I used to watch Miracle NET channel which is gaining popularity day by day. I liked it coz of the powerful preaching of the Word of God, which at times did help me. But gradually I began to realize the hidden danger that comes wrapped up in the word of God. I am writing this especially for those in JOYnet who still like these programmes. Whether knowingly or unknowingly, they are preaching that suffering, pains etc. are a curse, and "they are never our GOOD GOD's will". I've seen Benny Hinn making fun of Catholic faith referring to its teachings that sufferings can be due to God's will and great blessings can be achieved from it. St. Paul expresses his concern over some churches in his letter to Philippians. "Brothers, be united in imitating me. Keep youe eyes fixed on those who act according to the example you have from me. For there are so many people of whom I have often warned you, and I warn you again with tears in my eyes, who behave like enemies of Christ's cross." - Phil 3: 17-18. "It makes me happy to be suffering for you now, and in my own body to make up all the hardships that still have to be undergone by Christ for the sake of His body, the Church." - Col 1:24 Yes my dear friends, we do have the privilege to suffer for Jesus & His Church. And indeed WE ARE MAKING UP FOR ALL SUFFERINGS JESUS HAVE TO UNDERGO. We being His body can fulfill and complement His sufferings. "Hold on to the CROSS tightly.." says Mother Mary to Fr. Hi friends, i had requested for all your prayers for my studies and job search and i thank all of you again from the heights and depths of my heart truly b/c i have really felt and experienced the blessings and graces showered upon me through all your prayer support, love, and care i found out this last Mon that I had MATCHED--meaning that i would be blessed with a residency training job as of July. one month ago, i was going through lots of confusion about specialty choice and stress of job interviews and i turned to the WORD for comfort and answers and what i received was Daniel 3:39-40: "With a contrite heart and humble spirit let us be received..For those who trust in the Lord will not be put to shame." Praise the Lord!! on Thur i found out where-- RESURRECTION Hospital in North Chicago, IL (only 20 minutes from my house by car and near new JYC headquarters) for the field of FAMILY PRACTICE (meaning i can medically care for people ages 1 to end of life, do pediatrics, female medicine/obstetrics/gynecology, adult medicine, geriatrics, and even a little bit of pyschiatry)--- this was my first choice hospital. it is the central hospital of the largest chain of Catholic Hosp in Chicago under the sponsorship of the Sisters of Resurrection. I loved the Catholic environment with all its values (no birth control pills, no abortions, i can speak about God freely, etc) and the faculty and other senior residents were so friendly and supportive. i felt at home during the interview... i never prayed for this hospital or this field but for GOD's WILL to be done in my professional life and all aspects of my life!!! since i was a child (since i could remember) i DREAMED of becoming a doctor and making people feel better. in highschool and early college, i PLANNED/HOPED on pursing a career in medicine. during my last two years of college, i surrendered all my DREAMS/PLANS/HOPES to the LORD and i prayed, "Lord if this is not what you will for me, take it away; i am willing to give up all of my plans so that your plans (which are better and more beautiful than i can ever imagine mine to be) can prevail in my life!!! it wasn't easy for me to do this at all but i felt that once i experienced the LOVE of JESUS in my life, i only wanted to do what HE willed for me and be lead by HIS plans!!! now when i look back, this surrendering truly has blessed my medical studies and helped me to be where i am today!!! i completely surrender myself and my call to healing in the hands of Jesus and i pray daily to Jesus and Mother Mary that i be able to heal in the image of the GREATEST PHYSICIAN-JESUS CHRIST and i request all of your prayers so i be able to live upto what the Lord calls me to be i have 4 more weeks of clinical rotations (i am doing cardiology now)... i will be done with my medical school rotations second week of April...if God permits, i will be also goign to visit my family in India in MAY...i will get my MD diploma May 31 and graduation is Mon June 2 in NY. 21st MARCH 2003 ST.NICHOLAS DE FLUE ( 1417--1487) LIFE: Nicholas was born near the Lake of the four Cantons, in Switzerland.As a young man he was for some years a soldier, fighting for his native Canton and rising to the rank of a captian.He then married Dorothy Wyss & was blessed with an offspring of ten children.A respected citizen , he took an active part in the civil and polictical life of his country and held office as councillor and magistrate --all the while spending whole nights in prayer. At the age of 50, in 1467, after a vision of the Blessed Trinity, he resolved that he must leave all and go away to live entirely for God.Having obtained the consent of his wife and arranged the affairs of the family, he retired to the mountains of solitude of Ranft, where the people soon built him aliitle cell and chapel. Here he spent the last twenty years in prayer and great austerity .Many witnesses have testified that during those years he took neither food or drink, but only Holy Communion. **Brother Klaus ** as he was popularly known, was greatly venerated even beyond the swiss border.People high and low flocked to his cell to seek counsel and prayer. His reputation for sanctity spread, and he attracted spiritual students. In 1481 he was called on to mediate a dispute that threatened civil war in Switzerland. He succeeded in averting the conflict, then retired to his hermitage. He is considered by many to be the father of this country, honored by both Swiss Protestants and Catholics for his wisdom, holiness and work to unify Switzerland. Hi Friends, Good wishes in the Lord. We, the Jesus Youth in Delhi(India), are planning to conduct a Nurses' Conference, for the nurses in North India. It is named as EXODUS-2003, and is sheduled from the 15th to the 18th of May, at St. Michael's School, Pusa Road, Delhi. Please pray for it's success, esp. for the Intercession, Mobilisation and Coordination Teams and also for the Resource Persons. We are expecting atleast 750 participants. Dear Friends in Christ, As you know the war is started in Gulf. Lat us hope and pray for the least casualties. War is on Iraque, but it is not only the Iraquies who are going to suffer. In a way or another the whole mankind is suffering. Who or what is the cause behind all these is not the major issue. For a while let us think about the actual effects of war. - There are many foreigners (many of our known ones too) are working in the near by countries of Iraque, like Quite and so on. Many of there dependence are doing their studies. Many have planned their marriage and future. Many are living depending on them. If the employed ones are returned, the study, marriage, planning of future, livelihood, everything will be in trouble. - If a large number of persons working in gulf are returned, unemployment and related crime will be increased. - Many of the persons who are depended on the gulf money will be psychologically affected and diseases and deth will be increased. - Cost of living will increase, and indirect looting will take place These are the indirect effects. Apart from these the aftereffects of war also will be terrible. There will be severe unemployment insecurity and famin will be there in the country where war is going on. If the near and dear ones are lost in the war, the affected people will develop a kind of anti social mentality and this is harmful for the mankind in the longrun. Such anti social mentalities will lead to anti social, terrorist and criminal activities.which will spoil the peace of the mankind.. So let us say one hailmary daily and pray to the Queen of Peace to bring an end to this situation and console all the wounded hearts with her love and console. We all are the organs of body of Christ, so if one organ is suffering the other organs are bound to share that pain. Let us try our best ot bring an end for this crises through our prayer and penance.
