[plasmashell] [Bug 418217] background setting is not retained
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418217 --- Comment #8 from Martin Tlustos --- A workaround: rename /.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc to plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc.bak and restart. Plasma creates a new file. You then can change the desktop setting and copy the new one to the .bak file and restart. [digikam] [Bug 418645] DNG files appear purple
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418645 --- Comment #2 from Martin --- I am reading on the Adobe Website: "Linear (demosaiced): The image data is stored in an interpolated (“demosaiced”) format. This option is useful if a camera’s particular mosaic pattern is not supported by a DNG reader. The default mosaic format maximizes the extent of data preserved. Mosaic image data can be converted to linear data, but the reverse is not possible." For one, I want to avoid processing hundreds of images and a possible reduction of data does not seem like good option. This is why I didn't do it 2009 (about). The hint comes from that too: the DNG reader has a problem with the Fujicolor S3's data. I saw someone with an S5 having the same issue using Affinity on Mac. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[systemsettings] [Bug 414396] KCM can't read settings file (kde_settings.conf)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414396 --- Comment #45 from Ben --- No problem. # dpkg --configure -a (no message, all clean, nothing was left unconfigured) # apt-get install --reinstall kde-config-sddm (all the messages) So, nothing has changed. Be sure. If the hammer is broken, then it makes no sense to change the nails. ;-) But! I started a Kubuntu 20.04 current iso with Plasma 5.18.1 into RAM. And tested the same. It works quite different and very clean. With my Kubuntu 19.10 installation I tested more variations. And I discovered more abnormalities. I'm sorry, I won't go on. I stick to my strategy and copy /etc/sddm.conf.d/kde_settings.conf to /etc/sddm.conf. This helps me to hold my system clean. Otherwise it costs me too much time. I repeat myself. I just did a simple installation with the 'minimal' option. Then added the PPA for Plasma 5.17 / 5.18 and only made alternately with apt-get and Discover upgrades. Maybe this mix is the problem. No longer will do this. I only do a new installation with 20.04 LTS. When 5.18.3 is in the repos. On a new partition. To compare with 19.10. > Actually, why are you getting this "half-configured" message? https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414396 Filip Fila changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REPORTED|NEEDSINFO Resolution|--- |FIXED --- Comment #42 from Filip Fila --- I tested Kubuntu 19.10 with 5.18.2 (backports). Everything works. I used the exact same themes and even added a custom background. It should also be impossible for the Sync function to save the theme since that's not what its code does. There should be no reason for Kubuntu and Arch to behave differently. Sorry, I have tried everything at this point. I can reopen if another user shows up or investigate further if you post the following: 1) output of 'apt list kde-config-sddm' (I can't see it in your logs because all they show is KDE Frameworks and Applications, there is not a single Plasma package there) 2) if the output of the command above shows 5.18.2 is installed then a screen recording of the issue -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[KEXI] [Bug 418582] Kexi form design colour choices overidden in current Manjaro
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418582 Jarosław Staniek changed: What|Removed |Added CC||stan...@kde.org --- Comment #2 from Jarosław Staniek --- Hi Ian. You got it close to the original assumption in KEXI: OS style shall not override WYSIWYG behavior of the app. Benefit of this default is that, if you open the same project on Windows or Mac you get similar sizes and colors as these originally designed. Especially sizes can be very different otherwise (if we follow the style) and can easily misplace the GUI elements, since we're not supporting Qt layouts at the moment (there was an honest attempt in KEXI 0.x). That said, it does not mean KEXI won't offer a swich, which, if enabled, more or less follows the system style. The same goes for colors and icons. Forthermore, KEXI's form designer is not Qt Designer which only designs layout and unless colors are set explicitly, system style will be used at run time. Any developers or sponsors who, can support the "use OS look and feel" behavior. Until then it is secondary item on the feature plans. PS1: I imagine, by the way, serious testing and adjusting of the behavior is needed for the increasingly common HiDPI, setups like 4K or 6K displays where our GUI elements need resizing. Some them do resize, I think, thanks to how they are implemented at Qt level but their positions do not adjust, since as said above, there are no layouts in use. So because we're still computing sizes and positions in physical pixels (in forms, not reports), I am not sure why there are even no bug reports for potential issues :) Myself, I do not have access to such resolutions; not only to PC monitors but also Macs are way too expensive. PS2: Editing of bug description is not possible at the moment and it is annoying to me as well. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kate] [Bug 409940] Undo cursor move
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409940 mickael.bo...@linux.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||mickael.bo...@linux.com --- Comment #1 from mickael.bo...@linux.com --- I would like to implement this in Kate. How : - connect a slot to KTextEditor::View::cursorPositionChanged() - fill a map> in this slot - register the actions "undo move cursor" and "redo move cursor in the View menu with their associated shortcuts and the hardcoded shortcuts ctrl + "mouse previous/next button" - when the action is triggered, apply it on the current view and update the map[view] list accordingly. In a second commit: - allow to discard jumps when the relative cursor move is less than N lines - allow to limit the lists sizes (I doubt this will save a lot of memory but the original post only suggests to undo few bad keystrokes). On my own wishlist: - allow to configure the mouse buttons actions but I did not see any easy option in the KDE framework. The Kate tab bar already use the "mouse previous/next button" but I don't use the tab bar, thus the "mouse previous/next button" are a good mouse shortcut for me.
