I hope it is still active. To clarify. Usecase: You delete a bunch of photos,
one by one and delete one too many (sound familiar?:-) A simple Ctrl-z to undo
the last one would be a very quick and userfriendly way to solve such a
mistake.

Adding ctrl-z to more operations is appreciated too. And of course a stack
mechanism to undo not only the last but several operations would be great too.

[kdenlive] [Bug 399911] New: Blacklisted effects still available from UI

2018-10-16 Thread Clint Moyer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399911

Bug ID: 399911
Summary: Blacklisted effects still available from UI
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 18.08.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: cont...@clintmoyer.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
My understanding was effects on the blacklist were not supposed to be available
through the UI. Please correct me if I am wrong in that assumption. At the very
least this file seems to be a source of confusion.

https://cgit.kde.org/kdenlive.git/tree/data/blacklisted_effects.txt?h=v18.08.2

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open latest version of application
2. View effects menu

OBSERVED RESULT
Many of the blacklisted elements are present in the UI. We should either update
the blacklist or fix this. For example "Sharpen" is from the blacklisted
"frei0r.sharpness" effect but we can see it here.

https://cgit.kde.org/kdenlive.git/tree/data/effects/frei0r_sharpness.xml?h=v18.08.2

EXPECTED RESULT
Blacklisted elements should not be present in the UI.

Mockup Tags Button

To Nate's point, I was unaware of the features Stefan mentioned.

Nate's idea is great.

My thought at the time was more along the lines of a button (mockup-attached)
which -> Tag Selection Dialog box. Right or wrong, the dialog box would at
least mimic the behavior of the "Add Tags..." button present on the
"Information" Side Panel in Dolphin.

I agree that some kind of instructional text is needed here. It should be
subtle though, so that people can still use the lock screen as a screensaver.
And it probably needs to be smart enough to know that hardware configuration.
"touch" wouldn't be an appropriate instruction for a desktop computer, for
example.

[frameworks-kcoreaddons] [Bug 387663] Dolphin doesn't update view (doesn't show new files)

I am also having this problem with Kubuntu 18.04, see the above screencast.
This seems to also affects sync programs, (e.g. Seafile), which are supposed to
watch certain directories for changes and upload to the server any files that
have been changed, however I need to manually tell it to rescan the
directories.

I get a "No space left on device" error when running Dolphin:

$ dolphin

Can you reproduce the problem with one other KDE application, as dolphin or

Before restart, or leave session I have 4-5 konsoles with any tabs.
After login I have 50/50 konsoles with 30% transparent background.
OS: OpenSuse Leap 15.
Kernel: 4.12.14
All from Leap15 updates (non-)oss. All updated.
This bug observed from OpenSuse 13.2 - minimum 3 years. How to fix it???

Very uncomfortable after each reboot open new konsoles and restore tabs.

Those are okay, but not very discoverable, and don't relate to Dolphin's filter
bar, which is what this request is about. To implement this on the filter bar,
we could make tags tab-complete when you start typing them and turn into little
tokens in the text field.

[dolphin] [Bug 391699] Dolphin crashes when it can't move files (permissions, etc)

New crash information added by DrKonqi

dolphin (18.08.0) using Qt 5.11.1

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I tried to copy a directory from a ext4-formatted partition to another
ext4-formatted partition (on different devices).
Both are connected via SATA and working without any problems.
Dolphin showed an error that the permissions for a certain file could not be
moved, so I pressed on retry, then Dolphin complained the same file is now
missing. Now I select to press skip, and Dolphin crashed immediately.
At the end, some files where moved, others not.

[plasmashell] [Bug 399905] New: Wallpaper file cannot be renamed or deleted without resetting the wallpaper

2018-10-16 Thread Matthew Trescott
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399905

Bug ID: 399905
Summary: Wallpaper file cannot be renamed or deleted without
resetting the wallpaper
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.14.1
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Desktop Containment
  Assignee: se...@kde.org
  Reporter: matthewtresc...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
Plasma should copy any image file a user selects for a wallpaper to some
location (probably in ~/.local or ~/.config) so that the desktop background is
not dependent on a file in the user's personal folders.

Why? Think about it this way. Most non-tech savvy users view the computer as
something that "has a mind of its own." To make it easier for such people to
use computers, user interfaces and operating systems should be designed to
minimize users' encounters with behavior that reflects computers' lack of
ability to actually think. Some users barely understand the concept of a file,
much less the importance operating systems place on a file's unique name. One
cannot honestly expect such users to realize that the desktop wallpaper is
actually an image file stored somewhere in the filesystem. To such users, the
wallpaper is a completely separate entity, and it needs to be treated as such.
If they say, "make this picture my wallpaper," it had better stay that
way---you can't assume that they intend to change their desktop wallpaper when,
three weeks later (by which time they've forgotten what that file is anyway),
they decide to clear out all their old files and in so doing, delete their
desktop wallpaper file.

(Side note: I wish I didn't have to justify these kinds of things, but it seems
that there is a defensive attitude toward reports of unintuitive UI behavior,
rather than an attempt at empathy toward users here on Bugzilla.)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Download or take a picture and place it somewhere in your home directory
(e.g. Downloads)
2. Right-click on the desktop and hit "Configure Desktop" then "Add Image..."
3. Select the downloaded image.
4. Apply the changes, then delete the downloaded image.
5. Log out and log back in

OBSERVED RESULT
The desktop reverts to the default wallpaper image.

EXPECTED RESULT
The desktop retains the user's settings, regardless of whether the user has
deleted the image. (This is the behavior on Windows.)

[kdenlive] [Bug 399904] New: Kdenlive does not follow symbolic links

2018-10-16 Thread Knut Hildebrandt

Bug ID: 399904
Summary: Kdenlive does not follow symbolic links

  Platform: Chakra
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: knut.hildebra...@gmx.de
  Target Milestone: ---

When starting old projects - saved January through April 2018 - kdenlive
reports "Clip Problems" without showing which clips are missing. Looking into
the matter I found out that all clips named "INVALID" in the Project Bin are
symbolic links. Adding clips which actually are symbolic worked fine when I
created the projects in question.

Interestingly, if I add the same symbolic links to a new project they are
found, even after saving and reloading the project. Thus I suppose that
conversion from the old to the new project format did not work properly. That
the project file had been converted kdenlive announced after loading the old
project file. Furthermore it made a backup of the old project file. But even
after saving the project after the conversion, next time when the project is
loaded the same procedure.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399811

I tried installing Opensuse tumbleweed in a virtual machine. It has
kmail-18.08.1. It works.
I then tried installing Opensuse 15.0 in a virtual machine. It has
kmail-17.12.3. That surprisingly worked. This is the same version as I have on
my laptop where it doesn't work. I'm fairly sure the last time kmail worked on
my laptop it was kmail-4.14.10 (opensuse 42.2).

So I suspect it is something in the configuration or cache files that causes
akonadi-imap to malfunction. Which configuration files might that be? Any
directions on how to obtain useful debug log?

@Mara: Is there any way for you to install 18.08.1/debian in a virtual machine
(or 100% clean&fresh user account) and check if that works? (so we can
determine if we have the same problem).

It seems minimally invasive to just make it remember the last state of the

For example, icons kcm highlights the current theme with a blue border. See the

However in plymouth kcm it's impossible to know the current boot splash. As you
can see in my screenshot, no boot splash is highlighted.

[okular] [Bug 399447] Okular should remember print dialog "Options" button state

--- Comment #7 from Albert Astals Cid ---
I'm not sure what to answer here, my main concern is that the fact that you
often need to change options doesn't mean that everyone else does.

So remembering the state of whether option was expanded or not may not be in
everyone's interest.

As to whether this should be implemented in Qt or in Okular, well Okular could
try to hack it by itself, but then that'd be really inconsistent with the rest
of applications using the same print dialog, so that doesn't seem a good idea
to me.

You could try to convince Qt to do it, but given how much people (i.e.
virtually noone) is doing printing related stuff in Qt I am not sure you'll get
much traction there either.

typing "continue" reproducing the crash and typing "backtrace"

It's strange.
It's slow on that machine (a few seconds), and fast on my machine, using the
same project.
It's slow on that machine when a file which is part of a kate project is open
(which contains MANY files), it's fast if e.g. a file in the kate source tree
is open. Will look more into it.

Debian unstable a few days ago. Connections to three different IMAP accounts
fail silently (The account simply goes offline after a while).

Debug output with QT_LOGGING_RULES="org.kde.pim.* = true" says:

...
org.kde.pim.kimap: close
org.kde.pim.kimap: Connection to server lost 0
org.kde.pim.imapresource: Session login cancelled
org.kde.pim.kimap: KIMAP::LoginJob(0x56521befc090)
...

Trying to debug the imap session via KIMAP_LOGFILE only results in lots of
empty logfiles.

One of the servers is dovecot 2.2.13, the only message in the server log is:

...
Oct 16 20:48:14 X dovecot: imap-login: Disconnected (no auth attempts in 3
secs): user=<>, rip=77.177.x.x, lip=188.40.x.x, TLS handshaking: Disconnected,
session=
Oct 16 20:48:51 X dovecot: imap-login: Disconnected (no auth attempts in 30
secs): user=<>, rip=77.177.x.x, lip=188.40.x.x, TLS handshaking: Disconnected,
session=
Oct 16 20:48:54 X dovecot: imap-login: Disconnected (no auth attempts in 3
secs): user=<>, rip=77.177.x.x, lip=188.40.x.x, TLS handshaking: Disconnected,
session=
...

[Falkon] [Bug 399898] New: Add ability to view frame source

2018-10-16 Thread Turtle
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399898

Bug ID: 399898
Summary: Add ability to view frame source
   Product: Falkon
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: now...@gmail.com
  Reporter: tur...@think-electric.com
  Target Milestone: ---

THIS IS A FEATURE REQUEST:

SUMMARY
It would be nice if Falkon could show me the html source of the curremt heml4
frame.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1.Go to a site that uses html 4.01 frame sets
like https://www.htmlgoodies.com/legacy/tutorials/frames/fr4t3.html
2. Right click on a frame and select view source

OBSERVED RESULT
Sourcecode of the entire page will be displayed.

EXPECTED RESULT
Firefox has a feature that allows a user to "view frame source", it would be
cool if falkon could do the same.

SOFTWARE VERSIONS
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.12
KDE Frameworks Version:
Qt Version: 5.9

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Kernel Linux-4.18.12
Platform x86_64-Intel-R-_Core-TM-_i7-3520M_CPU_@_2.90GHz
libtool:2.4.6-r3
make: 4.2.1-r4
glibc: 2.26-r7
I am running Falkon stand alone without KDE.

COMMENT:
I doubt that across the entire web html 4.01 frame sets will go away any time
soon. It would make it handy for web developers to use Falkon.

[krita] [Bug 399860] SIGSEGV when closing and new, after picking a color

2018-10-16 Thread Anna Medonosova
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399860

I can reproduce the crash not only with picking a color from the toolbar popup,
but also from advanced color selector and the palette docker.

When I select colors only in the artistic selector, I can close and open files
without a crash. However, when the artistic selector updates with a color from
outside, it starts crashing upon repaint.
