Thank you for your information. The patch is

(But I cannot test it right now.)

By the way, I tested on ia32 architecture with the same disk 
(kernel version is 2.4.20-pre11) while ago. I was surely successful with
mkfs.jfs, mount and read/write. I suppose this problem may be architecture
specific.

I heard that the block layer bug about >1TB device was fixed around 
version 2.4.18. Are there still bug in sd driver?
