servlet optimization

2000-11-24 Thread deepak gupta

hi all,
I am working on a problem where we have the option of
having 50 servlets =
containing all the 50 classes with proper methods
inthem
with parameter containing the class required

OR

seperate servlets for each and every one

could any one guide me which approach should we follow
It would be of great help if you could give me a
quantative analysis.

thanks in advance

Re: can i store an ArrayList in Session?

2000-11-10 Thread deepak gupta

hi everybody
We are working on a project
which u can call as application hosting.
basically we have some programmes written in the our site(In ASP)
where user enters the some input ,
that input is processed by ASP
result is given to user.

Now what we want to achieve is that we have some method by which other
portal
show these application on theier site.
but results should be processed by our site only.(To protect Intelectual
property)

could anyone help us achieve this by suggesting an architect for this

setAttribute is defined in servlet API 2.2. you might be using an older
version. so check your version.

That's strange -- setAttribute should be able to take in any object.

More specifically, take your result set and place it
 in a collection
and pass the collection to the JSP. (Check the
 archive for exactly how)

Yes i have but what exactly is your problem
You simply have to create the connection in your
 bean and call
  that method
  on your JSP page.

 accept form

 For example, I often

 "MyParam1",
"MyParam2", etc. and I use a simple loop in a
 servlet to read these
in. Is there a way to design a bean to accept
 parameters like this?
What about nested ones (MyParam1Sub1, MyParam1Sub2)?
  Also, is there
an easy way to display things from a database with
 jsp's?

 thanks,
