JSP Editors (was RE: Using Runtime.getRuntime().exec() function)

2000-07-12 Thread Andrew Craig

The only one that I know of off hand that is free is Forte (found at
http://www.sun.com/forte/ffj/ce/ ). I am sure that there are many others
though. A plain text editor is all that is really needed anyway, though the
syntax highlighting in Forte is handy...

Anyone know of any others easy/cheap to get hold of?

 You are trying to exec a program called "java
 ApplicationName" by doing
 that.

 Instead try :

 String cmd[]=new String[2];
 cmd[0]="java";
 cmd[1]="ApplicationName";
 try {
 Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmd);
 } catch(java.io.IOException e) {
 }

 As far as I remember this should work...

why not use textpad.all the debugging editors r bullshit.forte startup takes
lot of time, and running forte,any web server at the same time is not
advisable as it drastically slows down the system.

Hi All,

I used to use HomeSite for HTML/ASP and ColdFusion Studio for ColdFusion.
But I wanted to know if there is such tools for JSP where it is a simple
fast text editor with Lang. Help and so on..

Thanks for your time

Re: JSP Editors

1999-07-04 Thread Lastname Firstname

I am using NetObjects Fusion 3.0 right now to do my JSP pages. It has been
working fairly well, although I am simply adding the non-HTML components
via HTML insertion on specific HTML components. Does anyone know of any
tool which will be actually fully supporting the core JSP tags in the near
future (or has a good system for custom tag design)? Does anyone know
whether NetObjects Fusion 4.0 be supporting JSP tags in the near future?

Hi all. What editors are you all using to edit JSP pages? We're just
starting with JHTML (will switch to JSP soon), and are running into
problems using FrontPage. For instance, FrontPage doesn't like JHTML
expressions inside of html tags (e.g., an expression to set the value of a
form field). Any recommendations? Or are you all just using emacs and
waiting for better tool support?

Subject: JSP Editors

Hi all. What editors are you all using to edit JSP pages? We're just
starting
with JHTML (will switch to JSP soon), and are running into problems using
FrontPage. For instance, FrontPage doesn't like JHTML expressions inside of
html tags (e.g., an expression to set the value of a form field). Any
recommendations? Or are you all just using emacs and waiting for better
tool
support?

Thanks,
-Tim Harrison
