--- Comment #1 from Martin Flöser  ---
That is kind of expected as there is no clipboard manager running. The relevant
task is: https://phabricator.kde.org/T4449

As we don't need to track it at two different places I set this bug to
resolved/later

--- Comment #1 from Igor Zhuravlov  ---
One correction: after crash the clipboard contains two items: topmost is empty,
and previous contains the text copied. So, the text copying was succeed, in
some sense.

I also do not know whether I would like this dialog window. Personally I had
never desire to decide by the small thumbnail and the file size, whether it is
the same file. I would suggest that we rename an existing file with a counter
and always copy it. Gilles, Simon and Mario how do you see that?

[Falkon] [Bug 386235] New: Falkon saves temporarily downloaded files in ~

2017-10-26 Thread Kishore Gopalakrishnan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386235

Bug ID: 386235
   Summary: Falkon saves temporarily downloaded files in ~
   Product: Falkon
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: now...@gmail.com
  Reporter: kishor...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

After clicking a file download link, if I select the option to directly open
the file instead of saving it, falkon saves the file in a directory in my home,
like ~/falkonXX. While this folder is removed on Falkon exit, a better
behaviour which wouldn't lead to temporary file clutter in ~ would be to save
the files in a folder in ~/.local/tmp or /tmp.

Falkon version information (from help > about Falkon):
Application version 2.1.99 (40d42f12)
QtWebEngine version 5.9.2
© 2010-2017 David Rosca
https://www.qupzilla.com
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko)
Falkon/2.1.99 Chrome/56.0.2924.122 Safari/537.36

I am using the falkon-git(https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/falkon-git/)
package from the AUR.

[konsole] [Bug 386233] New: Konsole profiles dialog tab has too many sliders

2017-10-26 Thread Johnny Wezel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386233

Bug ID: 386233
   Summary: Konsole profiles dialog tab has too many sliders
   Product: konsole
   Version: 17.04.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor

  Reporter: sp...@wezel.name
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 108581
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=108581&action=edit
Screen shot

The Konsole profiles tab in the config dialog has a horizontal slider for the
whole contents plus one in the profile list. The outer one is certainly
unnecessary because it lets the buttons on the right side vanish if the window
is wrongly-sized (and it always is, because it seems to be measured based on
font size). I even consider the slider in the list unnecessary. If the content
gets too crammed, the window can be enlarged instead of fiddling with the
slider. See the attached screen shot to see how both sliders manage to screw up
the whole thing.

2017-10-26 Thread bugzilla_noreply

Bug ID: 386229
   Summary: Keyboard issue bug kdenlive 17.08.1 for Windows
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: kambiz.khat...@outlook.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I'm a new user using Kdenlive 17.08.1 64 bit  with Windows 10 64.

Having a curious issue. When I start the application and press space bar
playback starts. When I press it again playback stops. Then when I press it
again playback does not start up again. I have to press the right arrow key a
few times and then press the space bar and go back and forth and then playback
starts again this is very unusual behavior. Have to repeat this process every
time I stop playback.

Also the graphical play/pause/stop button works once then stops working.

I installed Kdenlive as per instructions on the website where I downloaded the
application. I also installed the ffmpeg shared application.

I also have Shotcut and Lightworks installed and all the keys work perfectly
with both applications.

So I'm wondering if it's a flawed install of kdenlive or is it something that's
missing in my system.

I'd very much like to try out Kdenlive because it seems to be very robust and
solid application. Unfortunately this keyboard issue is not making things
easy.

Thank you for any insights.

Never mind. I downloaded and installed Kdenlive 17.04.3 and everything seems
to work fine. No keyboard or other issues.

[Plasma Vault] [Bug 386227] New: Prompt to enter password does not set focus

2017-10-26 Thread Mike Harris
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386227

Bug ID: 386227
   Summary: Prompt to enter password does not set focus
   Product: Plasma Vault
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: ivan.cu...@kde.org
  Reporter: mike.a.har...@outlook.com
  Target Milestone: ---

When encrypting or decrypting vault the password dialog shows but does not set
focus to the line edit. I need to click the dialog box to be able to enter my
password

It seems like it's hanging until I click the password dialog box. The full
representation doesn't disappear until I click the dialog box so maybe it's a
threading issue?

I have pdf files linked to my bibtex file using the localfile entry. This
version of kbibtex does not recognize the "~" character anymore, so the links
to all my pdf files are broken. (I use the "~" so I can use the same bib file
on different computers where I have different usernames and thus different home
directory names)

Plasma 5.11.1 openSUSE Tumbleweed
Same issue here - while copying via Dolphin the spinning notification animation
kills the CPU - 100%
Workaround 1 - use console/mc
Workaround 2 - turn off notification (progress can man see at the task manager
(if enabled) but cannot stop.
Workaround 3 - put the notification tray on an auto-hidden panel.
For now I use combination of 1 and 3.

Moreover, can you try some newer version of Okular?

I divided code in logical parts as you suggested. Hope the review process will
be MUCH easier now. Note that patch is supposed to be fully applied for compile
and regtest purposes.

Done.

I've removed __inline__ from my helper functions but saved them for
vr_xxy_offset(...), put_vr_xxy(...) and get_vr_xxy() ones.

The reason to do so that their gpr "brothers" are declared with inline. I don't
know if it is important or not but want to declare similar functions with
similar annotations.

If you disagree with this statement I will remove __inline__ from all my helper
functions in "guest_s390_toIR.c" file.
Let me know your opinion on it.

Maik,

Gilles got me on 5.7.0 because of previous problems, and on 5.8.0 on this one.
Ctrl-M does not work here. How do I get it working from the gui without having
a menu bar? Having said that, in 5.7.0 hitting control-M twice (!) does the
job. Feels a lot better.
Thanks a lot, if further problems I'll keep you posted.

[digikam] [Bug 386224] New: Metadata is not updated when moving tags

2017-10-26 Thread Simon

Bug ID: 386224
   Summary: Metadata is not updated when moving tags
   Product: digikam
   Version: 5.8.0
  Platform: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Tags-Keywords
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: freisi...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

When moving a tag in the left sidebar from one parent tag to another, this
change is not reflected in the metadata. When afterwards writing metadata to
file by item menu or using maintenance tool the correct tags are written to the
file. This should happen automatically.

This is about the same operation as 368734, but the problem is different: In
the other issue it is about the moved tag not being correctly saved in the

In general it was a Qt bug in KDE which is fixed now. It seems some parts of
Kate are still in the old implementation and have not switched to update. It
could be a simple refactoring if no other type of bug.

I am using Kubuntu hence it also affects Ubuntu packages.

I have installed Ubuntu 17.10 for testing in a virtual machine. I can not find
any problem with the official package digiKam-5.6.0 as well as with the current
AppImage. The menu bar is available and can be activated or deactivated
normally via the GUI, CTRL-M also works.

the issue is for Ubuntu platform, are you using Win10?
if you are using Windows i can test your PNGs (just one maybe) just send me a
link.. because on Win10 i tried now. .and seems that all PNG are working fine.

have you unzipped the Kdenlive on Desktop? (or some other folder that your user
can read/write without any issue? not root of C: and not PROGRAM FILES folder)

Bug ID: 386219

Hi there

Since the update of KDE Frameworks to 5.39 systemsettings5 will crash on
FreeBSD when kirigami is used.

```
My guess is, that it uses something that is not available in Qt5.7.
After you start a VMWare Container with Windows 10 in some cases the
Application Starter of KDE, (K) in the Menu, can't be opened using the
Windows-Key.
I see if i open the W10 Menu using the Windows-Key both Menus the Windows Start
and the KDE Application Starter comes up.
Sometimes, in this case the KDE Application Starter can be opened normally.
Hope this helps.
Im Using:
Plasma: 5.9.5
KDE Framework: 5.31.0
QT: 5.7.1
It is a long standing bug in Qt: it doesn't support compose key (see
@Nate: I still think the original issue (name not appearing in dialog) is
upstream (GTK or Qt). What you mean is the GTK dialog appearing at all (Oded's
issue), but that's not what this bug originally was about :)
@Oded: Thanks for keeping us up-to-date :) If you have the patience, it would
be great if you could  also report the bug in the GTK dialog to Qt or GTK
(which IMHO is valid), even if you can workaround it by using KDE's dialog.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373629
--- Comment #16 from Oded Arbel  ---
If anyone else encounters such a problem and get here, here's the actual
problem: the Ubuntu package budgie-desktop-common sets up a file
/etc/profile.d/10-budgie-desktop.sh that defines an environment variable called
QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME to "gtk2" causing all QT application to load the GTK+
dialogs instead of the default KDE dialogs.
This is definitely a bug in the Budgie desktop setup that is not respecting
other desktops and forces a configuration that breaks expected behaviors of
other environments. I've opened a ticket on this here:
[krusader] [Bug 386217] New: Pressing Arrow keys behaves incorrectly in quicksearch
2017-10-26 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386217
Bug ID: 386217
   Summary: Pressing Arrow keys behaves incorrectly in quicksearch
   Product: krusader
   Version: 2.6.0
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: m...@fork.pl
  Reporter: s-tr...@list.ru
  Target Milestone: ---
Steps to reproduce:
Issue1:
1. Enter /var/ directory
2. Apply sort by name. For example:
../
backups
cache
crash
games
lib
local
lock
log
mail
...
3. Select ../
4. Type "lo" - quicksearch bar appeared and selected "local" directory
5. Press "right" arrow key
6. Nothing happened
Expected results:
6. Current directory changed to highlighted "local" dir
Issue2:
1. Enter /var/ directory
2. Apply sort by name. For example:
../
backups
cache
crash
games
lib
local
lock
log
mail
...
3. Select ../
4. Type "lo" - quicksearch bar appeared and selected "local" directory
5. Press "up" arrow key
6. "lib" directory selected
7. Press "right" arrow key
8. Current directory changed to "lib"
Expected results:
6. Quicksearch should wrap its direction and select "log" directory
8. Current directory should be changed to "log", but it was changed to "lib"
(which even not matches "lo" search string!)
2017-10-26 Thread Martin Koller
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386120
--- Comment #3 from Martin Koller  ---
Since I do not see the checkmark in the context menu beside the colors toolbar,
it seems it is hidden. However I have deactivated the ability to hide it at
some point in time, which is seen also in your screenshot as the entry is
greyed out.
So I assume you once used an older version of kolourpaint, hid the color
toolbar, upgraded, now it's still hidden but greyed out so you can't show it.
I suggest to find the config file of kolourpaint, which should have the name
kolourpaintrc somewhere below your $HOME, and then remove the file and then
restart kolourpaint.
It is an optional dependency. Also note that this is the KDE bugtracker, which
has nothing to do with packaging.
[okular] [Bug 386215] New: pages look bad with scaled display
2017-10-26 Thread Pawel
  Platform: Manjaro
screenshot of a page in Okular
I've scaled the display in Settings to 1.2x. The whole interface is scaled
nicely except the documents in Okular and some of the pages in KDE settings,
where the fonts and graphics look jagged and irregular.
Maybe list it as an optional dependency then?
I usually set up my external monitor as above the laptop when I'm working at
home. At start I always get them one besides the other despite changing it in
the KCM.
Also I have the impression that it randomly decides which display is on the
left and on the right.
[kwin] [Bug 386213] Accents don't work on non-xwayland applications
2017-10-26 Thread Aleix Pol
--- Comment #3 from Aleix Pol  ---
#Comment 1: when I get the weird touchpad thing, I do see kglobalaccel
returning true.
In any case I can't type accents on wayland applications, hence my proposal to
fix the accent thing first and then we look into kglobalaccel.
I have a theory.
It's a long standing bug and this is why Martin changed his surname!
Did the debug show if the accent key was always being eaten by the GlobalAccel
I can only type letters with accents such as à or é in applications that use
xwayland.
On others I can't. Also sometimes I get very funky glitches where typing just
the accent (in the Spanish layout you type the accent and then the letter so
`+a=à) triggers weird global actions: touchpad disabling or opening the
activities bar.
I have some debug information in place but it hasn't been all that useful so
far and it's not trivial to debug because it's not easy to reproduce,
especially the global actions issue (which could very well be worthy of a
separate bug report).
