Hi, See, nobody suddenly starts searching for god. Please find out what prompted your brother to take the decision to "turn to God", and why (inspite of being a catholic) he did not seek Jesus(The obvious choice). There must be some reason(or some Close friend may be influencing him) which he may not be telling you. Spend some time with him and/or ask his close friends. Try to help him with his problems. Simply telling him about Jesus will not help you(He may get irritated and try to keep away from you). We are praying for your brother. But along with prayer, we need to help him deal with his problems. Our dearest family in Jesus We thank you for all your prayer support for the out reach we made to Adoor engineering college. Indeed it was an effort of we, the joynetters for we felt the prayer support of u all. Through this we all came to feel and experience the real guiding of holy sprit .we had always longed for a JY group at Adoor and lord gave us a wonder opportunity for that. About 15 of us from our family members at Chengannur were there and it was Mohan chettan (Mohan Alex, Adoor -many of you may be knowing him) who did all the necessary arrangements for us at Sacred hearts church Adoor We thought that there would be about 8-12 students from Adoor but as usual Jesus work was far beyond our expectations. There were about 35 students from there (in spite of the fact that tomorrow is their college day). They all very actively participated in the songs and were very keen in hearing lords words. In all the sessions we could really feel the guiding of holy spirit Praise the lord! They have decided to gather for the prayer on every Thursday from 5 - 6 p.m at sacred hearts church and today is there first gathering .my dear brothers and sisters please do remember them in all your prayers especially for Teena, Ria, Carole, Priya, Jibin ...you all know that since it is there initial stages theyll have a lot of troubles and temptations and please do pray that lord give them the strength to be close with him as you all are now. Please do pray for the vicar of that church. He was very kind to give us the place to gather. Hi all, We are all made so beautiful na? When we were born, it gave so much of joy to our parents. Our brothers & sisters were so excited. God used us to bring joy to our loved ones. Thank you Jesus, my Creator. Whenever I was in need, our parents where more than ready to help me, nourish me with love, affection, care, support and whatever they had. Amma & Achan (Mom and Dad), thank you. Jesus I thank you for my family. Chetan & chechi (elder brother & sister) were always there to guide me. To teach me so many new and wonderful things. They appreciated me and encouraged me when I learnt things from them. I was good at studies, pencil drawing, singing. Though I failed to thank Him for giving these and so many other gifts, He continues to give them. Jesus, sorry yaar, but now on I thank you. I am blessed with so many good friends, who really care. I thank Hormise, my friend and class-mate who led me to my greatest gift, JESUS. I thank Sony chechi who started our college prayer group, for God really changed my life through it. I thank Julie, Jisa, Cini, Siju, Sudha, Rajesh, Jim and so many other Prayer Group members who like loving parents guided me and nourished me with the Word of God. Also all who served the Lord for conducting various JY programmes, retreats that I attended and especially the preachers of the Word. I am now a part of many small prayer fellowships. To my great surprise, God has used me to inspire others, sometimes heal others. Jesus, thank you for this undeserving providence. Dear Joynetters, This is a testimony about how the Lord has brought me through, during difficult times. My testimony is somewhat similar to what Jennifer had shared. I was going through a tough time in my office, was having bad days at work from past 2 weeks. Nothing was working out, everything was going quite the opposite. I surrendered everything to the Lords will and asked Him to give me His grace and strength in all my sufferings. In the meantime I got another job opportunity but before going for the interview I wasnt sure if I should go or not, since I had a very good boss and also good colleagues except for one person in the office. And I dont know what was going wrong, suddenly everyone started acting indifferent. However, I prayed to the Lord and also had asked some of my friends (joynetters) to pray for me. The Lord inspired me to go for the interview and I also passed out all 4 rounds and the final round was to be held at Bangalore. Again I wasnt sure if I should go for it, I surrendered myself to His will and sought guidance from the Lord to take a decision. Even my parents were not willing (since I am the only daughter),even though at first they said go ahead. I thank the Lord for helping me take a right decision. Praise God. I would also like to thank all those who prayed for me, especially Jennifer. I was able to take a right decision and dropped the idea of going to Bangalore. Howe! ve! r I was wondering why He had inspired me to go for the interview? I was feeling nervous before attending it, but after praying I was able face it. May be the Lord wanted to put this confidence in me and so he made me attend this interview. Before deciding upon this I was feeling tensed as to what decision should I take. I wasnt able to attend mass in the morning, was not sure if I could go in the evening also, then my dad came to pick me and told that hes going to take me for mass. I was feeling so happy, also I was able to attend the fellowship meeting after mass. I was feeling very much at peace after receiving Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. I really thank the Lord for loving me so much and being by my side everytime I needed Him. Hes such a Loving Lord. And if I were to count the blessings He has showered upon me, this whole life will not be enough, as this hymn goes . Count your Blessings Name them one by one And it will surprise you What the Lord has done. Even yesterday I wasnt able to go for mass in the morning, coz I woke up late. I was feeling bad about it. However the Lord helped me to go for mass in the evening. And Lo! As it was a thanksgiving mass (the person who was offering this mass was completing 60yrs and celebrating his wedding anniversary). So the reading, gospel and sermon everything was on Thankfullness Now I understood why the Lord wanted me to attend this mass. The gospel was about the 10 Leppers, where are the other nine?(Jason had quoted it yesterday). And the Lord inspired me to testify this on joynet. And I am able to Thank the Lord today for all those blessings which He has showered upon me. Day by day He has been giving me a total new experience of His love and new loving touch as if it is for the first time. His mercies are new every morning ... Sorry for being a bit lengthy. Thanks for reading till the end. I am thankfull to all those friends who have been strengthening me with their prayers and helping me to grow in the Love of our Lord. THANK YOU JESUS. [JOYnet] Thankful to God for the wonderful Experience
Dear Friends in Christ, I thank my God with joyful heart for the wonderful God- experience given to me last week during the retreat over here. Hope, you all remember the mail from Wilson Thomas, Singapore, requesting prayer for the series of retreats conducted by Fr. Abraham and team, Kulathuvayal. Yes, Thank you a lot for all your prayers. It was really a good experience. About 450 people were there for the 3-days retreat. Response and cooperation was good. We could see a thirst in all hearts for the word of God. The weather was too supporting. Everything went on well as planned. Followed by that there was 2-days nurses retreat and 4-days (2 evenings and 2 full days) leaders retreat. I would like to highlight my personal experience during the leaders retreat, which was on 6- 9th Feb. We were about 35 people representing the JY teams and different prayer groups in Singapore. First of all I thank God for calling by name, me and my husband together, for such a showering of blessings. Through the Deep Confession, Inner healing prayers before the Holly Eucharist, Counseling, Infilling of Holly Spirit prayers and other Services, I cannot articulate the inner peace, joy and freedom myself and my husband experienced. . There was very strong outpouring of holly spirit, and his graces and blessings, during each service. Even though I have attended similar retreat before, this was indeed special for me, as we were together as a family. I could not control my joyful tears, while father was announcing the graces that God was showering to each and everyone. We were divided into small groups and all members prayed for the team member one by one laying hands up on the head. When I kneeled down for my turn, thanked God - "You are so grateful and merciful Lord, as you called me by name for this, without considering my worthiness, when I am a poor sinner even to stand before you". God was revealing many things to me by signs and messages through the team members. That time Father said to me "Mother Mary is anointing you with oil by putting the sign of cross on your head ". I have been feeling a special presence and protection of Mother Mary since the 2nd day of the retreat (first open retreat started on Ist Feb.) and father re- confirmed it. Yes, those days I believe, a beginning for a new spirit filled life in Christ. Dear friends, it would be great if you can pray saying one "Hail Mary" for me and my husband and all 35 people attended that leadership retreat in Singapore that we all stay in the same spirit with God to fulfill his plan for God's kingdom in Singapore. Dear Bro. & sis'. in jesus, We all belive Holy spirit is always with us to strengthen our ways. ...And it is true in all sense... Pray to HolySpirit for all people we meet in our day to day life ..We can experience the amazing results... Especially when we need a favour from another person, pray to holyspirit to bless him.Then ask him for the favour or help.Sure it is granted always..Becasue it is no one but HolySpirit is guiding him..So how can the decision be aganist us? I have experienced the power of prayer to HOLY Spirit, when dealing with some govt. offices. I had to approach a few govt officers and offices, three years back for clearing some papers.As we all know getting things done thru proper channel in time is not very easy in govt. offices here.Further more some of the offices I had to approach was notorious for bribery. What I did all time was, just before talking to the officer , I did pray for him to Holy Spirit.I begged Holy Spirit to shower his blessings to the concerned person.The Result was wonderful!!! I did never experience a problem Every thing was very smooth before me.. When we are travelling on a vehicle pray for the driver Pray to Holyspirit to control his thoughts and decisions.When you are driving pray for other drivers and all things on the road that you are going to meet.Our Journey will be so safe.sure.Because it is no one but Holyspirit is guiding all of them Now a prayer request too I know we have a mailing address dedicated for prayer request.But I think the reqeusts there are consolidated and given to joynet once in a week or so.I need your prayer help very urgently ,that is why i am sending this mail here. Now I request your kind prayer support for my interview in one software company in technopark TVM. Last saturday we had a test (infact more than fifteen thousand applicants were there and they had called nealy thousand people for the test).Today the company people called my home (KTM) and enquired whether it is possible for me to attend an interview tomm 11 pm.As I am now at thrissur, my parents told, it is not be possible for me to reach TVM by that time.So the authorities told that they would be calling me another day. I am very much thankful to the God Almighty for getting a call from the company.The crowd was so high for the test and i did n't expect that i would clear the test.SO it is really a blessing.. So now I am waiting for a call from them within one-two days.Please pray for me to get the call again in time and clear the interview if it is good for me and the company and if it is there for me in HIS plan. Please pray for me and all the concerned people in the company . Please pray to Holy Spirit to bless me and company people to take right decisions. Especailly please pray for the interview board Infact I am not sure about how to approach the interview...Some problems are there before me regarding my qualifications. I have got two-three reputed certifications.Some of my friends who are in the industry told me that sometimes these certifications can make me overqualified when trying for freshers openings..So I am in a confusion that , should I produce these things during my interview or not...? Please pray for me to take right decisions in all these matters. February 12, 2003 St. GAUDENTIUS Bishop Confessor (360-427) LIFE& MISSION: Gaudentius was a native of Brisca, recieved education from St.Philastrius,the Bishop of that city, and then visited monks in Palestine & Egypt.He was living in a monastery at Caesarea in Capodocia, when his Bishop died , the people of Brescia in Italy insisted St.Gaudentius to be the successor.St.Ambrose called him back to Briscaunder obedience and consecrated him. When returning from there ,he brought back with him numerous relics of the Apostles, of St.John the baptist, and of the 40 martyrs of Sebaste. These he enshrined in a Basilica to which he gave the name of *. Council of the Saints..*He was a loyal supporter of the cause of St John Chrysostom, whom he had met in Antioch,and when the pope & the Western Emperor dispatched an Embassy ! to the Eastern Emperoron behalf of the banished Chrysostom,St Gaudentius was one of the three Bishop sent. The mission was badly recieved at costantinople, its members imprisoned in a fortress, greviously maltreated , and finally placed on an unseaworthy vessel which, it was hoped , would flounder at sea. St Gaudentius returned home safely, however after 4 months.He is remembered chiefly for his eloquent extemore sermons. COMMENT: The history of the Saints reveals what a great creative forces lies in religion and how much it can achieve despite human weakness &imperfections..It demonstrates how the church &the faith have again & again shown an indestructible vitality in the face of most difficult times.Have we ever cosidered , for instance how we might have acted if we were in that sort of difficult situations? ! The answer happened on the THIRD DAY, the RESURRECTION OF JESUS. By HIS death JESUS destroyed the devil, who has the Power over death and in this way frees humans who were slaves all their lives because of their fear of death. ( Heb. 2:15) GOD EXALTED JESUS AND GAVE HIM THE NAME WHICH OUTSHINES ALL NAMES, SO THAT AT THE NAME OF JESUS ALL KNEES SHOULD BEND IN HEAVEN, ON EARTH AND AMONG THE DEAD AND ALL TONGUES PROCLAIM THAT CHRIST JESUS IS THE LORD, TO THE GLORY OF GOD THE FATHER. Phil.2:9-11. And have been given ALL AUTHORITY IN HEAVEN AND EARTH. ( Mt. 28:18.) Didnt JESUS know the answer? Of course, HE knew the answer. JESUS HIMSELF said to HIS Apostles THREE times about HIS sufferings, death on the cross and HIS resurrection on the THIRD day. (Mt. 16: 21; 17:22,23; 20:17-19.) Jesus even said to the Jews about HIS Death and Resurrection. (Jn. 2:19-22). JESUS even after HIS resurrection taught, explained THE ANSWER to HIS disciples. (Lk. 24:25-27.) Is it not written that the CHRIST SHOULD SUFFER ALL THESE and THEN ENTER HIS GLORY? Lk. 24: 26. In closing, a suggested PRAYER. I will PRAY to YOU, LORD: ANSWER me, GOD at a time YOU CHOOSE. dear joynetters! long time since i mailed you all! i've been sick for sometime ( i'd rather not go into the details!) but thankfully i'm still alive! anyway, remember i put in a prayer request for my proposal?! well guess what? i'm still busy with it! :) shortly before my deadline i became violently ill (no i was'nt looking for an excuse or pretending to be sick) and had to be taken home. i came back only on monday ( this week) and have been working on it ever since. the good news is, i can see things working out already. i am just claiming the promises of Jesus and all your prayers on my behalf. i know everything will work out and i just want to give you all a BIG net hug! I am quoting the mails received so far that remind us on the Topic of this 1/2 Month : Thankfulness Priya : We all know that the Bible Calendar dedicated half of this month for - Thankfulness. Mathew Joseph : Now.. shall we move on to discussion and sharings on the topic "Thankfulness" Reshma : From today JY bible calendar theme is "THANKFULNESS" Jennifer : I am sharing this with you all because for me it was another experience of Christ's love and I want to thank God for loving me so much and a few more. Joynetters. We are over 800 in number. And yet the people who ever thought of being Thankful do not even cross. TEN. That means for the over 800 Joynetters only 10 thought of being Thankful. That means using my wierd maths calculation for every 10 Joynetters only 0.125. I think then the Lepers were much better off than us. Because out of 10 Lepers 1 came back. (... i know ... i know surely 0.5 or 0.125 could not come back... but still u get my point. Our ratio of thanks on Joynet couldnt even beat that number). Come on Guys u gotta be Thanful for something. Have you thought about this Every time u crossed the Road and you didnt meet with an Accident... have u thanked the Lord for that. Every time u climbed ur steps, walked on floor and u didnt trip and fall have u thanked the Lord for that. Every time u put on the switch and u didnt meet with an electric shock ... have u thanked the Lord for that. Nothing is beyond the loving mercy of Jesus. The lepers, outcasts of society, were hidden in their shame and poverty. As Jesus passed by, they dared to appear and plead for healing. Jesus told them to go to the priests which meant they had to pass through a crowd who scorned them in their abhorrent state. On the way the miraculous happened, a healing touch from the compassionate hand of Jesus. So excited were nine cured lepers, in total disbelief they rushed excitedly to show everyone. Only one remembered that magic word - thank you. It is a heart-warming word that draws us closely to the giver of all. Gratitude is often neglected. We are so spoilt with the blessings of life, friendship and good health, our lives are so rich we cannot visualise what it is like to be an outcast, to be socially stigmatised.
