Re: [JPP-Devel] Vista Look and Feel

2007-09-12 Thread Sunburned Surveyor
Larry,

I also have a Vista computer at home. I didn't want to commit to
fixing any Vista bugs currently, because my plate is full with other
tasks, but that doesn't mean I won't have the opportunity to do this
in the future.

I would be happy to test any Vista bug fixes.

system.

Re: [JPP-Devel] Vista Look and Feel

2007-08-22 Thread Uwe Dalluege
Hi Barbara,

yes, that is exactly what I mean!
I work with JRE 1.6_01.

You can avoid this behavior if you use the MetalLookAndFeel!
Use the following option in the openjump.bat file:

start javaw -Dswing.defaultlaf=javax.swing.plaf.metal.MetalLookAndFeel

Regards,

Uwe

I've been running 6 for a while now at work and at home. I've run
numerous Java apps on Vista with no problems with the exception of this
one Uwe is reporting.

Have you tried 6?

I just checked SkyJUMP on Vista and don't seem any problems with combo

Re: [JPP-Devel] Vista Look and Feel

2007-08-22 Thread Sunburned Surveyor
My Google search of "Vista Swing Combo Boxes" didn't turn up any
information about a problem. I suspect if this was common to Swing on
Vista there would be some relevant hits. This makes me suspect that
something is wrong with our code?

Can anyone verify that Swing combo boxes have problems on Vista in
something other that JUMP/OpenJUMP?

The Sunburned Surveyor

P.S. - Stefan: Maybe I can offer some tips when you move to Linux. :]
Save yourself some of my heartache and go with Ubuntu or Debian.

it sounds like vista is a new challange for Sun (Java).

Maybe we wait for a new java release since microsoft is setting up
