[krita] [Bug 362217] Input event not being correctly recognized when cursor is or not over certain elements in Krita 3.0 alpha

2016-04-24 Thread Tyson Tan via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362217

(1) is especially annoying with Intuos Pro/Cintiq, because when I reach out to
the zooming shortcuts using my hands (one of them is holding the stylus), there
is a high chance the cursor being moved out of the canvas unintentionally,
causing the flow to break.

[krita] [Bug 362217] New: Input event not being correctly recognized when cursor is or not over certain elements in Krita 3.0 alpha

2016-04-24 Thread Tyson Tan via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362217

Bug ID: 362217
Summary: Input event not being correctly recognized when cursor
is or not over certain elements in Krita 3.0 alpha
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.0 Alpha
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: usability
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: tyson...@mail.com

Input event not being correctly recognized when cursor is or not over certain
elements in Krita 3.0 alpha.

For example:
1. Zooming shortcuts (Ctrl+=/+/1, +/-) not working when cursor is not on
canvas;
2. Keyword filter input box in brush preset widget, when cursor moves onto
canvas (without clicking) all keyword input is interpreted as canvas shortcut;

We very often use zooming during operations like changing Brushes, Color
adjustment, Transformation, and switching back and forth between another
program to look at references. It's unpredictable where the cursor will be when
we switch our focus back to drawing. With behavior like (1), zooming cease to
work without any context, which is very annoying and breaks the flow.

When using a graphics tablet, it's not easy to keep the cursor inside the input
box when typing a keyword. It's not like using a mouse, with which you can stop
anytime, a stylus instead keeps reporting its position until it's lifted high
enough. For intuos pro/Cintiq, the effective range is more than 7mm high. Even
if I try to lift it up vertically, it MUST have move the cursor somewhere!
Behavior like (2) is really confusing and flow breaking as a result.

There must be more than these two, but they are by far the most serious flow
breakers for me.

Reproducible: Always

Use silder on statusbar to change icon thumbs size. You can increase it over

[ktorrent] [Bug 362216] New: Ktorrent overwrites my config with defaults

2016-04-24 Thread Storm Engineer via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362216

Bug ID: 362216
Summary: Ktorrent overwrites my config with defaults
   Product: ktorrent
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: joris.guis...@gmail.com
  Reporter: hewa...@gmail.com

So recently I did a sysupgrade, after which Ktorrent lost all my settings. I
figured it is because Ktorrent changed from using .local/share/... to .config.
I found the new ktorentrc, and overwritten it with my old. However, every time
I start Ktorrent it will overwrite all my settings with broken defaults.

I tried making ktorrentrc immutable, in which case Ktorrent will whine about it
not being writable when it tries to overwrite it at start, and then loads with
the broken default settings regardless.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to chance .config/ktorrentrc
2. Start Ktorrent

Actual Results:
.config/ktorrentrc will be replaced with default settings upon start

Expected Results:
Ktorrent should load custom settings instead of destroying them.

[digikam] [Bug 361047] Wishlist: make grouped images more prominently visible [patch]

2016-04-24 Thread Omar Amin via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361047

Hello,

I've fixed the centring issue for the thumbnail and have attached a sample for
3 different groups, please let me know if you think they're still not
symmetrical.

Regarding the large thumbnail support, I've tried to reproduce this issue on my
PC but couldn't

I tried the following
>From Settings->Configure-digiKam --> Album View :
I checked the option --> use large thumbnail size for high screen resolution
and restart digiKam for this option to take effect, but nothing happened

Also from Tools-> Maintenance :
I checked the rebuild thumbnails and restarted digiKam but nothing happened.

Do I need to have an HD screen for this option to take effect?

I'll still search for the code responsible for handling this issue and get back
to you with the patch once i finish it.

Thank you :)
Omar

Hi,

I'm using version 15.12.2 on Fedora 23. I feel like it might not be fully
ready, but when I downgrade to Kdenlive 9 it won't open at all. How do I
disable GPU accelerated movit library? I can't find it anywhere.

Thanks for your help. I'm tempted to switch to Ubuntu and see if that
solves the issues. I just really like fedora.

I made a change to the git version of JuK (what will eventually be in 16.08)
and realized it might be related to this.

The change [1] is to keep Juk and media status monitors (like the default media
player control in Plasma) from fighting over the volume. Maybe it would help
here? Either way I've still be unable to reproduce. :(

Don't know if that helps but, I use a nvidia card with binary drivers.
When I enable the effect to show updated parts of the screen it blinks like
crazy and shows the mpv video screen being updated, even when behind another
maximized window.

I also use export __GL_YIELD="USLEEP" in my environment

This is indeed already fixed in the latest version. I think you actually need
2.1.0. Even 2.0.x is not enough.

However, I would still not recommend editing mount points at the moment because
they completely overwrite /etc/fstab file (e.g. all comments will be lost,
etc...)

[partitionmanager] [Bug 362207] New: Cannot edit mount points - OK / Apply button missing

2016-04-24 Thread Sean Ellis via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362207

Bug ID: 362207
Summary: Cannot edit mount points - OK / Apply button missing
   Product: partitionmanager
   Version: 1.2.1
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: andr...@stikonas.eu
  Reporter: kde.b...@moteprime.org

There is no way to apply changes to an edited mount point.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Partition Manager
2. Select a partition with a mount point.
3. Right click and select "Unmount" to unmount it.
4. Right click and select "Edit Mount Point" to edit the mount point.
5. The edit mount point dialog is displayed.

Actual Results:
You can edit the mount point but there is no way to accept the changes. The
only way to close the dialog is with the close button (red "X" at top right)
which cancels the change.

Expected Results:
There should be an OK or Apply button in this dialog.

I note that the version selected for Kubuntu 16.04 LTS is 1.2.1, which is well
behind the curve.

I note that the "apparently random order" is in fact popularity. This wasn't
obvious as the first page of applications all have 5 visible stars. It would
still be good to sort on different criteria, though.

containment->screen() always returns -1 for applets in the new system tray.

This causes the notifications to partially overlap the panel as it doesn't get
the proper availableScreenRect for the screen it's on. If I place the
notification applet into the panel directly, it works just fine.

[plasmashell] [Bug 361211] Missing Letters

2016-04-24 Thread PGillespie via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361211

As of 16.04's release, the bug hasn't been as drastic. That is, there appear to
have been some improvement since BETA. The problem persists however, usually
occurring after suspend. There are occasional hick-ups when Plasma locks up and
compositing is restarted.

Also, this is a problem on both my systems -- instability in plasmashell and
compositing. Prior to 16.04, neither of my system experienced these
instabilities.

[krita] [Bug 362202] Add a shortcut for toggling "Inherit Alpha" mode

2016-04-24 Thread RN via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362202

If I may add more to this request: all the layer properties that work in this
on\off fashion should be available as customisable shortcuts that toggle the
state of the property.

For example:
- The pass-through mode of a Group Layer (pass-through\normal).
- The visibility mode of a layer (visible\non visible).
- The locked mode of a layer (locked\unlocked).

This way users that rely on changing these properties often can assign
shortcuts and save time.

Perhaps the next version of mint will solve this problem. I think Mint ships

I can confirm the crash with KMail 4.14.3, KDE Development Platform 4.14.18
running on Plasma 5 desktop.
The crash happens when a new folder is opened for which communication with
akonadi is needed.

When using the oxygen icon theme the crash does not happen. It happens with
breezy and breezy-dark.
There must be a pixmap missing and the absence is not handled nicely.

Please, whoever has control over the KDE project, also kick out this guy for
incompetence and/or malice.

I agree completely with Fiable.biz and michael.zug...@college-de-france.fr.

The fix for this is *extremely* simple; you just start a thread for every
element in "Places" to begin with and concurrently you raise this issue to the
LKML explaining how retarded Linux is in its current state, but apparently you
lack the intelligence and communication skills to do that. Then, you can point
to that if users are still complaining. Those users can then decide to run
another kernel, or someone can fork Linux to add the required functionality.

Wouldn't that be fun to ask to Linus what kind of idiot he is (if in fact there
really is no interface to do this)?

[kdesudo] [Bug 362201] New: The owner and group of a file end up being changed to "root" if it's used for example: kdesudo kate FILE

2016-04-24 Thread Ganton via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362201

Bug ID: 362201
Summary: The owner and group of a file end up being changed to
"root" if it's used for example: kdesudo kate FILE
   Product: kdesudo
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: j...@jriddell.org
  Reporter: ku...@gmx.com

Hi! I suppose you already know that, but I haven't found a bug about it: In
previous versions of Plasma, if the user executed
kdesudo kate FILE
and saved the file, then the owner and group of FILE were respected. However,
nowadays the owner and group of FILE end up being "root".

Note: The operating system is Kubuntu 16.04 and in
 Jonathan Riddell
wrote that "kdesudo has moved to KDE infrastructure. If you feel your bug is
still relevant please open a new bug on bugs.kde.org", so I'm writing here.

Thanks for all!

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Execute: kdesudo kate FILE
2. Write something, save FILE

Actual Results:
See that the owner and the group of FILE are "root".

Expected Results:
It was expected that the owner and the group of FILE were the same as they were
before. This was the behavior in the prior Kubuntu LTS version (14.04), and the
previous ones.

[kate] [Bug 316234] Kate changes owner of editing file

2016-04-24 Thread Pedro Morgan via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=316234

Ahem not an expert, but scanning down the issue it seems to be the idea
that

- 1 = I open a file
- 2 = save it = making temp copy
- 3 = use OS to cp temp to original

So perms is lost..
Maybe what we need to do is on open u open temp file
then at save cp origin to temp, and over write temp with origin inal..

Ie copy the file before save to "temp"
overwrite temp with edited
and then copy

[kmymoney4] [Bug 361876] Poor database performance after update

2016-04-24 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361876

"Does it get faster again if you just wait long enough (like one or two
hours)?"
No

"What exactly did you do before it slows down?"
I navigate between account ledgers and the scheduled transactions. I enter a
few transactions and process scheduled transactions. Nothing major IMO. I
feel the application is getting slower as I go because its loading everything
in the ledgers as my reconciled transactions are displayed (not hidden) so
every time I enter a ledger, everything is displayed.

"Does is slow down if you just open KMyMoney and do nothing for some time?"
Yes. I launched KMM, worked with the DB for a while (perhaps for an hour),
then I let it "sit" for another hour or so, and came back to it. I can confirm
it was much slower and less responsive than before I take a break. Even the
GUI was slow to resume operation from a reduced state in the taskbar.

Other observations:
While KMM seems to hang or become unresponsive, htop reports CPU usage around
10% (on one core out of four). RAM doesnt fluctuate much, but other
applications are failing to launch until KMM becomes responsive once again. By
fail to launch, I mean nothing happens until KMM becomes responsive then my
application launches normally..

Also while working, if I collapse the sections in accounts and scheduled
transactions, navigating is noticeably quicker.

This is a little profiling I just did:
Launching KMM and loading the database: extremely quick
Navigating: initially quick, becoming slower as I go
Opening a ledger: slow (8 seconds for a ledger with 45 transactions...)
Opening the config dialog box for a graph report: 8sec
Closing the report: 8 sec

[gwenview] [Bug 362199] New: KIPI plugins do not work in Gwenview

2016-04-24 Thread Martin Thomas via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362199

Bug ID: 362199
Summary: KIPI plugins do not work in Gwenview
   Product: gwenview
Version: Other (add details in bug description)
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: gwenview-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: martin.thomas.1...@outlook.com
CC: myr...@kde.org

I have Kubuntu 16.04
I have gwenview 15.12.3 and kipi-plugins version 4:4.12.0-0ubuntu7
None of the plugins work.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Launch gwenview and click on the Plugins menu

Actual Results:
There are 4 entries, none of which work.

The 'Images' entry displays a popup giving the filename of the current image
and an 'OK' button which just closes the popup.

The 'Tools' entry displays a a popup giving the directory name and filename of
the current image and 'OK' and 'cancell' buttons. Whichever one I choose, it
displays the same popup that the 'Images' entry does.

The 'Import' entry displays a popup saying:
Plugin_KXMLHelloWorld::slotActivateActionImport()

The 'Export' entry displays a popup saying:
activatedPlugin_KXMLHelloWorld::slotActivateActionExport() activated

Expected Results:
The menu should have a lot more options, all of which do useful things.

[kdenlive] [Bug 362097] Audio thumbnails incomplete

2016-04-24 Thread DonnW via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362097

I have tried the modified version in the ppa. When I selected create
thumbnails with ffmpeg and then restarted Kdenlive it loaded up the project and
then crashed before any thumbnails were generated. This happened every time I
restarted it. I started a version of a recently compiled kdenlive from the
build script, reset the thumbnail generation to not use ffmpeg (to reset the
configuration file) and then restarted the installed version. It then worked ok
until I reselected ffmpeg option again. I tried running Kdenlive with:
gdb kdenlive
run

then

thread apply all bt after it had crashed.

this started Kdenlive which was frozen at what looked like thumbnail generation
stage.

the output from thread apply all bt was:
Couldn't get registers: No such process.
(gdb)

How do I attach or send you a sample video file. My clips are quite large even
a short 10s clip is 68Mb which exceeds the allowed size for an attachment

[kaddressbook] [Bug 362150] Crashes on startup

2016-04-24 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362150

I cannot add a bug for akonadi console. So i add it here because maybe its not
a coincidence:

Application: akonadiconsole (0.99)

Qt Version: 5.5.1
Operating System: Linux 4.4.0-21-generic i686
Distribution: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
switching to browser tab. Its the only tab i get a crash.

I also have a problem when starting kadressbook with an imported addressbook
from a caldav source. Maybe its not a coincidence.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

[konsole] [Bug 362197] New: Scrollback buffer loses data when it grows large enough

2016-04-24 Thread Ruslan Kabatsayev via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362197

Bug ID: 362197
Summary: Scrollback buffer loses data when it grows large
enough
   Product: konsole
   Version: 15.08.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: history
  Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: b7.10110...@gmail.com

This can be reproduced with the following bash command:

i=0; while true; do echo "$i $i $i $i $i $i $i $i $i $i $i" >&2; i=$((i+1));
done

Once the numbers printed grow larger than about 2.1 million, Konsole starts
repeatedly printing a message to its parent terminal:

HistoryFile::add.seek: Invalid argument

And if you try to scroll back, you'll see empty lines right above the first
visible line. If you scroll more back, you'll get to the last line which has
successfully been appended to the scrollback buffer. Saving the scrollback also
gives this result, i.e. lines between the last screen and last successful
scrollback update are completely empty.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
0. Set scrollback to Unlimited in Konsole settings
1. Run Konsole (from another terminal to see its stderr)
2. Run this command in bash inside Konsole session:
i=0; while true; do echo "$i $i $i $i $i $i $i $i $i $i $i" >&2; i=$((i+1));
done
3. Wait until numbers printed grow larger than about 2.1 million
4. Try to scroll back

Actual Results:
Nearest scrollback lines get lost

Expected Results:
The complete scrollback buffer should be saved correctly

This happens both in KDE 4.14 and KF5.

[Discover] [Bug 362196] New: badly slow

2016-04-24 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362196

Bug ID: 362196
   Summary: badly slow
   Product: Discover
   Version: 5.6.2
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: discover
  Assignee: aleix...@kde.org
  Reporter: versue...@gmx.net

i really appreciate all your guys work in KDE. I use an old netbook and
i always try to give this device a new chance. Right now i try to use
Kubuntu 16.04 with the last KDE.

Actually i am kind of happy with this installation. All applications
seems to run well, except muondiscover. My netbook is so old, i am happy
with the overall kind of speed. But the discover application is so so
slow. It really is not usable on my device. Most problematic seems to be
the start screen with the 'advertisements', its all rearranging and
resizing again and again. Maybe its because of the device screen
resolution(1024*600)?

It is really a problem with the start screen. If i change to a detail view of a
software, all seems to be working much faster.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. start muondiscover on my device

Actual Results:
muondiscover is extremly slow. It really is unusable on my device. If i select
a software the problems are gone. But its hardly impossble to input text in the
search bar. The 'advertisement' in the upper area seems to be an animation?
Pictures and images are chaotically mixed.

Expected Results:
faster response or better a response at all.

Maybe a switch for not displaying advertisements.

[systemsettings] [Bug 362194] New: system-settings crash on closing without doing any changes before

2016-04-24 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362194

Bug ID: 362194
Summary: system-settings crash on closing without doing any
changes before
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.5.5
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: g...@netcologne.de

Application: systemsettings5 (5.5.5)

Qt Version: 5.5.1
Operating System: Linux 4.4.0-21-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I have opened system-settings and clicked through the following settings
without doing any change:

- Apperance
   - Workspace Theme
  - Look And Feel
  - Desktop Theme
  - Cursor Theme
  - Splash Screen

if you now close the window (I did this by using the window menu and choosing
"close") the system-settings do crash.

Originally I also expected some other changes, but it seems that they are not
required. Checking the above mentioned settings is enough to let system
settings crash. But for completeness:

 - Hardware
- Display and Monitor
- Compositor (with opening the select boxes, without doing a change:
"Rendering backend" and "OpenGL interface")
- Display Configuration

It seems it is enough to open the system-settings and view the following
setting page:

- Apperance
   - Workspace Theme
  - Look And Feel

Now close the window (closing it by using the closing button of the window
decoration leads to the crash, too), and the crash happens.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

[kstars] [Bug 361646] KStars hogs CPU until unusable

2016-04-24 Thread Rob via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361646

Created attachment 98568
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=98568=edit
HTMesh_performIntersection callgraph

One thing: RangeConvex::testTrixel() seems to be recursive: surely that's not
good?

The KDE is using kioslave to open/rip audiocds. The kio-audiocd is not ported
to the KDE Frameworks 5. KF5 applications can't use old KDE4 kio. More of this

[kmymoney4] [Bug 362084] Both schedule icons are missing

2016-04-24 Thread Pete via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362084

Installing the suggested fix to this bug has not worked.

The following were installed in the admin account:

  - sudo apt-get update
  - sudo apt-get install systemsettings
  - sudo apt-get install plasma-theme-oxygen

The regular user account still has the 2 schedule icons missing.
