[frameworks-kcoreaddons] [Bug 387663] Dolphin doesn't update view (doesn't show new files)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387663 --- Comment #18 from Mike Robinson --- I am also having this problem with Kubuntu 18.04, see the above screencast. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399905 Bug ID: 399905 Summary: Wallpaper file cannot be renamed or deleted without resetting the wallpaper Product: plasmashell Version: 5.14.1 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Desktop Containment Assignee: se...@kde.org Reporter: matthewtresc...@gmail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY Plasma should copy any image file a user selects for a wallpaper to some location (probably in ~/.local or ~/.config) so that the desktop background is not dependent on a file in the user's personal folders. Why? Think about it this way. Most non-tech savvy users view the computer as something that "has a mind of its own." To make it easier for such people to use computers, user interfaces and operating systems should be designed to minimize users' encounters with behavior that reflects computers' lack of ability to actually think. Some users barely understand the concept of a file, much less the importance operating systems place on a file's unique name. One cannot honestly expect such users to realize that the desktop wallpaper is actually an image file stored somewhere in the filesystem. To such users, the wallpaper is a completely separate entity, and it needs to be treated as such. If they say, "make this picture my wallpaper," it had better stay that way---you can't assume that they intend to change their desktop wallpaper when, three weeks later (by which time they've forgotten what that file is anyway), they decide to clear out all their old files and in so doing, delete their desktop wallpaper file. (Side note: I wish I didn't have to justify these kinds of things, but it seems that there is a defensive attitude toward reports of unintuitive UI behavior, rather than an attempt at empathy toward users here on Bugzilla.) STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Download or take a picture and place it somewhere in your home directory (e.g. Downloads) 2. Right-click on the desktop and hit "Configure Desktop" then "Add Image..." 3. Select the downloaded image. 4. Apply the changes, then delete the downloaded image. 5. Log out and log back in OBSERVED RESULT The desktop reverts to the default wallpaper image. EXPECTED RESULT The desktop retains the user's settings, regardless of whether the user has deleted the image. (This is the behavior on Windows.) [kdenlive] [Bug 399904] New: Kdenlive does not follow symbolic links
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399904 Bug ID: 399904 Summary: Kdenlive does not follow symbolic links Product: kdenlive Version: 18.08.0 Platform: Chakra OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: User Interface Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org Reporter: knut.hildebra...@gmx.de Target Milestone: --- When starting old projects - saved January through April 2018 - kdenlive reports "Clip Problems" without showing which clips are missing. Looking into the matter I found out that all clips named "INVALID" in the Project Bin are symbolic links. Adding clips which actually are symbolic worked fine when I created the projects in question. Interestingly, if I add the same symbolic links to a new project they are found, even after saving and reloading the project. Thus I suppose that conversion from the old to the new project format did not work properly. That the project file had been converted kdenlive announced after loading the old project file. Furthermore it made a backup of the old project file. But even after saving the project after the conversion, next time when the project is loaded the same procedure. [Akonadi] [Bug 399811] imap (dovecot) is no longer accessible
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399811 --- Comment #5 from Ivan S. J. --- I tried installing Opensuse tumbleweed in a virtual machine. It has kmail-18.08.1. It works. I then tried installing Opensuse 15.0 in a virtual machine. It has kmail-17.12.3. That surprisingly worked. This is the same version as I have on my laptop where it doesn't work. I'm fairly sure the last time kmail worked on my laptop it was kmail-4.14.10 (opensuse 42.2). So I suspect it is something in the configuration or cache files that causes akonadi-imap to malfunction. Which configuration files might that be? [okular] [Bug 399447] Okular should remember print dialog "Options" button state
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399447 Albert Astals Cid changed: What|Removed |Added Ever confirmed|1 |0 CC||aa...@kde.org Severity|normal |wishlist Status|CONFIRMED |REPORTED --- Comment #7 from Albert Astals Cid --- I'm not sure what to answer here, my main concern is that the fact that you often need to change options doesn't mean that everyone else does. So remembering the state of whether option was expanded or not may not be in everyone's interest. As to whether this should be implemented in Qt or in Okular, well Okular could try to hack it by itself, but then that'd be really inconsistent with the rest of applications using the same print dialog, so that doesn't seem a good idea to me. You could try to convince Qt to do it, but given how much people (i.e. virtually noone) is doing printing related stuff in Qt I am not sure you'll get much traction there either. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
