Re: RSS Portlet

2005-02-17 Thread Carlos Torres
Thanks Chris, i found it.

If anybody need or like to know, the answer is

Copy the xalan.jar from Jetspeed distribution to
$CATALINA_HOME/common/endorsed directory (or JDK endorsed directory)

See you.

Carlos.

Re: Read a psml file

2005-02-09 Thread Carlos Torres
Hi
You could read the parameter in the psml file as a XML file with DOM or SAX
API.
I didn't know if it is your question, if not explain better
If you need to change the attribute or parameter in the psml you could read
it and transform in a DOM object and write it back, with the new attribute,
in the file.

  Hi all; if i know the psml name... how could i have a parameter in
  this psml file?

  Not sure if I understand the question, but I'll try.
  To change the parameters on a portlet instance, you can edit the psml
  file by hand, for example the StockQuote portlet, override the default
  init parameters on a portlet instance:

  entry id=P-f570871a5a-10008 parent=StockQuote
  layout position=-1 size=-1
  property name=column value=0/
  property name=row value=1/
  /layout

  parameter name=symbols value=MSFT,IBM,ORCL,SUNW,ITGW/

  /entry

  or change them from the running portlet. For example the StockQuote
  portlet provides an edit mode to edit the parameters

  For example let's suppose i have in the file a.psml a parameter called
  text. well in a portlet called b how can i have this parameter?
  Thanks

  Programatically a Jetspeed-1 portlet can access its PSML parameters by
  via the portlet instance

http://portals.apache.org/jetspeed-1/apidocs/org/apache/jetspeed/portal/PortletInstance.html

  The are a few variations on this, see the example portlets that come
  with the distribution

 Hi,

 What about J2? Can you configure fragments responsible for portlets in
 similar way? Can you add a paramater tag to the psml file? And finally
 can you access those parameters programatically later?

 Thank you for any help.

Re: File Upload

2005-02-03 Thread Carlos Torres
I used all of the answers and made this:

private boolean uploadFile(RunData runData, String location)
{
 boolean ok = false;
  try
  {
   Object filename = runData.getRequest().getParameter(filename);
   FileItem fi = runData.getParameters().getFileItem(filename);
   FileUploader fu = new FileUploader();
   ok = fu.upload(fi, location, null);
  }
  catch(Exception e)
  {
   System.out.println(uploadFile - ERRO:  + e.getMessage());
  }
  return ok;
 }

using a from with a input type=file and using a form as
form method=post enctype=multipart/form-data

Thank you for all.

See you

I pretty much followed the instructions in the link I sent you. I
created a JSP page with a form, and used Turbine's parameter parser to
snag the FileItem.

If you read the FileItem's api, its very easy to use. I just call a
write on the FileItem when I can confirm its all good.

Don't be afraid to read the API's, they can help you immensely.

I haven't converted my portlet to use commons-upload (or whatever its
called)

The difference between the example and mine is the controll and controller.
In the example is used this:

  parameter name=_menustate value=closed /
 /entry
 entry id=328 parent=RoleForm
  parameter name=_menustate value=closed /

 .

Could be it the problem that I can't make the Tab Button desappear?

 In JS1.5, you could create your own class which extends ActionEvent
 instead of JLogoutUser. Within this class you can redirect on logout
 to any other page. You also need to modify the turbine resources
 property action.logout to use your class instead of JLogoutUser.

Re: Page Parameters

2004-12-30 Thread Carlos Torres
I solved the problems with these actions:

Change the tomcat web.xml, the JetSpeedResources.properties and my jsp page
to encode as UTF-8 and a script to encode(javascript escape function) all
fields of the page and decode this imn my portlet class.

Thank you very much for the help.

see you...

 encoding support all characters? How to make it run...

 Strange... JS1.5 supports localization pretty well so I guess you should
 check your custom code
 and possibly DB setup for encoding issues.

 Also chek your browser encoding settings when accessing the portal page,
 it should be automatically
 set to UTF-8 (you can also get the encoding information of a web page
 through the Page Info or
 Properties dialog of yoru browser.

Re: PSML Change in Runtime

2004-11-24 Thread Carlos Torres
The screen didn't change after I make the change.
I sumit a request to my application and I change the psml file. When the
results come back to the screen it must be changed.
There is the parameter
services.PsmlManager.scanRate=120
in JetspeedResource.properties file. But I must change immediately.

 When you said the screen didn't change, did it change after a few minutes
or
 after you bounce your container?
 The psml can be stored in cache and refreshed periodically depending on
the
 setup in the JetspeedResource.properties file.

 I tried this way too:

   JetspeedPortletInstance pi =
 (JetspeedPortletInstance)getInstance(runData);
   Profile profile = pi.getProfile();
   PsmlManagerService exporterService =

(PsmlManagerService)TurbineServices.getInstance().getService(PsmlImportMana
 ger);
   PSMLDocument psmlNew = exporterService.getDocument(file_path);
   profile.setDocument(psmlNew);
profile.store();
   ((JetspeedRunData)runData).setProfile(profile);
QueryLocator locator = new QueryLocator(QueryLocator.QUERY_USER);
   exporterService.refresh(locator);

 and get the same result, the psml file change but the screen no.

 If anybody hava an idea, I thanks a lot.
