I also agree with Uwe's suggestions.
I'm quite busy these time. So if you want to move menu items as proposed
by Uwe, go ahead, otherwise, I'll try to do it before next release, but
I can't give a timeline.

I prefer not to announce a timeline for next release.
I'd like
- to have a look to last bug reports
- to include some more icons from Giuseppe
- to make some tests with OpenJUMP + Sextante as I think there may be
some fixes to do before a new release.
Also, I would have liked to synchronize next release with JTS 1.12
release, but this is not a decisive condition.

What do you mean about those two layer bugs fixed ?

Michael,

I think Uwe's suggestions are a good idea. Let me know if you get too
busy. I can try to squeeze the menu adjustment into my weekend.

Did you have a tentative timeline for the next release? I'd like to
get those two (2) layer bugs fixed first, but I'm not sure how much
time I would have left to get this done.

Hi Peppe,

Overlay also works with LineStrings and Points.
I think it is better the keep the name Overlay
or maybe Intersection for this function.

[JPP-Devel] R: Menu Analysis

2011-05-31 Thread Giuseppe Aruta
I agree with Uwe's proposal.
BTW the Overlay plugin basically does only one overlay analysis = intersect. It
would be better to call it "Intersect Polygon Layers".

Hi,

There are some propositions around there to change (improve) the

Uwe's proposal (OGC geometric analysis functions + some
specials, in alphabetical order)

Peppe's distribution

I agree with most of Uwe's propositions.

Maybe I would let "Convex Hull on Layer" in another menu along with
Polygonization, Thiessen polygons, Planar graph, (future)
Triangulation...

I'm not yet sure if I'll change the menu before 1.4.1 final, but if
anyone has opinion about what must be included in "Analysis" menu,
it's a good time to make us know.
