elements. But it is tough to reach the root folder, or to traverse up the tree. Now the reason I need to traverse up the tree is because I need to display a tabbed menu interface which goes 3 levels deep. Something similar to amazon.com. Now all the samples included in J2 display all the child folders and sub-elements, but there is no example that basically displays everything under pages directory in like a tree format and let user choose where he wants to go. Would really appreciate any help. For now the I am thinking of workaround where I will go 5 levels down. I dont think I need to worry for more than that. Also to reach the root folder, I am using following macro - #macro(createTree $folder) #set($parent = $folder.getParent()) #if($parent != /) #createTree($parent) #else #set($folder=$parent) #end #end Thanks for all your helps, Amit - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: J2 - Menu Navigation - Root Folder
Shah, Right the problem is that the API is not designed to allow arbitrary use of the getParent() method because the profiler does not construct a complete view of the site on each page request. The reason is that it can be costly generate views of the site that are not necessarily going to be visited by the user. Instead, we would expect this to be done using document sets. Perhaps it is easy, perhaps not. Can you please generate an example set of folders and pages you'd like to add to your layout and I'd be glad to assist. Re: J2 - Menu Navigation - Root Folder
Security requirements are very simple. Untill a user is not logged on, he should not able to see the Customer Area Sub Menu. Once he logs on, he can access that area too. Besides, I am thinking of having permissions say P1. If user doesnot have P1, he gets different view to Comparision Tool submenu. Instead of seeing the normal Tool 1 and Tool 2, he would probably get another psml file saying that are not subscribed to Tool1 and Tool 2. In terms of how I layout my files, I have no preferences. Please suggest me the best way to lay them out for the above requirements. I really appreciate your help. Please let me know if you need any more info. RE: Problem with J2 build and HSQLDB drop table command syntax
I solved the problem. It seems I had maven-torque-plugin-3.1.1-dev.jar. I replaced that with maven-torque-plugin-3.1.1.jar and everything else worked ok. It was a coincidence that I had the same wrong plugin at my client's site. -Original Message- From: Bob Fleischman [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, February 16, 2005 4:58 PM To: 'Jetspeed Developers List' Subject: RE: Problem with J2 build and HSQLDB drop table command syntax I did a checkout from CVS, in eclipse, just a few weeks ago and then an update last night.
