[KBibTeX] [Bug 337982] Automatic PDF renaming

2017-08-30 Thread fylimas
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=337982

fylimas changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||fyli...@qq.com

Thanks for your great work Fischer, and the discussion between adr.fantini and
Fischer.

-

I have used kbibtex for 2 years, then switch to mendeley for 2 years, mainly
for the benifits for renaming (still buggy) and annotations.
Now I want to switch back due to that nearly no hope for a better support for
group with annotations, as that is a major business for mendeley.
The users do not have direct control on the files.

In specific, I need the separated annotations saved in text file, such that
docfetcher or baloo can index.

-

Come back on the renaming.
I do not think reaming the file name with bibkey or author/year is the best
idea.
This solution does not serve well on give much information as bibtex.
After all, we indeed need bibtex to help us free off the burden on remember all
the metadata of a file.

Furthermore, the bibkey or author/year is not constant, and it does not have
direct relationship with the pdf itself. This would be a disaster when using
okular.

Thus, I think renaming the files with just its md5/sha1 is a good option.
It brings the benefits that all your annotations and bookmarks stay with your
pdf/epub/djvu, when using okular.
Just leave the metadata to bibtex. After all, that is what bibtex expected to
do.
(Do one thing at a time and do it best.)
-

In short, it would be great if KBibTeX could rename the file automaticly with
its md5.

zstd can compress input into .zst file. To compress directories I've used it
with tar to get a tar.zst file, followed with tar and zstd commands to
decompress.(plus split/cat if creating multi-part files).

Any support would be good :)

   Version: 5.10.5
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR

Errors.log

If I shutdown or logout, Plasma takes a while before doing so.

Having a look at the init system logs, it appears that the cause is the
kactivitymanager not shutting down. As result the kdeinit finally decides to
kill it.

[kde] [Bug 384203] New: can't assign shortcut

2017-08-30 Thread Joachim
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=384203

Bug ID: 384203
   Summary: can't assign shortcut
   Product: kde
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: kde-bugtrac...@mereel.de
  Target Milestone: ---

Problems when filing the issue:

I don't know which component this is.
You ask me to choose of a list of ~500 components which I've mostly never heard
of. Do you really want feedback?

I choose kde general, but I can only select versions up to 4.14. From all I can
tell I use 5.10.4 or 17.4-1. No clue which version number you need/want.

Actual issue:

Due to removing a monitor and reconnecting a monitor (I have three) my desktop
lost some of it's control panels. After readding the missing panel the ALT-F1
shortcut which used to open the application starter on my primary screen was
not working. Ever since then I tried to reassign this shortcut, but I can't.

I can open the configuration of the application starter, shortcuts (in german
"Kurzbefehle", not sure if I translated to english correctly) and pick one, I
can pick any one I like, except ALT+F1. Which it used to have before.

What is this magic?
How can I get it to work again?
Why is ALT+F1 treated differently than any other combination?

Plain revert of d9ecb0751bcd82592506e5ebf18743ac56624d24 is not enough so I
ended up with:

With this, the in and out point modifications are not affecting clip playback,

still missing. I use cmst with classic (legacy) systray provided by tint2 and
cmst icon appears after a very long delay. Not reproducible with
plasma-workspace-5.9.x.

  Severity: normal

  Target Milestone: ---

Running OpenSUSE Tumbleweed w/ Plasma 5.10.5 and Frameworks 5.37 and am unable
to access my Samba server with Dolphin using SMB3, as I have set my client to
use max protocol = SMB3. Gives error "Internal Error Please send a full bug
report at http://bugs.kde.org Unknown error condition in stat: File exists". I
notice that the username password box doesn't pop up anymore, just gives that
error. Tried Thunar just to be sure and it works fine using the SMB3 protocol.
NT1 still works, at least until CentOS 7.4 comes out then as I understand it
all the old protocols are getting phased out.

Not sure what other info to include here as I am unable to find these errors in
any logs.

Ah, it has been removed from GUI options in

I will revert this change and disable autosave now for me now as a workaround.

[kdenlive] [Bug 384199] New: kdenlive is really slow to open a large project

2017-08-30 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=384199

Bug ID: 384199
Summary: kdenlive is really slow to open a large project
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: git-master
  Platform: Debian unstable
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: mikko.rap...@iki.fi
  Target Milestone: ---

In my large project I have around 408 clips and photos. Open the project takes
over 10 minutes on an i686 with 2 gigs of ram and a fast SSD.

I think this is a bit too much. Checking strace output during loading of the
project, when btw the popup dialog is not updated at all, shows that for
example all JPG files are opened and checked multiple times:

strace -ttt -e open -p 5786
1504124281.861213
open("/home/mcfrisk/Videos/20170205_bayerische_wald_nesselwang
_ski_tour/nesselwang/DSC08454_taksi_ok.JPG", O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE) = 21
1504124282.802752
open("/home/mcfrisk/Videos/20170205_bayerische_wald_nesselwang
_ski_tour/nesselwang/DSC08454_taksi_ok.JPG", O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE) = 21
1504124283.295829
open("/home/mcfrisk/Videos/20170205_bayerische_wald_nesselwang
_ski_tour/nesselwang/DSC08454_taksi_ok.JPG", O_RDONLY) = 21
1504124283.309766
open("/home/mcfrisk/Videos/20170205_bayerische_wald_nesselwang
_ski_tour/nesselwang/DSC08455_j.JPG", O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE) = 21
1504124284.242783
open("/home/mcfrisk/Videos/20170205_bayerische_wald_nesselwang_ski_tour/nesselwang/DSC08455_j.JPG",
O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE) = 21
1504124284.731773
open("/home/mcfrisk/Videos/20170205_bayerische_wald_nesselwang_ski_tour/nesselwang/DSC08455_j.JPG",
O_RDONLY) = 21

Surely it would be enough to open and check the file only once.

For videos for which I'm using tiny proxy files, opening seems to be faster.

Also, the project loading is not utilizing multiple CPU's and GUI is not
updated. Would be nice to have multiple processes or threads handling the file
checks, and to have some kind of updated progress meter when doing work for
several minutes.

[kdenlive] [Bug 384197] New: Project autosave causes dropped frames in clip preview

2017-08-30 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=384197

Bug ID: 384197
Summary: Project autosave causes dropped frames in clip preview
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: git-master
  Platform: Debian unstable
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Video Display & Export
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: mikko.rap...@iki.fi
  Target Milestone: ---

On a nowadays slow i686 machine kdenlive's autosave causes annoying one
second video playback glitches.

When previewing project clips, and setting in and out points in them,
any changes to in points causes a one second glitch in video playback
three seconds later. Audio continues uninterupted. Using small proxy clips
which play easily in real time on the machine.

I can not reproduce this with a small project and single clips, photos or
generated clips, but in my large project with 100 or so clips, this
happens all the time.

I tried to debug this with gbd there seems to be other bugs in the timer
handling which causes crashes with SIGABRT.

I recall seeing this for years after manually saving the project, but maybe
lately the autosave has been made more robust and these glitches are now quite
disturbing in my use case.

much for helping me with this issue.

[bugs.kde.org] [Bug 383753] Consider changing some resolution statuses in bugs.kde.org to avoid making some people feel bad

2017-08-30 Thread Christoph Feck
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383753

> I'm marking this as RESOLVED INVALID, which just means that it's not our bug.

We have UPSTREAM and DOWNSTREAM to indicate that it is not our bug. Do you know
of tickets that we need to correct?

> WONTFIX implies that we know it's a bug, but are [...] refusing to fix it

WONTFIX should not be used for bugs. The exception is when WONTFIX is used as
in CANNOTFIX (because of requirements or limitations of the underlying
components), such as X11 requiring grabs for popups, etc. If a developer is not
able to fix a bug, the ticket must remain open. Again, do you know of tickets
where a developer used this resolution incorrectly?

For feature request, a developer may decide that the feature should never be
added and use the WONTFIX solution. The alternative to marking feature requests
as WONTFIX is keeping them open. This is the norm, because a future developer
might have a different opinion than the developer who first decided this. If,
however, multiple developers raised valid points against a feature, it makes
sense to close as WONTFIX. If it was a useful idea, it will be suggested again
years later anyway, so a different batch of developers can decide anew.

> I'd also like a TRIAGED_COULD_NOT_CONFIRM

We have keywords, such as "triaged", "investigated", "reproducible",
"needs_testcase" and "needs_verification".

A feature that would be great is the ability to view media information within
the properties dialogue. What I mean if I open the properties for a file I
would like to see details about the file. If it is a picture I would like to
see dimensions etc, if it is a video I would like to see dimensions bitrate etc
and Music I would like to see length, type, bitrate etc. To view all of this
information I either have to open the file or use the terminal and that just
affects my workflow.

The information pane doesn't show enough information.

OK :)

The bug report was two years old also. );

Now using 5.10.5, and indeed somewhere along the way from 5.4 whatever was
causing that behaviour has been fixed.

Based on the hints at bug 383892 and some experiments a workaround seems to be
to set environment variable QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME before starting umbrello5 e.g.
in a command shell inside the umbrello portable package 'bin' dir run

set QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=qwindows
umbrello5.exe

Need to automate this setting.

[kscreenlocker] [Bug 384005] With Latest Nvidia Drivers (384.69), Kscreenlocker has a segfault

2017-08-30 Thread Martin Flöser
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=384005

I got some information from NVIDIA: the root problem is our seccomp filter
which disallows write access. This results in NVIDIA not being able to open
required files for writing in the /dev/ directory and that is the root cause
for the crash.

We were aware that disallowing write might cause problems and have a "hack"
there to first open an OpenGL context in the hope that this triggers everything
the driver needs. This seems to have been overly optimistic (it worked when we
tested it).

I'm currently working on a bug fix which can detect NVIDIA and disable the too
restrictive seccomp rules. This of course means the sandbox is not fully
functional any more on NVIDIA.

the konsole between selecting the calendar 'work' and the crash.

With a fresh user of in KDE neon dev stable installation, I've started
korganizer and added the owncloud resource. So here is the output of
korganizer when I configured the owncloud dav resource. Maybe this helps:
