If the method fire a remove event (doesnt know if it already exists) and if the AttributePanel listen to this event, I can see how a dialog box can prevent the AttributePanel to be closed, but I can't see how I will prevent the dispose method to finish its work and remove the layer from the LayerNamePanel... That said, I agree with you, we don't need this confirmation box. -- Comment By: ede (edso) Date: 2012-01-04 14:01 Message: of course can the Attribute showing plugin, when notified of a layer deletion fire up a yes/no box. no problem there. but i guess by deleting a layer the user will definitely not expect the attributes anymore so i see no point for any dialog there. ede -- Comment By: michael michaud (michaudm) Date: 2012-01-04 13:53 Message: Ede, this is a nice idea I had not considered. I'm closed to a solution following my idea, but I will spend some time to explore yours. I think that a event-listener approach wouldn't be as interactive (no question to the user, but automatic close of all dependencies), but this is not a show-stopper. If it's cleaner, it definitely is worthwhile. As this is quite an annoying bug, maybe I'll commit my solution soon and come back to discuss a better solution with you after. -- Comment By: ede (edso) Date: 2012-01-04 02:23 Message: Wouldn't it be more accurate to have AttributeTable's Plugin register to listen for layer events like that and react accordingly? ..ede -- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=679906&aid=3469215&group_id=118054 -- Ridiculously easy VDI. Originally there was a deeJUMP with WFS plugin and that was developed further to work both with deegree and Geoserver version 1.5.0. But when the version 1.0.0 was published it had nice additional features for deegree-WFS (especially WFS-T) but the changes also broke interoperability with Geoserver. The last WFS plugin version that was usable with Geoserver 1.5.0 was 0.7 but it does not seem to be in Sourceforge. However, I do not believe it would work with current Geoserver version but I can have a try next week. I have a feeling that it does not work even with recent deegree-WFS versions. I fear it would need a considerable amount of work to make this very fine WFS client to work again properly. The plugin is using deegree libraries for handling GML and coordinate systems and I suppose that our current developers are not so familiar with them. -Jukka- -- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=679906&aid=3470989&group_id=118054 -- Ridiculously easy VDI. It would be easy to document what it does and what it cannot do and why it will fail with some services. But if nobody else is developing it we might get into dead end with it. Even then things were not worse than now without WFS support at all. Basically this WFS driver is ok, but it does not support any filters, http POST, WFS version 1.1.0, GML3 etc. which are all more and more needed. -Jukka Rahkonen- -- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2012-01-08 08:54 Message: Hi, That plugin version in Sourceforge has never worked with anything else than deegree WFS. Truncating names to suit the .dbf format would yield to identical names. This is how GDAL behaves: Attribute names can only be up to 10 characters long. Longer names will be silently truncated. This may result in non-unique column names, which will definitely cause problems later. Starting with version 1.7, the OGR Shapefile driver tries to generate unique field names. Successive duplicate field names, including those created by truncation to 10 characters, will be truncated to 8 characters and appended with a serial number from 1 to 99. For example: a → a, a → a_1, A → A_2; abcdefghijk → abcdefghij, abcdefghijkl → abcdefgh_1 Taken from http://gdal.org/ogr/drv_shapefile.html -- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=679909&aid=3472020&group_id=118054 -- Write once. [JPP-Devel] [ jump-pilot-Bugs-3488976 ] Noder plugin fails to split polygons

Category: OpenJUMP - Menu - Tools Group: None >Status: Pending >Resolution: Postponed Priority: 8 Private: No Submitted By: michael michaud (michaudm) Assigned to: michael michaud (michaudm) Summary: Noder plugin fails to split polygons Initial Comment: Splitting polygons option often returns a partial result (containing only a small part of the input dataset) -- >Comment By: michael michaud (michaudm) Date: 2012-02-21 16:15 Message: Several problems there : 1) compute intersections when neither split lines nor split polygons was checked has been broken since a switch from MCIndexNoder to IteratedNoder => came back to MCIndexNoder 2) some polygons were not computed with the split_polygon option because of a bad use of Polygonizer. Polygonizer does not want duplicate segment as inputs. - another smaller method in splitting polygons is that it relied on interior point which can sometimes return point on the boundary (made a ticket to JTS mailing list) 3) another problem discovered while debugging is that snap-rounding noder looses z values because of ScaledNoder. I submitted a patch to Martin, and hopefully, it will be fixed with JTS 1.13 (and OJ 1.6 ?) -- Comment By: michael michaud (michaudm) Date: 2012-02-18 23:50 Message: Can reproduce the problem with the following steps : Create two intersecting squares A and B snapped on a 0.1 grid ==> split polygons will produce a single polygon which is the intersection of A and B polygon A-B and B-A are missing from the result Now check the geometry, coordinates issued from snap on grid are not "precise" (something like 123.0002). Make them precise. Now it works. Maybe the noder plugin missed a step where input should be made precise. -- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=679906&aid=3488976&group_id=118054 -- Virtualization & Cloud Management Using Capacity Planning Cloud computing makes use of virtualization - but cloud computing also focuses on allowing computing to be delivered as a service. http://www.accelacomm.com/jaw/sfnl/114/51521223/ ___ Jump-pilot-devel mailing list Jump-pilot-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/jump-pilot-devel

I am adding them to the FeatureTracker so that we don't forget. [1] Select a row or record in an attribute table and select the corresponding feature dynamically, without having to click on a button. [2] Select rows or records in an attribute table when the corresponding features are selected in the map view. The Sunburned Surveyor -- >Comment By: michael michaud (michaudm) Date: 2012-04-06 07:58 Message: Agree that having two different level of selection (rows in attribute table and features in layer view) is unintuitive and unsafe. Some plugin can work on the attribute table rows (like delete feature with the delete key) while other will only work on features selected with the selection manager like AutoAssignAttribute. On the other hand, selecting features with the selection manager probably use more ressources than selecting rows in the table, so that synchronizing both modes would have a penalty.
