[JOYnet] Dont underestimate anything., however funny it might be...

2002-09-22 Thread Prejomy Jose

Don’t underestimate anything……., however funny it might be...

This is a real story that happened between the customer of General Motors
and its Customer-Care Executive. A complaint was received by the Pontiac
Division of General Motors:

"This is the second time I have written to you, and I don’t blame you for
not answering me, because I sounded crazy, but it is a fact that we have a
tradition in our family of Ice-Cream for dessert after dinner each night.
But the kind of ice cream varies so, every night, after we've eaten, the
whole family votes on which kind of ice cream we should have and I drive
down to the store to get it. It's also a fact that I recently purchased a
new Pontiac and since then my trips to the store have created a problem. You
see, every time I buy a vanilla ice cream, when I start back from the store
my car won't start. If I get any other kind of ice cream, the car starts
just fine. I want you to know I'm serious about this question, no matter how
silly it sounds"

"What is there about a Pontiac that makes it not start when I get vanilla
ice cream, and easy to start whenever I get any other kind?" The Pontiac
President was understandably skeptical about the letter, but sent an
Engineer to check it out anyway. The latter was surprised to be greeted by a
successful, obviously well educated man in a fine neighborhood. He had
arranged to meet the man just after dinnertime, so the two hopped into the
car and drove to the ice cream store. It was
Vanilla ice cream that night and, sure enough, after they came back to the
car, it wouldn't start. The Engineer returned for three more nights. The
first night, they got chocolate. The car started. The second night, he got
strawberry. The car started. The third night he ordered vanilla. The car
failed to start.

Now the Engineer, being a logical man, refused to believe that this man's
car was allergic to vanilla ice cream. He arranged, therefore, to continue
his visits for as long as it took to solve the problem. And toward this end
he began to take notes: he jotted down all sorts of data: time of day, type
of gas uses, time to drive back and forth etc. In a short time, he had a
clue: the man took less time to buy vanilla than any other flavor.

Why? The answer was in the layout of the store. Vanilla, being the most
popular flavor, was in a separate case at the front of the store for quick
pickup. All the other flavors were kept in the back of the store at a
different counter where it took considerably longer to check out the flavor.
Now, the question for the Engineer was why the car wouldn't start when it
took less time. Eureka - Time was now the problem - not he vanilla ice
cream

The engineer quickly came up with the answer: "vapour lock". It was
happening every night; but the extra time taken to get the other flavors
allowed the engine to cool down sufficiently to start. When the man got
vanilla, the engine was still too hot for the vapour lock to dissipate.

Remember:

God has created every thing for good. Even crazy looking problems are
sometimes real and all problems seem to be simple only when we find the
solution with cool thinking along with Jesus. We should intimate him for
all-even silly things and shall wait for his expert answer and shall not
proceed with our own conclusions.

Don't just say its "IMPOSSIBLE" without putting a sincere effort...
Observe the word "IMPOSSIBLE" carefully... Looking closer you will see, "I'M
POSSIBLE".…… with Jesus, My Savior, Lord & Messiah

What really matters is your attitude and your perception.

[JOYnet] FW: Peace

2002-09-22 Thread George Joseph Fernandes

Written by Mario Bermejo:
Peace seems to be a scant commodity in the world today. I said "seems"
because real peace may be present even in the midst of chaos as the
following anecdote vividly portrays.
The theme chosen for an on-the-spot painting competition was "PEACE". At
stake was honor, fame and cash. Contestants were asked to depict on canvas
as best they could the subject of peace. The artists had the whole day to
work on their pieces - in the evening was the awarding ceremony. The
completed works of art were displayed before the judges, some of whom were
well-known artists themselves. One painting was a country scene in the night
with the moon and stars lighting the cloudless sky. Another painting showed
an old farmhouse with little children gleefully playing around. Another
depicts the tranquillity of a lake reflecting majestic mountains in the
background. Still another portrayed a modern city asleep peacefully in the
midst of a light-gilded landscape. The rest of the paintings were typical of
what people may consider scenes of serenity, quietude and tranquillity.
However, one painting stood out from among the others in that it portrayed a
raging storm in its fury - with a little bird that appeared to be singing as
it found refuge under a huge and mighty rock. The judges were unanimous this
was the best portrayal of what peace really is.
This reminds me of Jesus when He was peacefully asleep while His disciples
were in a state of panic because the boat they were on board was being
buffeted by a storm in the middle of the sea. In fear they woke up their
Master and complained that they were about to sink into the depths of the
sea. Jesus rebuked them and calmed the storm by saying, "Peace, be still".
How could you panic, "Oh, ye of little faith", when the Prince of Peace was
in your midst?
PEACE IS NOT THE ABSENCE OF TROUBLE BUT THE PRESENCE OF GOD.

[JOYnet] Saved by a minute

2002-09-22 Thread Alfred Samji

It's been some time since I shared something in the net here. Yesterday the
good Lord saved me from death by a minute. If it wasn't for Him I would be
'the late Joynetter Alfred Samji'. It was yesterday morning when I was
walking from the church to my office when I just crossed a junction all full
of traffic signals. I crossed the junction and had walked about a minute
away from the junction when a recklessly overspeeding car jumped the red
signal hitting a Dubai Transport' public transport bus and then speeding out
of control hitting another school bus then speeding onto the pavement (where
I was a minue ago) without stopping. The car missed me by a minute. If I
had left the church a minute later and thus reached the junction a minute
later you would all be praying for my soul to rest in peace. It is amazing
to be in the care of the Lord. Praise be to the Almighty whose love for us
is immeasurable. He loves us without reason.

Regards in the love of Christ our King,
Samji / Dubai
