[JOYnet] Important prayer request! - P L E A S E!
My dear Joynet family, I have an important prayer request for you. Please pray very hard so that God will do miracles in this impossible situation. This prayer is for a family (husband, wife, two kids) who is very close to me. The couples have been married for the past 7 years. Their family life is nothing but terrible. The husband/chettan has been accusing the wife/chechy all these years. He hurt her physically & mentally.. He is addicted to alcohol. His main problem is uncontrollable temper. This chechy and her family tried their best to please this man all the time but no use. The actual problem started even before their marriage (since the day before their engagement day). [This chettans family background is also very bad. His parents were separated for a long time (not divorced). After so many years, now the parents are living together. So when this Chettan was young, he lived with his father and his sister lived with his mother. I can simply say that his father is a living satan. I am sorry to say thatbut thats what everyone says about him. His mentality, attitudes, things he doesall are totally different than a normal human being. Chettan in this story loves his father so much and will do only whatever his father tells him to do. Anyway, His mother is such a pavum lady like the Chechy in this story. Just few months back, his sister got divorced. She has one son. Basically the whole family has some fundamental problems.] This family hasbeen going through problems. Even the Chechys family thought aboutdivorce with this Chettan. They lived separately almost two months. Butnow they are living together.but the problems are still there. Anyway, this Saturday we having a special retreat for married couples in our church. This is very special that its only including a very small number of couples. Someone contacted this chettan before and asked him to attend this retreat. He said he will attendBut, two days ago, he told his wife that..dont think I will go to the retreat ..i dont want anyone to hope that they will see me change because of this retreat..njan retreat-ne poyittu marunnathu kanan arum agrahikkanda..enne nannakkan arum nokkandaetc etc etc. We all were hoping to see a miracle in their family life after this Saturday. But, now.we all are depressed that he decided to not to go. But, I am sure God can do miracles in secondsIts never late for our loving Father. So, can you all please pray for this familyespecially for him to have the desire to attend this retreat. Pleaspleaseeeplease pray ... [JOYnet] Great Lessons For Life - very touchy!
1 - Most Important Lesson During my second month of school, our professor gave us a pop quiz. I was a conscientious student and had breezed through the questions, until I read the last one: "What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?" Surely this was some kind of joke. I had seen the cleaning woman several times. She was tall, dark-haired and in her 50s, but how would I know her name? I handed in my paper, leaving the last question blank. Just before class ended, one student asked if the last question would count toward our quiz grade. "Absolutely," said the professor. "In your careers, you will meet many people. All are significant. They deserve your attention and care, even if all you do is smile and say 'hello'." I've never forgotten that lesson. I've also never forgotten her name was Dorothy. 2 - Second Important Lesson - Pickup in the Rain One night, at 11:30 PM, an older African American woman was standing on the side of an Alabama highway trying to endure a lashing rain storm. Hercar had broken down and she desperately needed a ride. Soaking wet, she decided to flag down the next car. A young white man stopped to help her, generally unheard of in those conflict-filled 1960s. The man took her to safety, helped her get assistance and put her into a taxi cab. She seemed to bein a big hurry, but wrote down his address and thanked him. Seven days went by and a knock came on the man's door. To his surprise, a giant console color TV was delivered to his home A special note was attached. It read: "Thank you so much for assisting me on the highway the other night. The rain drenched not only my clothes, but also my spirits. Then you came along. Because of you, I was able to make it to my dying husband's bedside just before he passed away. God bless you for helping me and unselfishly serving others." Mrs. Nat King Cole. 3 - Third Important Lesson - Always remember those who serve. In the days when an ice cream sundae cost much less, a 10-year-old boy entered a hotel coffee shop and sat at a table. A waitress put a glass of water in front of him. "How much is an ice cream sundae?" he asked. "Fifty cents," replied the waitress. The little boy pulled his hand out his pocket and studied the coins in it. "Well, how much is a plain dish of ice cream?" he inquired. By now more people were waiting for a table and the waitress was growingimpatient. "Thirty-five cents," she brusquely replied." The little boy again counted his coins. "I'll have the plain ice cream," he said. The waitress brought the ice cream, put the bill on the table and walked away. The boy finished the ice cream, paid the cashier and left. When the waitress came back, she began to cry as she wiped down the table. There, placed neatly beside the empty dish, were two nickels and five pennies - You see, he couldn't have the sundae, because he had to have enough left to leave her a tip. 4 - Fourth Important Lesson - Giving When it Counts Many years ago, when I worked as a volunteer at a hospital, I got to know alittle girl named Liz who was suffering from a rare and serious disease. Her only chance of recovery appeared to be a blood transfusion from her 5-year-old brother, who had miraculously survivedthe same disease and had developed the antibodies needed to combat the illness. The doctor explained the situation to her little brother, and asked the little boy if he would be willing to give his blood to his sister. I saw him hesitate for only a moment before taking a deep breath and saying, "Yes, I'll do it if it will save her." As the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed next to his sister and smiled, as we all did, seeing the color returning to her cheeks. Then his face grew pale and his smile faded. He looked up at the doctor and asked with a trembling voice,"Will I start to die right away?" Being young, the little boy had misunderstood the doctor; he thought he was going to have to give his sister all of his blood in order to save her. [JOYnet] Wooden Bowl! - sad story!
I guarantee you will remember the tale of the Wooden Bowl tomorrow, a week from now, a month from now, a year from now. A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year old grandson. The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered. The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth. The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. "We must do something about Grandfather," said the son. I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor. So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner. Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl. When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometime he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone. Still! , the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food. The four-year-old watched it all in silence. One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly, "What are you making?" Just as sweetly, the boy responded, "Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up." The four-year-old smiled and went back to work. The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done. That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table. For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled. On a positive note, I've learned that, no matter what happens how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow. I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights. I've learned that, regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your life. I've learned that making a "living" is not the same thing as making a "life." I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance. I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back. I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you. But, if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others, your work and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you. I've learned that w! henever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision. I've learned that every day, you should reach out and touch someone. People love that human touch -- holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back. I've learned that I still have a lot to learn. I've learned that you should pass this on to everyone you care about. I just did. God Bless You Always, Rosy MSN 8 helps ELIMINATE E-MAIL VIRUSES. Get 2 months FREE*. [JOYnet] Prayer request - I feel weird!
All my dear ones, I have a prayer request. I feel weird that I have been loosing too many things for the past few weeks. I have been noticing this since I have lost my watch which was very favor to me. I lost it while I was walking from the parking lot to my work. That time I thought just the strap was loose and I lost it. Butfollwing that I been loosing too many items. Last Saturday I was holding my friend's college ID and after a little while I lost it. I have no idea what happened to it. Two days ago, I was at home and had my cell phone in the jacket. To go to college, I steped out from the house and walked to the car which was parked just outside of my house. While I was in the car, I looked for the cell phone to make an important phone call and I noticed that it's not with me. I looked everywhere..inside my house...outside of my housein the car...everyweherebut I wasn't able to find it. (I feel like someone is behind me & taking all my stuffs away..)! I just feel very bad about what been happening to me. Because of this, I am giving troubles to others also. May be it's because I am not cautious enough - but happening it again and again making me feel so sad. Is God trying to tell me something ? Is God is trying to teach me a lesson? I don't know... Please remember me in your prayers..pleaseeee.... Love and prayers, Rosy Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8. Get 2 months FREE*. This mail is generated from JOYnet, a Jesus Youth mailing list.
