That's definitively the way to go. Did not remember this option, thanks.

Thanks Ede,  for your answer and for the efforts you did.
On Ubuntu side, OpenJDK gives more problems, especially on displaying.
Oracle JRE seems more stable than OpenJDK. I will try to use JRE 1.7 and see .

Re: [JPP-Devel] Replacement of Union and Node-Line & documentation

2011-11-16 Thread Stefan Steiniger
Hi Michael & others,

I will have a look at it the next days... and am a bit skeptical to
merge too many things (using rather the rule: more functions but simple
to use). but it may make sense here.
If I am not getting back on that in until monday please remind my.

That issue makes me also think about documentation - just finished
writing a user manual for the movement analysis toolbox... pheww.. that
takes quite some time. But fortunately thats part of my work.

In a recent discussion with Martin on JTS documentation he made an
excellent comment that wikis are more for unstructured data. And well..
user docs are structured, and that is also what we see on our wiki - its
not best for writing a real user guide/manual. However, I heard now a
couple of times that people use sphinx for documentation... (e.g.
Geotools, OSGEO LiveDVD). They say it requires quite some learning but
is beneficial at the end (also for multi languages) so..mhm.. maybe
some day we should look at it (i.e. how geotools does use it)

ok.. enough on that topic.

just another note: did you guys see that SF has now also a bunch of
personal tool for a user account (GIT, Wiki, File downloads) .. so I can
finally move some "private project" stuff there.

cheers from overseas
stefan

I have generated long time ago lots of categories according to user

so, I think that sould be it? or do you think of someting special?

Re: [JPP-Devel] OpenJUMP roadmap 1.5 - Sextante Icons

2011-11-16 Thread Michaël Michaud

Hi Peppe,

I wanted to talk to you about this problem, but I did not have time to
check if there is a programmatic solution to stretch the icon.

Anyway, loading an icon having the exact final dimension is probably better.

Hi all,

I read on OJ 1.5 "Other UI Improvements" that Toolbar icons are too
small.
Limiting to Sextante, I realized that I had a solution on my Eclypse.
So I attached to this mail

Sextante_062.jar

- Toolbar icon is now 20x20, like standard toolbar icons
- I added on Sextante Menu "History" and "Comand Line" plugins . I
don't think that Command line works but it would good to give a test
(if there are people working with OJ/Sextante)

I will work around to the other icon problems ("New project", "Open"
and "Save selected datasets" icons are too small)

It seems maintainable (RendererTree source code is in the

I've currently too many thinks to improve on my todo list, but you could

[JPP-Devel] Replacement of Union and Node-Line

I would like to remove Union and Node-Line plugins to keep the UI as
simple and comprehensive as possible,
But of course, I'd like to hear from actual users first,

Don't forget to test last development version from the openjump-snapshot at

[JPP-Devel] Questions about Spatialite reader plugin source code

2011-11-16 Thread Rahkonen Jukka
Hi,

I have couple of questions about Spatialite reader plugin
http://dfn.dl.sourceforge.net/project/jump-pilot/OpenJUMP_plugins/Database%20Plugins/SpatialLite_reader_plugin/1.3/spatialliteplugin1.3.zip

The plugin is pretty nice but unfortunately it does not work properly or at all
with OJ versions newer than 1.3. In addition even with old OJ it has some bugs
at least with opening polygon layers. The source code seems to be included
mostly inside spatialite1.3.jar file. However, I can see only
RendererTree.class but not a corresponding .java file.

I have not managed to contact the author of the plugin with e-mail. What do you
developers say, if I should find some day a friendly person knowing both Java
and Spatialite, could it be relatively easy to start fixing the plugin with the
sources we have available?

2011-11-16 Thread edgar . soldin
i added the extensions as it is common in other software. to distinct the
option from all files.

problem with the old "all files" was that it is really an "all supported" and
does not show unknown extensions. but sometimes you have a file with a wrong
extension and this way you can see those. on windows file dialoges you can even
rename them in the file dialog which i find usually very handy.

i'll shorten the all supported to a reasonable value with (...) ok?

Re: [JPP-Devel] "All supported file types" option in file choser

2011-11-16 Thread Giuseppe Aruta
I found another big bug connected to this topic on Ubuntu: the button arrow on
right side of scroll down is not displayed.
"All supported file types" seems not to be internationalized
For my point of view  the old way till OJ 1.4.2  was working better :"All file"
option was more than I would expect

Re: [JPP-Devel] "All supported file types" option in file choser

2011-11-16 Thread Giuseppe Aruta
It seems that this problem comes out with my Ubuntu 11.10 (and 11.04).
I tested with OpenJDK(1.6.0_30) and JRE  1.60_20.
With OpenJDK I cannot even scroll down to see all file types
