[Falkon] [Bug 393542] New: Download Integration with Plasma

2018-04-26 Thread Jonathan Riddell
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393542

Bug ID: 393542
   Summary: Download Integration with Plasma
   Product: Falkon
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: now...@gmail.com
  Reporter: j...@jriddell.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Falkon should integrate with KDE and Plasma's file transfer mechanism.

Currently it has its own download dialog. Instead the download should be done
such that it talks to kjobuiserver and show the download same as dolphin would.
This is also done in Firefox and Chrome through Plasma Browser Integration.

Nothing special, I just hit the up arrow to fetch the last command I ran (mvn

Invitation generated by IBM Domino

The attached .ics file generated by IBM Domino / Lotus Notes describes an event
starting at 2018-05-16T13:00:00 CEST (UTC+0200).

The rendered preview in KMail and the stored event in korganizer starts at
2018-05-16T14:00:00 CEST, one hour later.

The system timezone is set to Germany/Berlin (UTC+0200).

However I'm not sure if the file is incorrectly parsed by Korganizer or
generated by Domino. I've checked an invitation I've imported one year ago with
an earlier version of korganizer (the one that was part of Debian 9), and while
it was correctly stored into the calender at that time the invitation is now
rendered with an offset of one hour in KMail.

Back in 2005(!) a similar bug was reported at #106149

[digikam] [Bug 393539] New: Wishlist: Option to save rotation information (pixel, EXIF-flag) to the file always, instead of sidecar

2018-04-26 Thread Christian
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393539

Bug ID: 393539
Summary: Wishlist: Option to save rotation information (pixel,
EXIF-flag) to the file always, instead of sidecar
   Product: digikam
   Version: 5.7.0
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Metadata-Orientation
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: gen...@moin.fi
  Target Milestone: ---

Using digikam (here, v5.7.0) - there is a setting that allows to write metadata
to a sidecar file or not. I have that option selected because generally I
prefer the picture file to remain unchanged. But there is a problem when I use
other programs to view the image file (e.g., as a wallpaper) - when the
rotation information is stored in the sidecar, these programs are unaware of
the correct rotation.

Wishlist: New option (under the Settings>Metadata>Rotation tab) to "Store
rotation information directly in the image file even when sidecars are used".
-> If unselected, the behaviour is as currently.
-> If selected, then upon rotating an image in Digikam, the rotation is applied
to the image file and any rotation stored in the sidecar is reset. (Resulting
in the image file on its own having the correct rotation.)

(This "wish" could be generalized such that, for every item of metadata, one
can choose whether to save in the sidecar or in the image file. But the problem
is the rotation flag because this affects directly how other programs show the
image.)

Maybe the problem is the blurred background not being rotated correctly? I
found a few pictures where the wallpaper rotation is wrong, but the ones I
found so far are also shown wrong in e.g. Gwenview - the rotation information
was stored in a sidecare file.
But please look at the uploaded image and try to figure out why the blurred
background has a different rotation than the image itself.

No. Ram usage remains the same until Dolphin is restared.

Maik,

See my screenshot from my MacBook Pro with MacOS 10.13.4 :

https://www.flickr.com/photos/digikam/40815701755

The native dialog is used properly. I inserted a SDCard and with Import/Add
Images, i can see the "NONAME" sd card contents. So this way work.

The autodetection through Solid API do not work, and it's normal. Look well in
Components Info dialog, it's KF5 5.42, not the last one 5.45 including MacOS
fixes in Solid.

I will rebuild the Mac bundle PKG today.

[digikam] [Bug 393416] Can't import pictures on Mac OSX High Sierra from SD card or camera

2018-04-26 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393416

--- Comment #15 from caulier.gil...@gmail.com ---
To Comment #14 : The problem is due to KDE::Solid interface used to detect
automatically device and populate the Import menu. Solid API was recently
updated with a better MacOS support, and i just find a way to build DK 6.0.0
PKG bundle with this code. Try the installer here to see if it work better than
5.x release.

https://files.kde.org/digikam/

Note : when you use setup dialog, the auto-detection pass by libgphoto2
interface. It's completely different and less powerful than Solid way. for ex,
gphoto2 do not support fully the image preview for import icon view. Solid
detect the camera as an USB Mass Storage device permit to process more
background operations.

[plasmashell] [Bug 393537] New: Can't turn off timezone display

2018-04-26 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393537

Bug ID: 393537
Summary: Can't turn off timezone display
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.12.1
  Platform: FreeBSD Ports
OS: FreeBSD
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Digital Clock
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: gr...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

My system has the system clock set to UTC. In the Plasma digital clock, Digital
Clock Settings -> Appearance has *use 24 hour clock* checked. Not checked are
*show date* *show seconds* and *show local time zone*. In the tab * Time
Zones*, exactly one timezone is checked: Amsterdam (CEST).

The digital clock displays the time as *13:43 (CEST)* -- so with the timezone,
even though I didn't ask for it. If I uncheck all the timezones so that "UTC /
Local" is automatically selected, then the timezone is no longer displayed, but
I get 11:43 which isn't correct either (well, that **is** the time in UTC, but
not what I wanted).

If only one timezone is selected, and *show local timezone* is off (I assume it
means "display the tz label") then no timezone indicator should be shown.

I don't see anything by pressing on "Card reader" and also nothing under "USB

[kwin] [Bug 393536] New: missing window decorations for GTK 3

2018-04-26 Thread Markus Rathgeb
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393536

Bug ID: 393536
Summary: missing window decorations for GTK 3
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.12.4
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: decorations
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: maggu2...@web.de
  Target Milestone: ---

KDE on Wayland is used.

I am missing window decorations on some apps using GTK 3 on wayland.

I know that the Gnome guys are using CSD and KDE / Plasma is using SSD.
I don't see double window decorations.

Some apps e.g. gedit are shown correctly.

If I use e.g. "gtk3_preview" that is part of "kde-gtk-config" the missing
window decorations can be reproduced easily.

GDK_BACKEND=x11 /usr/lib64/libexec/gtk3_preview
=> all fine

GDK_BACKEND=wayland /usr/lib64/libexec/gtk3_preview
=> missing decorations

GDK_BACKEND=x11 gedit
=> IMHO all fine

GDK_BACKEND=wayland gedit
=> IMHO all fine

The installed GTK+ 3 version is 3.22.30

Is this still related to CSD / SSD?
Can it be solved by another GTK theme?
Anything else I can do (open issues for GTK)?

If you have further lecture for me, please point me to.
I already read e.g.:
https://blog.martin-graesslin.com/blog/2018/01/server-side-decorations-and-wayland/
https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=GTK-KDE-SSD-Wayland

One small correction: for me it isn't crashing, it just hangs UI.
Even if I try to do
kbuildsycoca5 && kquitapp5 plasmashell && kstart5 plasmashell
it will do nothing as plasmashell hangs and even can't exit.
But it is terminatable (normal termination, NOT with KILL) from system monitor.
After that if I run
kstart5 plasmashell
it hangs again.

Seems if something heavy is in klipper, it hangs!
Last time I've worked with 100k rows table in LibreOffice.
plasmashell hanged, and even reboot won't help.
Situation changed after I removed /home/denixx/.local/share/klipper/ with all
it's content.
Maybe there should be timeout of klipper loading, and if it can't load in some
reasonable time - clean the history and reload it.

Tune in a tv channel and put Kaffeine into normal mode. Then close Kaffeine.
Next time you open Kaffeine with --lastchannel it does tune to the last tv

Now tune in a tv channel and put Kaffeine into minimal-mode. Then close
Kaffeine. Next time you open Kaffeine with --lastchannel it does tune to the
last tv channel too, but this time the intro selection screen is overlayed and
does not disappear even when you press '5'. You then have to switch interface
modes back and forth to get rid of the selection-screen and bring up the tv
stream.

Git commit 437a36a2bb86222f1c3d086c15a2f60eef898c1a by David Edmundson.
Committed on 26/04/2018 at 09:15.
Pushed by davidedmundson into branch 'Plasma/5.12'.

[KScreen Effect] Fix fade to black

Summary:
When you have two windows ontop of each other and you turn them
transparent, evidently you'll be able to see through them.
Not only does it look unpolished if the desktop window flashes through
your windows, it can pose a privacy risk as you'd be able to briefly
look through the lock screen.

This patch fades apps to black intead of to transparent. As this looks
weird for panels, so windows are also faded to opaque (if relevant) at
the same rate.

[plasmashell] [Bug 355935] Font kerning is incorrect

2018-04-26 Thread Antonio Orefice
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=355935

I noticed another interesting behaviour.
When kerning looks bad, if i open font configuration and change anything
related to the font used for the desktop (General font), it looks nice.
I mean, not only changing font family and back, but even font size, or
"effects", like strikeout or underline.
Don't know if it helps anyhow.

Well, it's normal that Dolphin is needing more RAM for temporarily storing the
thumbnails. Does the usage decrease again if you switch to another folder,
containing less images?

I chose to set the priority to minor as this is a rather specific usecase
(normal users will not toggle the preview function a lot) + it only happens
with icon mode. I have raised the priority again, as there is apparently an
interest in having this bug fixed.

Yep, that was the problem, I didn't have any pages yet. After I added one and
closed the browser, the wallpaper still wasn't saved, but then I applied it
again and closed the browser from the menu and now it remembers.

Detailed code analysis:

In PreviewJobPrivate::getOrCreateThumbnail, as the KFileItem item localPath()
is empty, the copy takes place.
And a KFileItem has localPath() empty if there is no
KIO::UDSEntry::UDS_LOCAL_PATH in the UDSEntry.

[krita] [Bug 393503] First stroke in a row has a strong lag.

2018-04-26 Thread Przemyslaw Golab
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393503

Ok. I understand although I have new info I guess xD

I've tried to change Krita setting trying to find something.
I tweaked "Performance" settings in "Advanced" tab I turned on performance
stats and turned OFF "Progress reporting".
And my lags disappeared xD

I've tried turning "Progress reporting" ON to check if it was a culprit but
turning it ON or restarting Krita didn't made lags come back.

Technically my problem is fixed for now... I will try to monitor situation and
report any new info.

Since the latest openSUSE patches and updates last Tuesday, the Wallet Manager

Is there anyway to unset a default source? I only seem to be able to change to

Yes, it's really only about visibility. Could you try them one after another as

I have 2 enabled sources and one disabled, all from nextcloud

To see if it had previously tried to use the disabled one I disabled the one I
have set to default but there was no error and it still created a new todo in
that source. Does enabling/disabling only effect visibility of things in it?
