The rendered preview in KMail and the stored event in korganizer starts at 2018-05-16T14:00:00 CEST, one hour later. The system timezone is set to Germany/Berlin (UTC+0200). [digikam] [Bug 393539] New: Wishlist: Option to save rotation information (pixel, EXIF-flag) to the file always, instead of sidecar
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393539 Bug ID: 393539 Summary: Wishlist: Option to save rotation information (pixel, EXIF-flag) to the file always, instead of sidecar Product: digikam Version: 5.7.0 Platform: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Metadata-Orientation Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: gen...@moin.fi Target Milestone: --- Using digikam (here, v5.7.0) - there is a setting that allows to write metadata to a sidecar file or not. I have that option selected because generally I prefer the picture file to remain unchanged. But there is a problem when I use other programs to view the image file (e.g., as a wallpaper) - when the rotation information is stored in the sidecar, these programs are unaware of the correct rotation. Wishlist: New option (under the Settings>Metadata>Rotation tab) to "Store rotation information directly in the image file even when sidecars are used". -> If unselected, the behaviour is as currently. -> If selected, then upon rotating an image in Digikam, the rotation is applied to the image file and any rotation stored in the sidecar is reset. (Resulting in the image file on its own having the correct rotation.) (This "wish" could be generalized such that, for every item of metadata, one can choose whether to save in the sidecar or in the image file. But the problem is the rotation flag because this affects directly how other programs show the image.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 393537] New: Can't turn off timezone display
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393537 Bug ID: 393537 Summary: Can't turn off timezone display Product: plasmashell Version: 5.12.1 Platform: FreeBSD Ports OS: FreeBSD Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Digital Clock Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: gr...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 My system has the system clock set to UTC. In the Plasma digital clock, Digital Clock Settings -> Appearance has *use 24 hour clock* checked. Not checked are *show date* *show seconds* and *show local time zone*. In the tab * Time Zones*, exactly one timezone is checked: Amsterdam (CEST). The digital clock displays the time as *13:43 (CEST)* -- so with the timezone, even though I didn't ask for it. If I uncheck all the timezones so that "UTC / Local" is automatically selected, then the timezone is no longer displayed, but I get 11:43 which isn't correct either (well, that **is** the time in UTC, but not what I wanted). If only one timezone is selected, and *show local timezone* is off (I assume it means "display the tz label") then no timezone indicator should be shown. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I am missing window decorations on some apps using GTK 3 on wayland. I know that the Gnome guys are using CSD and KDE / Plasma is using SSD. I don't see double window decorations. Some apps e.g. gedit are shown correctly. If I use e.g. "gtk3_preview" that is part of "kde-gtk-config" the missing window decorations can be reproduced easily. GDK_BACKEND=x11 /usr/lib64/libexec/gtk3_preview => all fine GDK_BACKEND=wayland /usr/lib64/libexec/gtk3_preview => missing decorations GDK_BACKEND=x11 gedit => IMHO all fine GDK_BACKEND=wayland gedit => IMHO all fine The installed GTK+ 3 version is 3.22.30 Is this still related to CSD / SSD? Can it be solved by another GTK theme? Anything else I can do (open issues for GTK)? If you have further lecture for me, please point me to. [KScreen Effect] Fix fade to black Summary: When you have two windows ontop of each other and you turn them transparent, evidently you'll be able to see through them. Not only does it look unpolished if the desktop window flashes through your windows, it can pose a privacy risk as you'd be able to briefly look through the lock screen. This patch fades apps to black intead of to transparent. As this looks weird for panels, so windows are also faded to opaque (if relevant) at the same rate. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=355935 --- Comment #63 from Antonio Orefice --- I noticed another interesting behaviour. When kerning looks bad, if i open font configuration and change anything related to the font used for the desktop (General font), it looks nice.
