[j-nsp] PVLAN with ELS?

2014-03-08 Thread Per Westerlund
Hi everybody.

Juniper is apparently preparing to change the switching CLI in the future to
”Enhanced Layer 2 Software Support (ELS)”.

In the descriptions I have read so far, there is no mention on how to set up
Private VLAN (PVLAN) using ELS.

PVLAN is supported on QFX with the current CLI, will it go missing with ELS,
anyone know?

[j-nsp] Disable STP on a port with ELS?

2014-03-08 Thread Chuck Anderson
Here is another Enhanced Layer 2 Software question. Is it possible to
disable STP participation on a port? The disable command seems to
be missing from these hierarchies, at least on 13.2X51 for QFX5100:

protocols stp interface disable
protocols rstp interface disable
protocols mstp interface disable
protocols vstp interface disable

I seem to recall reading that at least on the 4300 ELS, spanning-tree is now no
longer implicitly enabled on every port, so disable is no longer required
because it is the default state unless you have explicitly referenced the
interface.

Would love to confirm this with someone who has access to either 4300, 9200 or
QFX5100 in front of them

yes on new ELS you need to declare each port

you can use the wildcard

wildcard range protocols rstp interfaces ge-0/0/[0-47]
