[kdenlive] [Bug 356407] "View" menu can't show/hide tabs

2015-12-09 Thread Jean-Baptiste Mardelle via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356407

Did you install Kdenlive or are you running it from a custom folder without
installing ?
I see that you also have missing icons (the "kdenlive" icon on video tracks
should be a checkerboard icon).

In KDE apps, the menus are defined from an xml file called kdenliveui.rc that
file must be installed in a location that can be found at runtime, and I guess
it does not find it correctly.

Did you compile by yourself ?

  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

When I maximize window, it is behind the panel.

I have set panel to be always on top and never hide. Yet, maximized windows are
behind it.
It is rather annoying as I have to resize windows manually to fit or have part
of the window hidden.

See screenshot in attachment.

Reproducible: Always

As pointed out in comment #74 this is a completely unrelated issue.

Session management in Qt5 was and is broken and won't (read: "can't") be fixed
by kwin for sure, there're considerations to work around *parts* of that in
ksmserver, but neither that discussion belongs into this bug.

> Does this problem occur in KDE Plasma 5?

It is not the KDE libraries - It is the libav/ffmpeg libraries.

Short : The Debian & Ubuntu decided to use the ffmpeg fork libav /1/. The
Ubuntu 14.04 is using libav 9.18 /2/. Ubuntu has a stable release policy /3/ to
not update old packages. There will be bug fixes for the serious bugs.

When I was using the Ubuntu 14.04 I added the HEVC support to the KDE
thumbnailer by:

- compiling an own local version of the current ffmpeg
- rebuilding the ffmpegthumbs so it is using the local ffmpeg not the distro
libav.

By my knowledge the Mint /4/ is using the Ubuntu packages but I don't know
witch version is using the newest released version.

With the Ubuntu KF5 thumbnailer there is the bug:

2015-12-09 Thread via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 356413

  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

Version 2.9.9
Using KDE Development Platform 4.14.14

When I go to scripts, export, CSV or ODS export, I get an error message "Failed
to start Sheets. Is Sheets installed?"

Sheets is installed, but I assume the script is using and old naming or
something when it is looking for it.

The CSV export works if I disable the following check in the script (I assume
it doesn's actually need the Sheets).

if Sheets is None:
raise Exception, T.i18n("Failed to start Sheets. Is Sheets installed?")

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Menu: Tools
2. Scripts
3. Export to ods

Actual Results:
error message: Failed to start Sheets. Is Sheets installed?

Expected Results:
export to file.

OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR

I made a thorough search of the project planners, and I found that Calligra
Plan does exactly what I need, and also, that it is the only one which is open
source and contain Resource Leveling (and has a gui, because the latest
TaskJuggler doesn't).

So this is nice, but when I sent over my plan to Windows users, they were not
able to open it. The Calligra-Gemini suite does not contain it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Calligra-Gemini on Windows
2. Search for the Plan application
3. It is not included

Actual Results:
no Plan on windows

Expected Results:
Plan should have a windows installer

I love Plan, but there are still many people on windows, so if I want to share
the plan, I need a cross-platform tool.

What do not you understand?
1. KDE is your desktop manager system.
2. It is a report about the remote crash (accross vnc) on YOUR crash report
screen (i copied this onto my machine).
3. Plus I investigated the relevant records from the system logging: after
crash I logged in via ssh.
4. The error persists.
5. I have deleted the KDE because I need a working desktop.

The complete result: BEFORE opensuse 13.2 to Tumbleweed upgrade my KDE
graphical environment worked. AFTER upgrade I can choose between a full upgrade
WITHOUT desktop (crash) OR a half-wiped system (polkit with other stuff, I do
not know what causes the error) with IceWM desktop.

I sent the problem onto the opensuse TUMBLEWEED forum, there is no answer.
I can not decide that is is either your problem or the opensuse distribution.
It seems to be none of you, only mine...

OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

Sometimes multiple clicks are necessary in order to activate panel elements and
tray icons.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. start 3-4 applications and having some application shown in panel also when
not started
2. work with these application and switch between them multiple times
3. try to click on some tray icons

Actual Results:
sometimes the applications get not activated or hidden. Sometimes applications
get not launched. Sometimes tray icons get not activated by only one click.
With the tray I am not absolutely sure. But working 5 minutes switching between
different applications will for sure trigger the bug (at least for me)

Expected Results:
one click is enough

Hm, in that case, I'd say, use a gamma corrected profile even in 16
bits/channel
rgb, that way you won't get surprises when converting down to 8 bits/channel.

Even with the selected shape (Path Editig tool "on or off), Ill dock" Shape

[klipper] [Bug 356421] New: can't search/filter right away in klipper menu

2015-12-09 Thread via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 356421
Summary: can't search/filter right away in klipper menu
   Product: klipper

  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: plasma-widget
  Assignee: mgraess...@kde.org
  Reporter: ric...@nakts.net

this might be kde frameworks 5.16, but i have to admit that the separate
frameworks/plasma/whatnot versions still confuse me a lot :)

in previous versions, opening the klipper menu and starting to type
filtered/searched the entries right away. now it requires clicking in the
"search" field, which is mighty inconvenient.

would be great to return to the old behaviour either by focusing the "search"
field or just capturing all input when the menu is open

Reproducible: Always

I have had it today again and the situation re/ hald is like this in the moment
of 'startx':

885 - Ds 0:00,01 /usr/local/sbin/hald
890 - I0:00,03 hald-runner
764 v0- I0:00,01 /usr/local/sbin/hald

QDBusConnectionInterface::serviceOwnerChanged(QString,QString,QString)

QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave.
...

The proc 885 can not be killed, not even with -9; only a re-boot solves the
situation; I instructed the start of hald with debug logging and it says on
boot:

$ fgrep hal /var/log/messages

Right now the battery is shown fine and the hald situation is:

[klipper] [Bug 343519] Klipper systray widget is not closed automatically once a user has selected an item

2015-12-09 Thread via KDE Bugzilla

ric...@nakts.net changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||ric...@nakts.net

since starting to use kde5. this has been one of a few things that i would call
"annoying usability regressions" :)
all systray widgets do not serve the same purpose, as sudhir noted - the
workflows around them are different. when a user selects a clipboard entry,
most likely they would like to resume whatever they were doing before, and the
old behaviour of closing the klipper menu worked very well for that.

note that the new behaviour is also causing another issue - if you click the
topmost entry, nothing happens. in the old klipper there was an indicator to
show which entry is in the clipboard - now one can not be that sure. at first,
i clicked the topmost entry a lot and wondered why nothing works :)

i would also like to use this opportunity and say a huge thank you to klipper
developers. despite my beef with this change, it is one awesome application
that i use daily and if a klipper dev ends up in riga, latvia, poke me - i'd
love to buy you a beer :)
i even know a person who uses a different desktop environment, but still uses
klipper in it.
(sorry about the offtopic part, felt a strong need to express gratitude
publicly)

[kmenuedit] [Bug 356422] New: Can not add a new element

2015-12-09 Thread Hans-J . Ullrich via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356422

Bug ID: 356422
Summary: Can not add a new element
   Product: kmenuedit
   Version: 5.4.3
  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: hans.ullr...@loop.de

Dear maintainers,

since KDE5 I am amissing the menu "hamradio" in kmenu. It would be not that
problem, but I also can not a new element on top, only below the already
existing elements.

It would be nice, if you could add this feature.

I believe, the configuration file for kmenu might also be able to be edited
directly and I might try this, if you can point me to the required one.

Also please add the menu "hamradio" again im kmenu, if possible. In LXDE it is
still existent, but no more in KDE5 (aka plasma).

Thank you for your efforts.

Best regards

Hans

Reproducible: Always

[Oxygen] [Bug 356423] New: Regression: Oxygen icon theme use Breeze icons for some programs

2015-12-09 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356423

Bug ID: 356423
Summary: Regression: Oxygen icon theme use Breeze icons for
some programs
   Product: Oxygen
   Version: 5.5.0
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: icons
  Assignee: n...@oxygen-icons.org
  Reporter: opensuse.lietuviu.ka...@gmail.com

I much prefer Oxygen icons. Swithed to Oxygen theme in KDE Plasma 5.5.0.
In desktop, some programs do not use default icons (like /\ for VLC ), but use
Breeze icons.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install fresh KDE Plasma 5.5.0.
2. Select Oxygen icons as default

Actual Results:
Desktop, programs menu show some Breeze theme icons. E.g. some rectangle (|>|)
for VLC, instead of /\.

I searched for icons and found, that used icons only exist in
/usr/share/icons/breeze/apps/

Expected Results:
KDE use default icons, like from /usr/share/pixmaps or
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/

KDE Plasma 5.4 showed icons more correctly, so consider this as regression.

Nothing help, nor deleting ~/.cache content, nor /tmp/*, nor /var/tmp/* . Seems
like Breeze icons is somehow hardcoded. But for Oxygen, I suggest to use
hicolor theme as premier fallback theme, not Breeze.

It's not only Oxygen, it seems that _any_ non breeze icon theme now has part
breeze icons shown.

I reported the bug here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356064 a few days
ago.

A quick and dirty bodge that I've employed is to delete _all_ of the icons from
the breeze icon set ( /usr/share/icons/breeze ) thus forcing any attempt to use
them to revert to the fallback "inherits=" set in the (breeze) "index.theme"...
;)

Why is the cursor height shifted by one pixel?

That way, if you have selected text right before the cursor, you will be able
to distinguish the highlighted text and the cursor (it won't look as one
highlighted line). This can be seen eg. in status line in less.

I guess this is intended exactly for that reason, but I've checked xterm and
gnome-terminal and both have the cursor height same as line height.
Also I myself think it looks better if the cursor height is the same as line
height.

Well, that window isn't using openGL, plasma does.

You can try running with QT_XCB_FORCE_SOFTWARE_OPENGL set.

This only effects when the qpainter render is being used, for the wayland (and

It seems qpainter also has a weird transparency issue in the xterm text going

It does not affect the opengl backend

[dolphin] [Bug 356425] New: Dolphin browsing an MTP device precludes libgphoto2's access to it until dolphin is closed

2015-12-09 Thread Damon Lynch via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356425

Bug ID: 356425
Summary: Dolphin browsing an MTP device precludes libgphoto2's
access to it until dolphin is closed
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 15.08.2
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: damonly...@gmail.com

When Dolphin has accessed the contents of an MTP device, libgphoto2 is unable
to access the device, even if Dolphin browsing another location e.g. the user's
home directory. The device becomes free only when Dolphin is closed.

Additionally, there is no way for the user to do the equivalent of a virtual
"unmount" to ask Dolphin/Kdeinit5 via the GUI to relinquish exclusive control
of the device. There also appears to be no way using the command line either.
I tried solid-hardware unmount udi (supplying the correct UDI), but
solid-hardware reported the MTP device 'does not have the interface
StorageAccess".

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. To confirm the MTP device is accessible by libgphoto2, plug in an unlocked
android 4.0 + phone (for example), and from a terminal execute gphoto2
--list-folders
That should work.
2. Open Dolphin and browse some folders on the phone.
3. Repeat step 1 while Dolphin is open. It fails.

It makes no difference if the device is browsed in a different Dolphin tab.

OK, I was just implementing that in our (fedora) packaging to avoid having to
tell all testers of workarounds, thought it may make sense upstream too. But,
I can see doing it upstream may make less sense (since many 5.5.0 users won't
see it until 5.5.1 lands)

[plasmashell] [Bug 356428] New: Plasmashell crash when minimizing app and then hovering mouse over taskmanager

2015-12-09 Thread Mike via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356428

Bug ID: 356428
Summary: Plasmashell crash when minimizing app and then
hovering mouse over taskmanager
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.5.0
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: noeero...@gmail.com
CC: bhus...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org

Application: plasmashell (5.5.0)

Qt Version: 5.5.1
Operating System: Linux 4.3.0-2-default x86_64
Distribution: "openSUSE Tumbleweed (20151124) (x86_64)"

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I minimized and app, then hovered the mouse over a launcher on the task
manager. Only seems to happen "randomly" and it doesn't seem to matter what
app gets minimized.

The crash can be reproduced sometimes.

-- Backtrace:
Application: Plasma (plasmashell), signal: Segmentation fault
Using host libthread_db library "/lib64/libthread_db.so.1".
