There are lots of possibilities. Maybe a summer of code project? It would be
great fun.

Cool! And now that I actually have an android, even cooler!

Q: is it possible to create a URL or so, that would auto load the app
with a particular protein? Or better: with a particular Jmol script?

What I am getting at, is that I want to have QR codes on slides on
lectures, allowing students to open the structures I am displaying on
the slide, directly on their phones...

Right on...this page seems to suggest that you need to associate URLs or
data types with your application in its AndroidManifest.xml file:

YES! And the user would be directed to the Market if they do not have the
app.

I think it's just a change in Jmol.js, but I don't yet know what the change
is. Definitely something to try. We would not have interactivity.

Bob, this is just INCREDIBLE! WOW! You continue to knock my socks off!

(For those who haven't visited this site, Bob has put there a very
cool short video that shows amazing new and natural human-Jmol
interaction modes using the tablet gyroscope.)

I guess getting Jmol on an Apple iPad is hopeless, tho? (We got an
iPad2 for my wife and since she doesn't know/care about Jmol, its
great for her. But apparently no java, no flash.)

Downloaded! Any chance browser applets could be set up to point to the
Android application if browser support for Java fails...? I'd be willing to
modify code I have for existing applets, but I'm not familiar with the
innards of Jmol (and especially the Android app).
